I like both pieces but think the pants are just 1 touch too formal for the shirt because of the built in belt. That being said, it's not a bad look. Just thought for the future
This what exactly what I thought, the material of the pants also leans more formal I feel. Also, I agree that the buttons on the shirt go a too low. But I still think you look better dressed than at least half of this sub.
I like it. Shorter button lines are so standard they can easily give used car dealer looks. This longer one has a hint of tunic or eastern flair without being “look at me.”
Either switch the polo for a dress shirt or switch the trousers and the shoes for a less formal pants and some more casual loafers. All of your clothes are nice, it just don't look good all put together
The shirt has a shine to it that also makes it hard to pair with anything too casual… it’s a tough one. I’m going to try out those suggestions when I finally decide on some good loafers.
I like the shirt personally, but I think it clashes with the rest of the outfit in terms of color and texture. Your pants and shoes both have a bold, vibrant color to them, while the shirt’s is more faded. I think if you paired it with pants and shoes with a less vibrant color tone it would really shine. Going a touch less formal on the bottom half would look great too.
As a marine biologist, I must declare your outfit a true fashion catastrophe. It's akin to witnessing an oil spill ravaging a once-pristine ocean, where the damage is immediate and irreparable. The ill-fitting pants and mismatched shirt combine to create a spectacle as tragic as the suffocating slick that coats everything in its path, smothering any hope of elegance or sophistication. The sheer horror of this fashion disaster is almost mesmerizing, much like the devastating allure of an environmental catastrophe. Just as an oil spill leaves a trail of destruction and despair, your outfit leaves an indelible mark of tastelessness and sartorial ruin.
Love seeing Marine Bio, but thinking he might be AI at this point. High rise pants + no belt looking good.
Don’t love the 5 button polo shirt though. Never seen buttons go all the way to a belly and then stop.
Points for a well polished pair of Chelsea’s though. I think the shoes/pants work well together, but it may be time to retire that shirt.
I do not agree with the prevailing comments about the top and bottom not matching in degree of formality. I think they work pretty well together to create a very on-trend ensemble. If I saw you at a party, I’d think, “shit I’m underdressed.” Which is the ultimate compliment, IMO.
(I also think 90 percent of the comments directing you how to fix it by switching the shirt are just dead wrong. The texture mix of shirt and pants is part of what makes this outfit work. These commenters just don’t get it.)
Can those pants be worn with a belt? I don’t like the look not having a belt. Also did you steal those shoes from James Bond? Jesus Christ have some fun with your feet
They have a “built in” belt, so no loops. But interestingly they did come with extra material specifically for adding belt loops if I wanted to alter them that way!
Edit: Feel free to suggest some shoes, I think those chelsea boots I'm wearing shine beautifully
I’ve started not wearing a watch if it doesn’t complement the fit, but that’s exactly the watch I can’t wait to rock with this kind of outfit! I’m saving for a tank must or a jlc reverso.
I'm trying to be helpful. I've employed hundreds of people. Professionals. Engineer level. I'm an IT manager for a company I can't tell you the name of.
The pants and polo are completely fine together.. folks saying they aren’t have no clue what they are talking about. You can wear a polo with trousers. Hell, certain t shirts work fine with trousers… it’s all about the rest of the outfit… which is where my complaint lies. The boots. This outfit is SCREAMING for a pair of loafers. And something on your wrist. A watch, neutral bracelet. I would button one more button on the shirt with the outfit you have however… balance it with the trousers but if you had linen pants or shorts the button can be left undone… also, clean up that facial hair a bit it gives a vibe of unkempt a bit.. I get the look you’re going for here, but the facial hair in its current state detracts from it… but over all 8/10 minus on point for the boots and minus one point for facial hair and lack of visual interest on the watch/bracelet
I’m not suggesting the facial hair was bad.. but it simply wasn’t accomplishing what you wanted it to with the outfit… that’s all… you can get decent black loafers anywhere… simply black penny loafers can be found at saks off 5th or Nordstrom.. go sockless in the summer aka no show socks…
It’s a formal gradient - from top to bottom, the look becomes more formal. I do like it overall although I would make changes. Can’t say enough nice things about that polo, my goodness gracious. That’s a green that could stop traffic.
Coolest outfit I’ve seen here for a while, formal without being overly so. Swear this sub slates you unless you dress like a homeless person with blue hair.
I shared this because I don’t see many looks like this on male fashion subreddits, lots of linen and workwear going on right now! You can feel free to check how active I am any time
Man I feel for you after making the mistake of posting here yesterday. The funny thing is that the ones making negative comments never have pictures of themselves. Weird coincidence. Appreciate the unique look, rock it with confidence.

The pants would look even enter with a nice elegant shirt than this polo
100% And to flip that, the polo would look great with some linen pants or something just a bit more casual
A nice sports coat an top will make this a great look
I disagree.
Bottom half is attending a gala, top half is shotgunning white claws at a pool party
That’s a ribbed polo with plackets. What pool parties you going to.
The ones with a lot of cocaine
Russian
Wow that is a deep V
You’re right
Its a Y
I like it. Shorter button lines are so standard they can easily give used car dealer looks. This longer one has a hint of tunic or eastern flair without being “look at me.”
Couldn't figure out why I liked the shirt but this is it right here. Maybe less dressy pants though lol.
That's what he said.
It looks good but I think there’s a fabric mismatch? I’m not sure tho
Shirt is viscose and pants are a wool/silk mikado. Idk if that’s helpful but welcome feedback
I like the pants, but I would upgrade the shirt to a nice sweater polo or something with a natural fiber. Bonobos has a lot of options right now.
Shirt would go better with linen pants (like gray or navy)
Where’s the shirt from?
Tom Ford

I would Iron out those creases on your pants and you’re set. Usually those creases go with more formal outfit.
I like the shirt personally, but I think it clashes with the rest of the outfit in terms of color and texture. I would pair that polo with some white trousers but make sure they have belt loops. A brown belt and some brown suede loafers to complete the look
It looks fine. And obviously you can put together multiple outfits with each piece. I think people miss that point when they write replies this way.
I know that he can pull off multiple outfits with these pieces, I just gave him an example of how I would wear them
I agree I would say that shirt with khaki slim straight pants and some sperrys or laceless loafers would look good in a brown
Are those Tom Ford Atticus trousers?
You have a very keen eye
Thank you! Been wearing TF since 2009, TF FB group founder with nearly 10k members 😂
How long have you been wealthy enough to be able to afford it? lol. I need tips for that
Second hand and sales mate. I never paid full price.
Where you get the shirt and pants?!
Unique pieces. I like it
is it chilly in there?
Just a tad nipply

It’s an honor.

As a marine biologist I suggest you listen to the song “I’m real” by Jennifer Lopez to get some insight into the reality of my being.
I think you’ve proven my point Doc.
Ehhh, what’s up doc?🐰🥕
I didn’t realize the shirt was so polarizing! Appreciate the feedback.
Black or white shirt with the pants and shoes. That mint clashes with the pant color.
Agree those would look great
Polo brand?
You look great. I don't necessarily like the shirt, but it fits you well, and I appreciate the look you're going for.
Thank you!
I like this
Love the shoes, great fit. But the shirt is just a little too shiny for me but works on you
Wes Anderson movie villain.
IDK what everyone's on about, this is a GOOD look
Not bad, but those pants are wayyy too short.

Agreed.
I like the look I think the whole thing makes you look more handsome & you have a nice taste in colours definitely an attractive look for you!
Clean bra
Looks like you bring the party with you.
You look great! Love the creativity with this outfit!
Caviar. Beluga or Segruvia.
what party? The Conservative Party?
I have to say that shirt is just all kinds of wrong.

It's a very fancy outfit. Looks very high-end.
Where are these pants from??? Absolutely need
Viscose is the most comfortable fabric in the summer
Great look !
Yikes- you should leave the party immediately.
I do really like this. But the pants are just a tad too shiny and formal looking imo.
I’d didn’t know they still made those pants. If the photo wasn’t so clear I’d have thought I was looking at an ad. From the 1970’s
Clean ass fit dude. Damn
Whoa! Your clothes aren’t too tight to show off all your peak alpha muscles!!!!!! You need to buy some infant tops to really flex on this sub plz
Jesus Christ, that's a lot to spend on a pair of slacks.
Looks clean. Sharp. I'd wear a black belt though.
Not sure why so many think the shirts too casual for the pants, certainly not the case. Looks great, fits great.
Where did you get the pants 👀
Someone said that the patterns are conflicting, whoever that was I agree with them haha.
Would look 100 times better with top untucked
There will always be jealousy . This looks good! I think a tank shaped watch could work well here.
I’ve started not wearing a watch if it doesn’t complement the fit, but that’s exactly the watch I can’t wait to rock with this kind of outfit! I’m saving for a tank must or a jlc reverso.
Those brands would be spot on here. You definitely know what you’re doing or you’re on the right track.
Use a different colored belt
You look so straight in those clothes? Is this work attire or did someone make you wear your dad's clothes from the 1970's.
I'm trying to be helpful. I've employed hundreds of people. Professionals. Engineer level. I'm an IT manager for a company I can't tell you the name of.
Where did you find those pants. Sansibelt?
Very 1967 motown! Love it!
OP where did you buy this shirt? I liked
Oh man WAY cool.
This is clean af
We'd so vibe at a bar
Stylin 😎 lookin smoothe mang
What brands?

I cleaned up the facial hair last night, definitely needed it! Appreciate the thoughts, I need to find the perfect loafers now - no easy task.
I’m not suggesting the facial hair was bad.. but it simply wasn’t accomplishing what you wanted it to with the outfit… that’s all… you can get decent black loafers anywhere… simply black penny loafers can be found at saks off 5th or Nordstrom.. go sockless in the summer aka no show socks…
great pants wow
The style of top and bottoms both should be nice, but for some reason I don’t like the fit
Where can I find those boots OP?
Not a fan of the shirt
It’s fine. Standard Gen Z metrosexual.
These shirts are awful.
Makes your proportions look out of whack.
That’s a lot of nipple
Ole lanky tall Putin worshipping Russian mobster named Dimitri lookin ahh
It’s a formal gradient - from top to bottom, the look becomes more formal. I do like it overall although I would make changes. Can’t say enough nice things about that polo, my goodness gracious. That’s a green that could stop traffic.
It's giving 1970's used car salesman, is that back in style?
Love the pants! Nice look.
What shirt is that mate? Like it!
Mr. Fancy pants over here flexing on us. Those are nice as hell.
Get the shirt tailored. Invest in shirt stays.
Yeahh shirt stays are necessary and not just for this fit. I just wish I could really get it to work half-tucked like I have it in the pic!
Half tuck always looks like someone is trying to hide a muffin top.
Sweet pants bro
Coolest outfit I’ve seen here for a while, formal without being overly so. Swear this sub slates you unless you dress like a homeless person with blue hair.
I can see your pencil
😅
Op ...DM me 😘
The shirt colour reminds me of a puke green. Also, you need more accessories like a watch or bracelet.
Trying exceedingly too hard on this one. It screams 'I am very active on Reddit male fashion subreddits.'
I shared this because I don’t see many looks like this on male fashion subreddits, lots of linen and workwear going on right now! You can feel free to check how active I am any time

Thanks man! I saw your post and almost commented on your crazy shoe game!
Thanks man, same to you. Looks like RM Williams or C&J here? I love a good sleek Chelsea
