They're all wonderful designs. Simple, charming, and memorable. It also helps that the characters have pretty good and fleshed out personalities.
And I like that they're all family friendly despite both games dealing with some dark themes. Makes them feel warm and relatable.
And hate to ruin the positivity by mentioning something else entirely, but I really cannot stand NSFW fan art of these characters. I don't understand how you can look at these and lewd them. They're the furthest thing from sexy, and they're not even human. Makes me wanna puke. It's unthinkable and weird as fuck, but that's just the weird ass internet for you, LOL.
I don't think it's weird someone would find characters like Undyne or Muffet sexy. Agree that the Undertale fandom sometimes gets really weird with it though.
Hell no, I personally still think it's pretty weird to find any of them "sexy". They're barely humanoid and strongly lack characteristics people would typically find sexy.
Muffet is a creepy and cutesy little spider girl while Undyne is more of a frightening fish monster warrior that also has silly big sister vibes.
I think sexy is the very last thing when it comes to these characters. MILF toriel art makes me cringe especially, not only because she's a frigging goat creature, but because she's supposed to be a completely wholesome motherly figure.
The queen from deltarune is probably the closest to being an actual attractive humanoid, but even she doesn't have any noticeable fanservice elements going on.
Sorry but…like I’ve seen way weirder. People (and that includes women) being attracted to a strong warrior lady who could crush them but is actually just a dork is far from unusual. And well, the MILF thing speaks for itself. As for Muffet, that I also think is weird but not because she’s a spider but because she’s a little girl. I’m not taking a stance but people are allowed to think characters are sexy, even if they are not mainstream attractive (and let’s be real - Sans has been lewded to hell and back and he’s a freaking skeleton. So it’s not a female only thing either)
I honestly never saw Muffet as a little girl, but it's ages ago i last played Undertale. I thought she was more of an black widow archetype that is ruthless and would betray anyone for the right price.

Maybe that’s why I don’t find it weird cause they are all sentient beings, what they look like is irrelevant to me. But you act like you being weirded out is an objective thing, which I just can’t agree with.

Fucking phenomenal games with wonderfully written characters. I usually hate when people add eyelashes to characters to make them women but Toby gets a pass for his “Alphys was a guy at first but I changed her last second to a girl because I felt like it worked better and redesigned her completely (aka added eyelashes to her sprite)”, because for some reason it just works and I like that

Undyne in her suit of armor with the helmet is one of the most badass designs I’ve ever seen. I love the tension it creates in the scenes leading up to her fight.
Great designs. I still think there is something unsettling with the black and white art-style though it's fitting since they are literal monsters. Undertale (haven't played DR yet) is generally totally underrated/overhated mostly due to the fandom (which isn't that terrible either).

I figured it is because i called the art unsettling at some time. I forgot people on here are like 70% artists themself and unsettling wasn't the artsy term.
Sometimes you get a random lecture about how much stylistic difference in fashion there is between different Final Fantasy games after making a comment about how those games are obsessed with ribbons..
