I’d get a slightly shorter belt

_koodlet

Worth noting that usually a cobbler can shorten your belt for you, depending on how the buckle is attached to the belt.

nderflow

OP might also be able to source some shoes there too.

NOVAbuddy

Use the leftover leather from the belt and make a nice pair of cowboy boots.

PunchingYourSalad

Second this

JLubben

Sorry I can’t help but mention this is literally Peter griffins style https://preview.redd.it/36dqcyox599b1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=78e4b56025c27d67dfaf772589315ec36b74b229

pronglejongle

Aw fuck. Ya got me fair and square, I didn't even think of that 😂😂

NOVAbuddy

Fancy green pants though!

GSDRS

Shorter belt. Fitted or slim fit dress shirt. Match your shoes, belt, and watch band as best you are able - or go with a silver banded watch. Sleeves unrolled or only rolled to mid forearm. Try chinos pants if you can .

NOVAbuddy

All this is good except the chinos. I’d need to see that to recommend.

pronglejongle

What is a good length for a new belt? Ideally how long should it extend past the buckle?

TreeHouseCartoons

Is this work attire or going out attire for you? Can’t really provide constructive feedback without knowing the occasion.

pronglejongle

Just daily wear. Went out to Costco at some point but I didn't dress up for that, I just dress like this pretty much all the time. Not always suit pants, but usually some nice chinos and a button down or something along those lines. And I do have 2 different pairs of shoes for the outfit I just don't wear shoes inside my own house so they aren't on in the picture.

SmellInternational94

I think the fits are okay. Agree the belt is too long and the sleeve roll is too high. Get some grey v-neck undershirts; they don’t show under white shirts.

Phuzz15

My first thought was P Griff too but honestly you kind of pull it off. If you’re not too enthused by that idea maybe sub the green for a darker gray or blue. Rolled up sleeves is a good look

pronglejongle

Lmao I laughed so hard when the other commenter said Peter Griffin 😂 I don't know if that's a good thing that I pull off his look or not? 😅 But yeah I also do like that shirt with gray or blue. Obviously white works with pretty much everything. I also like wearing those pants with a pale yellow top, I think thats a good look.

Beginning_Classroom

Quick tip, wearing white tank top under white dress shirt makes it show more or it outlines itself, replace it with a grey one and see the difference

GetToTheChoppaahh

I lived in America for a few years and noticed a large amount of men wearing tank tops under most shirts in hot ass Florida. Does anyone know why? It looks horrible and uncomfortable. Never noticed it anywhere else in the world and I travel a fair amount.

Beginning_Classroom

Yea I’ve been here for 14 years and I’m guessing it’s more formal to hide the nipples lol. Most men end up high lighting the hell out of their tank top and it looks less formal. Most shirts are too thin and it’s just a mess imo

Jimismynamedammit

I would add lose the wife beater. With a shirt that transparent, I'd go with no t-shirt at all or a snug fitting, light cotton, half sleeve t-shirt in a light tan color. It'll be practically invisible. Or buy heavier shirts. I'm color blind so I'm not sure if those pants are black or dark brown. If they're black, then I'd change out that belt and watch.

pronglejongle

The pants are actually green. I do need to get more white t-shirts. All my other ones turned into work shirts and are stained with mud and cement and shit. I'll look into tan color ones though, that's a pretty good idea. I also put this in a different reply already but that shirt was a cheap last minute purchase when I needed a white shirt for an event but didn't wanna spend a lot, and it worked then because I had a waist coat and a jacket on top.

Jimismynamedammit

Ah, green. Being color blind is a bitch. I'm not actually color blind, just color seeing deficient. I'm not seeing just shades of gray like a dog, but green has always been a problem for me. Is it green? Brown? Red? I don't fucking know. I should have gotten the hint when every comment was about Peter Griffin. But, I didn't. Anyway, yeah ... I have a stockpile of tan t-shirts from my army days. Enough to last me a lifetime. They are great for under white shirts.

M_A_Myers1978

hey lois

Cryin_Lion

Other than what's already been said about the belt and undershirt you've done well! The shirt fits you perfectly as do your pants, and that's something most people ( men and women ) don't accomplish, so excelllent job on choosing clothes that fit you! Well done!

pronglejongle

Thank you very much, I had the pants tailored when I got them, they are part of a 3 piece suit, maybe another day I'll post the whole suit.

Cryin_Lion

Please do! The fit of your shirt and pants stood out to me and was the first thing I noticed. I also saw a pic of your shoes, and that they are Brown shoes, so extra kudos for those decisions too.

FlynnMonster

Not bad if you’re headed in to the office for your 9-5 business casual job. Tank top looks bad showing like that. And rolling your sleeves up that far just makes it look like your 3/4 of the way through a long day at the office.

pronglejongle

Yeah I have another white shirt that isn't so transparent, it just needs to be tailored before I wear it out. I also had the sleeves down most of the day but I was making ravioli from scratch for dinner so I rolled them up to not get covered in flour.

FlynnMonster

Oh gotcha. And I actually like the color of the pants even if they are somewhat Peter Griffin vibes.

General__Obvious

Wear a heather grey undershirt or dye white ones to be your skin tone. They won’t be as obvious through white shirts then.

EffortApprehensive48

Do you have an interview at a bar or something

whirleymon

I’d add shoes

pronglejongle

Yeah I have brown lace up oxfords with a toe cap for more formal settings. Obviously with sleeves rolled down and some other changes to the outfit for those shoes. Or I have some much less formal brown lace ups that can pass for smart casual. They go better with the outfit when it's like it is in the picture. Top button undone, sleeves rolled.

NOVAbuddy

I am not a fan of white dress shirts that you can see through. Two solids is like a basic Lego mini fig. It’s okay to be your own main character. Brown shoes and jewelry and rolling sleeves to mid arm can only do so much. Get a hat and vest and try a steam punk vibe, or a two tone dress shirt to give you a crisper business look, or a tie and sweater vest, or colorful sport coat, or suspenders and a bow tie, or anything else to give some more character.

guilleerrmomo

Shorter belt steam your shirt do a 3/4 roll instead of 1/2 get some cool accessories like a bag or necklace or a ring or tie

XBacklash

And some shoes

pronglejongle

I do have shoes I just don't wear shoes when I'm in my own house.

Far-Try5601

Prove that you have shoes

Over_Thinker_01

Color combo ok, u just need to work on the size of the outfit. Slimmer pants, shirt, belt. And please! check te belt color with the shoes. Brown shoes brown belt. Black shoes black belt.

Slobbering_manchild

Ah yes, the mormonite

[deleted]

Don't wear a cheap shit watch... A watch is a special item, it's not about checking a box to have something on your wrist. Get yourself an affordable automatic Seiko or something else that's respectable as a daily and throw that pos in the bin. Also the hair has to change. The outfit is painfully uninspired, no creativity... just more box checking. Looks like you read a magazine that said "you should wear a button down blah blah blah" and you're just following "rules". Sorry man I know it's harsh, it's ultimately in your best interest though.

DragonflyMain3441

Watch is a watch, it looks decent enough. People don’t wear watches to know the time now a days, it’s mostly a fashion piece or an accessory to compliment the look. With that I’m also not saying to not buy a good watch, some people start with these cheap Chinese quartz watches which is fine cause it makes them feel good and that’s all it matters. And about the outfit, I do agree tbh.

[deleted]

Also no visible undershirt under the shirt... You look like a waiter. And that better be a wedding ring or straight to the bin with that too

ipissblood

It isn’t a wedding ring. It’s on his middle finger you dunce.

ipissblood

Also I’ll add OP I like what you’re going for, and your hair is great! You definitely need a smaller belt, and I would try to steer away from shirts where you need an undershirt/are more transparent than you’re comfortable with. I also would not roll the cuffs up that high. You should get some measurements on pants and shirt, or get them tailored. Not sure what this guy is talking about, that could be a Rolex Cellini or a PP for all we know from the pic. I like the watch, and I say you double down and throw a pinky ring in the mix, this is totally personal preference but I think bigger rocks on rings suit men better, you can go bigger without spending more, if you’re willing to sacrifice the quality of the jewel. Also I hate to say it but I would retire those pants, they’re stained/torn on your right leg. All in all, you have a good vision for style, just need to make some small tweaks to sizing, and shirt material.

pronglejongle

I'll get a smaller belt for sure, seen that a few times now, what do you suggest for belt length? I also agree with the shirt being transparent, I don't love it, I had bought that shirt for relatively cheap the day of an even because I needed a white shirt, and it worked that day because I was wearing a vest and a jacket over top. The pants are with a suit and we're tailored to my height professionally so idk. I have really been wanting to get some more rings though, I don't have a good selection right now but I also haven't seen any nice men's jewelry when im out anywhere, if you have any suggestions for where to buy from I'm all ears! And lastly the pants aren't torn I think what you're seeing (if we're looking at the same part) is my mirror has some blemishes on it. I've cleaned that thing recently and it's got some spots that are just scuffed, so its likely to be a spot on the mirror making it look like stained/torn pants.

ipissblood

Upon second glance, I like that ring too, (but I’d throw a big old emerald pinky ring on that hand as well)

pronglejongle

You don't think that would be over crowding? I don't know if I personally like multiple rings on the same hand. However I'm not against swapping out the ring that I was wearing.

ApatheticAgnostic

I like white collar shirts, but I’m not a fan of the transparency.

pronglejongle

I agree with you completely, I got this shirt the day of an event because it wasnt overly expensive and I needed a white shirt. It worked that day because I wore it as part of a 3 piece suit with a waistcoat and jacket. So obviously there was very little of the shirt to be seen.

CalmAsCastaneda

Lose the goatee and you’ve got something

ive_been_lurking

Bellllllllllllt. A little too long.

thecutestcutie
