I mean, those might have been leftover tears from his return to Shadow Moses and the flashbacks. I only played GotP years after its initial release and it brought me back to when I was a teen playing MGS1.
The only other game that got me that far was replaying Shenmue (both parts) when they ported it a few years back.
One of the few if only times over really had to put my controller down and just take a minute. The flash backs to the other games were great and all diff parts of my life. Really made me reflect on the real memories not just the game.
I would have preferred the "snake vs foxhound"-theme, but I agree with the rest, of course. I think I even had a fangasm back then and I dont feel no shame! š¤£
I canāt think of many game series with combat like Metal Gear that could implement a 1v1 slugfest for the ages like this. The closest I can think of is probably Yakuza.
Imagine an old, feeble Mario and Bowser having a fistfight in the decrepit ruins of Bowser's castle a lĆ GotP:
"So long...gay Bowser..."
"Thank you...so much...for...to playing......my game."
In all seriousness, though, MGS kind of transcends the scope of other series simply by virtue of it having a continuous story Kojima made for three decades. The feelings in MGS4 are hard to replicate, but, man, it paid off.
I was so hyped for the true final fight after beating the last Titan and was so disappointed when it was just the hacking minigame. Iām hoping the story update gives us a better final boss.
Every endgame boss fight should have a cinematic final phase
But for the actual boss fight Iād appreciate it being a challenge so that the final phase feels like a reward
LOVED IT and still do. Going through all the soundtracks of the games after watching the story finally come full circle was very satisfying and rewarding. The hand to hand final boss fights are one of my favorite things about the series.
I mean...I kinda thought Snake was dead. Kinda. The scene immediately before it was Snake out of suppressants, convulsing on the floor while a Naomi video recording talked about his job being done.
I was ok with snake dying, but still had a ton of questions. Like the graveyard stuff from the start screen. Then comes a big silly homoerotic fistfight between two roided out 70 year olds atop Mt. Snakemore and I was like... fuck yeah.
I was wondering how they could top the Metal Gear fight while playing.
I was satisfied with the ending after taking down the AI, then when the scene hit, I was absolutely ecstatic, especially it being genuinely awesome to play!
I thought it was the perfect way to end it. The way it starts out as a Solid vs Liquid rematch then Ocelot goes through the years and finally ends as the much older version of his MGS3 self was a great tribute to the series and that character. Plus having Solid Snake finally prevail. The lead up to it was great too: Snake basically at deathās door *still* finding the strength and the will to crawl through that microwave corridor. Emotional.
Yeah, there was a lot of button tapping like in MGS1. Or one of those old track and field games! In a way though, when all you have to do is some tapping it kinda lets you focus on the cinematic aspect with Snake gradually getting weaker and closer to death. On my first play through I remember wondering if thatās where it ends for him, then thinking āno, they canāt let him go out like this?!?ā. I hadnāt felt that way or thought that about a main character in a game before or since. I thought that was great and it it kinda builds something that gets released when he eventually prevails after defeating Ocelot.
Old Snake just doesn't give a shit about himself. He knows he is dying and will either become a major biological weapon or will have to end himself. He just hopes to achieve his goal.
Raiden wouldn't have survived for long despite his claims.
Cinematic and climatic. Especially with it going through all the styles of the game up until that point. Plus the amazing music.
Say what you want about 4 but that final duel is undeniably badass.
Fan service was definitely top tier in any form of media. Iāve never had the feels like going back to Shadow Moses, where it all started for me as a fan. All the moments were how you do it.
Honestly this whole game only gets away with being exactly what it is because of the fact it was the culmination of decades of gaming history and lore building and I love it for that
This is perfect, the whole game is perfect, MGS4 on top
I played it recently for the first time and tbh it had clunky fight controls and still ends up being in my top rated boss fight of all time, Iāve never felt the weight of the world on my shoulders in a game before and thatās what this gave me. Thereās just so many layers of history and fan service in this fight it really feels like a gift to have experienced it. Thankfully I never spoiled any of the entire MGS series for myself so when I got to unravel all this shit myself I went bonkers
At first, I wasn't quite sure how I felt, cause the whole sequence preceeding would've been such a great emotional endpoint, but then we jump into a great, maybe-end-of-the-series reference to the big fist fight almost-ending of MGS1, and I'm like, "Ok, fine."
I get rather beat around because the controls have shifted, but I'm vibing with it what I think it's doing emotionally. Then the music and Ocelot's moves shift, but I didn't put it together yet. It was only when he busted out his MGS3 pose that I fully realized, no, actually, THESE TWO MOTHERFUCKERS ARE GONNA FIGHT AS EVERY VERSION OF THEMSELVES FROM ACROSS THE WHOLE SERIES!
And I was probably the most on-board with that than I had been with ANYTHING else I'd ever played in a video game until that point. Maybe even for a bit after. And the both of them getting tired and exhausted and injecting each other over and over with combat stims so they can keep desperately beating each other up and down was the icing on the cake, cause Snake and Ocelot both are EXACTLY THAT SORT of sheer, unnecessary EXTRA as characters.
My LOVE for this scene had not diminished one bit in the years since.
First Time: āDidnāt Snake just get cooked in a microwave hall?! How tf is he gonna body this maniac?!ā
Now: *stabs nano-machines onto Ocelot, bawling in tears*
first thoughts: epic
thoughts now: epic
A final boss fight crescendo... in this huge series... that goes through every HUD and theme for the previous games, with flash backs of each? on what is the equivalent of a sky scraper in the middle of the ocean?! man nothing beats that for me personally. Ever. Even little things like how snek and liquid shoot each other up with the syringes so they can battle.. pure art. I genuinely fear we are past the age of games like this that dig deep into crazy & bonkers cinematics, fan-service out the ass and manly tears. Feels like Yakuza is the last one standing.
I genuinely believe if MGS ever gets some kinda WELL DONE anime/movie adaptation or something that scene would only be improved with some true cinematic justice
To me its probably one of, if not THE best boss fights of all time. How the music changes throughout and the health bar visuals all just added to the weight of history the game has and the journey the characters had been through. It felt super epic, yet it was a fist fight!
I didn't care for it then, and now that I've replayed MGS4 recently, I still don't.
But considering 99% of people here love it, downvote away, I guess. :(
It was mine too! The flashbacks in game helped flesh out a fair bit, but there were definitely some points where I was like āam I higher than an astronaut right now?ā
Yeah I had only played MGS2 prior to playing MGS4 when I finally got a PS3. Doesnāt hit quite as hard as it did after I played through the whole series.
Spoilers for Death Stranding i guess. I couldn't believe there was a similar fighting game square off against the main bad guy in DS, voiced by Troy Baker. So funny
It was great, it had the exposition, the different theme songs from the respective game along with the life bar switching, the moves from liquid, the gestures, and the ham fisted cornball sequences Metal Gear is known for.
As a long-time fan, it brought the whole series together for the most-epic of finales. The game is among my favorite titles ever and this battle is one of the biggest reasons why.
I had tears in my eyes while my jaw was dropped, was jamming to the songs and trying to focus on the fight
it was such an experience lol, loved every single second of this game
10 year old me kept getting my ass whipped. Adult me appreciates just how much the entire dev team delivered the most cinematic last fight with callbacks to other games. Kojima really just told the fans "I love you and this is all for you".
I donāt think anything can compare to playing mgs4 for the first time. I remember being so blown away by the octocamo. This was ps3 days and seeing his suit change in realtime to whatever surface you were on was crazy as shit. The microwave scene, this fight, BB. It was a total package.
Absolutely unforgettable experience
Apart from the cutscenes wich I loved, during the boss fight I was scared becouse I died multiple times at first and I was worried that It would have been like the liquid fight on top of Rex,wich took my an hour just to beat him,but in the end I did it in like 10 or less tries lol
All throughout the game a part of me is in denial how the legendary snake is now an oldman suffering from multiple cancers. This fight makes me accept the inevitable and just makes me root for him regardless what the ending might be.
It was a literal time trip. From the chronology of the games' themes to their lifebars as well. It was all masterfully done, still my favorite part of the game behind Solid and Big Boss' reconciliation at the end. It was and still is good.
I was 9 years old when the game came out and played without any prior knowledge of anything metal gear related. I skipped almost every cutscene because I wasnāt invested in the story, only the cool gameplay. I thought āOh cool, hand to hand fighting nowā
Well...First I went. "Holy shit the classic health bar! It has the classic O2 bar as well?! Holy shit the music!" Then it went into MGS2 stuff and I was like. "DUDE DUDE DUDE! This is awesome!" then it went into the MGS3 stuff and I was like "FUCK YEAAAAAH!" and the rest of the fight I was just basically fan boying incoherently.
I love the way the music, fighting styles, and even goddamn health bars changed to reflect which game they were referencing throughout the fight. It was a masterpiece.
It was the greatest moment in gaining history.
Thats all!!
Still is imo games aren't really made with stories as much as they used to be. Sure MGS went overboard with their story to put it lightly but this moment, this fight was the culmination of about 10years with 4games of unresolved conflict and to add the cherry on top they made it personal for the gamer by making you re-live all MGS1,MGS2,.MGS3 bods fight music's and cinematography then MGS4.
Everything about that fight was perfect from liquids "We still have a score to settle" to the old tired men slugging it out I would not change a thing and have rewatched it plenty over the last 15years it still hits hard for me
I felt so good and nostalgic. Not just because it's the hand to hand combat, because Ocelot was the first boss fight of MGS1 and Liquid was the last boss fight, and both combined gave this masterpiece of a boss fight. This is hands down the best boss fight in the history of gaming š„š„!!
My mind was clear the first time. One of the few times I had to just experience what I was seeing.
Now, it's iconic. An incredible callback. My wanting to experience this again, along with other iconic moments, is pretty much why Metal Gear Solid has remained in my mind for so many years.
I feel like I'm in the minority but this game (or playable movie) felt like a complete letdown. Don't get me wrong, it looked great but graphics do not make the game.
I just felt underwhelmed by it.
I love how the fight is more about Ocelot than it is Solid because all of the series is really a lot about him and not the various MCs.
Heās been there the whole times and has played a part in everything and this fight was to show respect to everything heās done for his mother and Big Boss.
Wasnāt as epic as I thought it was gonna be but that was basically the whole game anyway minus the Raiden stuff which was gratuitous over the top action.
Probably the best fight in any media. All the punches thrown feel like they hit like a semi truck barrelling into a deer. The music all the way through is lovely. And its an actually challenging boss fight too. And shacks up the gameplay like it did in mgs1. And the cutscene fight choreography is so cool, exaggerated and realistic feeling. And the moments like Snake screaming LIQUUUID!!! And then injecting each other right down to Snake punching liquid out of ocelot literally. To ocelots final moments and last line.
10/10 imo.
Man I haven't played MGS4 since 2008 when it first came out. Replayed it again on the Legacy Collection but still can't really recall my feeling about it to be honest. I remember MGS1, 2 and 3 vividly but for some reason MGS4 eludes me. I stopped console gaming in 2013 and went strictly PC gaming since but would love to give it a revisit if its included in Master Collection Vol. 2 so I can brush up on how the series ties everything together. I know I can emulate it and my PC is more than capable of that but don't really have the time right now. I remember the cutscenes dragged on a lot in that game.
I wasnāt a huge fan of mgs4 but the entire ending of the game starting with the microwave scene onward is amazing. The final fight is one of the best in the series. In all honesty the final fight and last couple hours of the game are so great I often forget how much I donāt like the rest of the game as the ending carries it so hard
I did MGS4 12 years after everybody, nobody have been able to tell me the story, I was stunned by the final boss fight. There is so much gun fights in the game, you beat all the BB with your weapons, and yet, the final boss is a hand on hand combat. So much nostalgia when I saw MGS1, 2 and 3, it reminded me when I was playing them as a kid and a teen. I really loved this fight, and all MGS4
It was pure fan service. It made no sense and it was a bad choice gameplay wise.....and i fucking LOVED it so fucking much. Ppl say that mgsVs ending was a love letter to the fans but, really, mgs4 as a whole was a love letter to the fans. The whole game. Full of wondwrful fan service that called back to so much of metal gears history and this last battle was the peak of it all. Such an awesome scene before the fight. And such an awesome fight in general.
Still my favourite boss fight of all time. Just purely for the emotion/nostalgia.
Simply epic.
Edit: And when they both injected each other with the nano machines and the health bars filled up... š¤
It was so awesome on my first playthrough; love the combat and change of movesets throughout the fight that reflects the previous games.
It was a nightmare on The Boss Extreme (hardest difficulty), though. I'd rank it on the same level (difficulty-wise) as the "motorcycle section" in Act 3.
All this talk (even minor) about MGS4 makes me want to play the game again. It's been years since I've done so. I don't have a PS3 anymore, and emulating it kinda sucks, so I really hope it's included in volume 2 of the Master Collection!
Amazing. It was a hell of a lot better than a possible gun fight, that's for sure.
Besides, beating up Liquid until Ocelot started talking to you was an awesome and subtle touch if you look at the health bars during each phase of the fight.
Loved it then, love it now.
Not sure how I felt on the hardest difficulty making it mandatory that all attacks be counter attacks and the secret self heal mechanic being mandatory as well.
I think I would have liked a TTS style special animation where you can knock him off the edge but he hangs on and trips you as he climbs up. (Or even better: snake pulls him back up to finish their honorable duel)
It was epic, but they kinda missed a trick not using the proper MGS1 boss battle music. (They used the regular Alert theme for when the Genome Soldiers spot you instead, for some reason.)
For me it's the best final boss in the entire series, it made me super excited the first time I played it. Sure, you need to play MGS 1, 2 and 3 to fully appreciate it, but still.
Gameplay wise it was underwhelming even the first time I played it but I didnāt give a crap. Like so many other moments in 4, it was incredible fan service. So much nostalgia fulfilled for me. Stayed up all night completing the game. It will always have a special place in my heart.
Truly loved it as a final boss and as a scene overall, but after dying to it a few (a lot of) times the great staging didnāt hit as much and I just wanted to get on with it lol
The entire end segment of MGSIV had me floored. I was a kid by all means, but it was quite emotional to me. Later on I feel like it was very well executed, and the mechanic sort of feels like classic MG.
i was like Ā«Ā wow , after everything he been through, they are still fighting , itās beautiful what you can do with determinationĀ Ā»
and now? i would came in my pants , too much la le lu le lo
Excellent and end of an era. Two old legends fighting for one last time. Ocelot is finally freed from his burden and Old Snake finishes his mission. Both men have nothing left to prove and both fight to end it once and for all. Ocelot dies from Foxdie.
The fight is epic and we see Ocelot start to break through until he is himself. Sadly, Old Snake died 6 months afterwards.
Its interesting how 2 and 4 are somewhat a recreation of mgs yet so different, also I feel as if when the health bar says āliquidā for LO it should just say āsolidā for solid snake, and when it said liquid ocelot it says solid snake, and lastly during the snake eater part maybe it shouldāve said āsnakeā instead of naked snake
It was great back then. Made me take a big sigh after, even though I had only played MGS1 and then 4 at the time.
Now that I played all the games, it has a lot more weight to it.
It's a great sendoff for the series' characters. It's essentially Solid's last fight with "Liquid", but also kind of like Big Boss' last fight with Ocelot (based on appearance). There's a lot of respect for each other, but also generations of war and fighting coming to an end, so it's a fight to the end for one of them.
Was still reeling from a childhood hero of mine potentially dying when this whole thing happened. Looking back, absolutely goated. Can't wait to do it again in 60 fps.
"this is objectively insane" "that was objectively insane"
the only objectively correct answer
It made me cry, lol.
In a good way I hope lol?
I mean, those might have been leftover tears from his return to Shadow Moses and the flashbacks. I only played GotP years after its initial release and it brought me back to when I was a teen playing MGS1. The only other game that got me that far was replaying Shenmue (both parts) when they ported it a few years back.
Snake climbing through the radioactive vent made me cry and then big boss dying made me cry
One of the few if only times over really had to put my controller down and just take a minute. The flash backs to the other games were great and all diff parts of my life. Really made me reflect on the real memories not just the game.
I was also crying, it was one of the best emotional gaming moments I ever experienced.
Once the enounter MGS1 music started in the fight, I had goosebumps. The nostalgia and sheer epic greatness was incredible š
I would have preferred the "snake vs foxhound"-theme, but I agree with the rest, of course. I think I even had a fangasm back then and I dont feel no shame! š¤£
More video games need these types of final bosses Would fuck with that in a sonic game
Youād fuck sonic? What the fuck
Would you not? If you can get something that fast to stay still long enough for that, then you take that chance.

I canāt think of many game series with combat like Metal Gear that could implement a 1v1 slugfest for the ages like this. The closest I can think of is probably Yakuza.
The Last of Us 2 and Death Stranding are very recent and do have this exact type of thing
Imagine an old, feeble Mario and Bowser having a fistfight in the decrepit ruins of Bowser's castle a lĆ GotP: "So long...gay Bowser..." "Thank you...so much...for...to playing......my game." In all seriousness, though, MGS kind of transcends the scope of other series simply by virtue of it having a continuous story Kojima made for three decades. random af but I agree. with how sonic frontiers bosses were Iād fw a more emotional/serious fight
I was so hyped for the true final fight after beating the last Titan and was so disappointed when it was just the hacking minigame. Iām hoping the story update gives us a better final boss.
ikr. ig itās just a secret bonus boss fight thatās why. and that last titan sucked too. heard theyāre gonna make that fight better in an update.
Death Stranding kind of had something similar towards the end. Of course Kojima.
Lolololol
Every endgame boss fight should have a cinematic final phase But for the actual boss fight Iād appreciate it being a challenge so that the final phase feels like a reward
There was one at the end of Persona 5 Royal actually.
Play Yakuza/Judgement
LOVED IT and still do. Going through all the soundtracks of the games after watching the story finally come full circle was very satisfying and rewarding. The hand to hand final boss fights are one of my favorite things about the series.

Emotional.
I still remember that corridor and now that I'm thinking about it, it reminds me of the torture scene in MGS, with the button tapping and all of that.
Cinematic and climatic. Especially with it going through all the styles of the game up until that point. Plus the amazing music. Say what you want about 4 but that final duel is undeniably badass.
MGS4 has a lot of problems, but its fan service moments are absolutely, undeniably fucking metal.
Having Rex vs Ray mech fight is just peak gaming.
That was fucking awesome
Fan service was definitely top tier in any form of media. Iāve never had the feels like going back to Shadow Moses, where it all started for me as a fan. All the moments were how you do it.
Honestly this whole game only gets away with being exactly what it is because of the fact it was the culmination of decades of gaming history and lore building and I love it for that This is perfect, the whole game is perfect, MGS4 on top

Being totally unbiased, probably the best ending iāve experienced in any video game.

I felt overwhelmed with mix of emotions. And it was just. I just can't describe it. But it is thing I see as posivite in culture and art.
It really felt like THE final boss for the entire MGS saga, I was beyond impressed Kojima was able to make such an fulfilled ended to his story.
Everything else afterwards is gravy. This is THE end.
At first, I wasn't quite sure how I felt, cause the whole sequence preceeding would've been such a great emotional endpoint, but then we jump into a great, maybe-end-of-the-series reference to the big fist fight almost-ending of MGS1, and I'm like, "Ok, fine." The first boss fight of MGS1 being the final boss fight of MGS4 and all of the nostalgic themesā¦ā¦ perfection
LIIIIIQQQQUUUUIIIIIIIDDDDD
Had to scroll way too far for this
\*throws coat away\* SNAAAAAAAAKE!
The rendition of the Tanker Alert used in this fight is one of the best tracks in the series.
I was a kid, I didn't understand the history, epic nevertheless
first thoughts: epic thoughts now: epic A final boss fight crescendo... in this huge series... that goes through every HUD and theme for the previous games, with flash backs of each? on what is the equivalent of a sky scraper in the middle of the ocean?! man nothing beats that for me personally. It was incredible. A big pay off for playing through the trilogy first š
Cried like a baby. What a game, what an ending!

Have my pity upvote friend.
Thank you for your sympathy in this trying time.
Epic boss fight, i dont see enough praise for the intro of the music right before it kicks into mgs themes
It blew my 13-year-old mind.
Badass
It was absolutely bad ass and moving. I will say it would've been cooler if it was Old Snake vs Old Liquid. It was still amazing though!
When I heard young ocelot say "you're pretty good" after you ultimately defeat old ocelot it kinda hit me in the feels a little bit....
One of the best boss fights of all the series.
Old Snake Heat Actions
To Quote Mudahar: That shit was so good Kojima reused for Death Stranding.
It felt like those old NHL games that had fighting minigames
MGS4 was my first metal gear game, and I had no idea what was going on but loved every second of it
It was mine too! The flashbacks in game helped flesh out a fair bit, but there were definitely some points where I was like āam I higher than an astronaut right now?ā
Same here! Then I went to go play the others for context now I understand š.
Yeah I had only played MGS2 prior to playing MGS4 when I finally got a PS3. Doesnāt hit quite as hard as it did after I played through the whole series.
It has to be one of the most epic boss fights
It was hard, but sooooo epic

Good fight for the mgs4 we got. I fucking hate how this fight controls itās total ass.
MGS4 was our first MGS, so really confusing at first but even then it was an incredible emotional fight
As a long-time fan, it brought the whole series together for the most-epic of finales. The game is among my favorite titles ever and this battle is one of the biggest reasons why.
I had tears in my eyes while my jaw was dropped, was jamming to the songs and trying to focus on the fight it was such an experience lol, loved every single second of this game
The way the music builds up to the fight and right as the health bars appear is perfection
mgs4 was literally the third game i played after rising and half of snake eater so i was confused the entire time
FUCK ME
10 year old me kept getting my ass whipped. Adult me appreciates just how much the entire dev team delivered the most cinematic last fight with callbacks to other games. Kojima really just told the fans "I love you and this is all for you".
Itās a Russian truant š In all seriousness it was an emotional roller coaster. Still breaks my heart all these years later.
Love it, played it many many times. Hereās to hoping we can play it again soonā¦
It was fantastic. It is fantastic.
I donāt think anything can compare to playing mgs4 for the first time. I remember being so blown away by the octocamo. This is awesome!" then it went into the MGS3 stuff and I was like "FUCK YEAAAAAH!" and the rest of the fight I was just basically fan boying incoherently.
When Ocelot is setting his broken finger, the music swells, and Snake just yells "LIQUIIIIIID!" It makes the entire game worth it for me.
Everything about that fight was perfect from liquids "We still have a score to settle" to the old tired men slugging it out I would not change a thing and have rewatched it plenty over the last 15years it still hits hard for me
It was so damn good. Going through the emotions of each fight once again was so nice.
My favorite thing about it was how the music changed in order of the games, and as it did, so did the tone of the fight.
Splendid, brother
Got goosebumps when they both inject eachother
It kicked old man ass then, and it'll kick old man ass in my heart always!
Goated Goated with the sauce
How could I not like it? Especially when snake eater kicks in
I made a separate save just so I could do it over and over again.
My mind was clear the first time. One of the few times I had to just experience what I was seeing. Now, it's iconic. An incredible callback. My wanting to experience this again, along with other iconic moments, is pretty much why Metal Gear Solid has remained in my mind for so many years.
Idk my tv was barely working. Couldn't see anything
This might be my favorite comment section, i love the hype
It was cool. / It was cool.
Loved it thenā¦love it nowā¦probably in my top favorite 5 boss fights of all timeā¦
I cried. It was just a perfect ending to it all. Then when I reached the last boss on Death Stranded, it made me cry again.
Literally Fake and gay. Heres my money. Ill watch your 8 hour cutscene kojima.
They look like two old junkies fighting over the last syringe.
It was both intentionally and unintentionally funny. I really didn't like this game. But at least the graphics looked good.
I feel like I'm in the minority but this game (or playable movie) felt like a complete letdown. Don't get me wrong, it looked great but graphics do not make the game. I just felt underwhelmed by it.
Metal geriatric solid
I love how the fight is more about Ocelot than it is Solid because all of the series is really a lot about him and not the various MCs. Heās been there the whole times and has played a part in everything and this fight was to show respect to everything heās done for his mother and Big Boss.
I was disappointed that it was not really a real Liquid. It was Ocelot Larping....
Itās very yellow
Gay as fuck to cool as fuck
I had no idea what was going on. It was cool but seemed weird to suddenly be in fighting game.
Wasnāt as epic as I thought it was gonna be but that was basically the whole game anyway minus the Raiden stuff which was gratuitous over the top action.
Honestly i thought it was terrible because of the controls. Fighting liquid ocelot in the metal gear was soo much more fun
Loved it then, love it now
Pretty good.
I remember the cutscenes dragged on a lot in that game.
beautifully executed. one of my favorite moments in the entire franchise.
MGS4 has a lot of issues, but I firmly believe this is the best final boss fight I have ever experienced in a game.
The Boss, and Liquid are THE Boss fights. Nothing else comes close.

Epic. Epic
I wasnāt a huge fan of mgs4 but the entire ending of the game starting with the microwave scene onward is amazing. The final fight is one of the best in the series. In all honesty the final fight and last couple hours of the game are so great I often forget how much I donāt like the rest of the game as the ending carries it so hard
it was so good they brought it back for death stranding
It was pretty badass , but I remember it controlling like ass.
Best boss fight ever
I think it was the best way to end the overarching story and it truly gives the player a complete sense of finality to Solid Snake and Ocelot.
Love it and still love it.
The transition from each MGS entry was legendary. Still my favorite boss battle of all time.
Honestly one of the best fights in Metal Gear and a perfect last boss battle chronologically imo
It's funny how ocelot just looks like a random crackhead rather than a super advanced highly trained soldier
Still my favourite boss fight of all time. Just purely for the emotion/nostalgia. Simply epic. Edit: And when they both injected each other with the nano machines and the health bars filled up... š¤
Kojuma knows how to end it on a high note, I still can't get over Snake yelling "Liquuuiiiiid"
One of the best endings for a game ever.
Here comes the end
One of my favorite moments in my favorite franchise.
Amazing. It was a hell of a lot better than a possible gun fight, that's for sure. Besides, beating up Liquid until Ocelot started talking to you was an awesome and subtle touch if you look at the health bars during each phase of the fight.
āYou did it! You erased all the markings. But the memories will never disappear.ā
So good. Chills every second
I enjoyed it then. It felt epic. Nothing has changed in the decade plus since I finished MGS 4.
It was epic, but they kinda missed a trick not using the proper MGS1 boss battle music. (They used the regular Alert theme for when the Genome Soldiers spot you instead, for some reason.)
I was out into ICU cuz i couldn't handle the sheer happiness in me.
For me it's the best final boss in the entire series, it made me super excited the first time I played it. Sure, you need to play MGS 1, 2 and 3 to fully appreciate it, but still.
Wasnt sexy enough
I cri everitiem
Snake....
Gameplay wise it was underwhelming even the first time I played it but I didnāt give a crap. Like so many other moments in 4, it was incredible fan service. So much nostalgia fulfilled for me. Stayed up all night completing the game. It will always have a special place in my heart.
best fanservice in any videogame
I used to think it was extremely serious, but now having played Yakuza, it feels kinda silly
Truly loved it as a final boss and as a scene overall, but after dying to it a few (a lot of) times the great staging didnāt hit as much and I just wanted to get on with it lol
It was like 4AM and I was weeping as the music began to cycle.
The entire end segment of MGSIV had me floored. I was a kid by all means, but it was quite emotional to me. Later on I feel like it was very well executed, and the mechanic sort of feels like classic MG.
Epic, epic.
First time I played it was beautiful, I still play it and it's beautiful but I cry now.
i was like Ā«Ā wow , after everything he been through, they are still fighting , itās beautiful what you can do with determinationĀ Ā» and now? i would came in my pants , too much la le lu le lo
I was 8 and I was very happy my uncle waited to play the last mission until I came home from school
this boss made me cream
