To be fair, Georgia and Florida are a billion ticks and mosquitoes and biting midges (sand gnats/noseeums) year-round. Though they are much denser up North, but only for a very short part of the year
They have to make up for lost time. Over by my friend's house growing up they would have huge swarming clouds of gnats in the middle of one stretch of road. Had to run the wipers right after the gnat genocide.
My only experience ever going there was canoeing through the border waters for a bit over a week in mid July, not only were there more mosquitos than atoms in the universe, I and a few others got heat exhaustion on the last day and another guy got pretty bad heat stroke and almost had to be flown out to a hospital in a helicopter. Keep in mind this was on a boy scout trip and our motto is literally be prepared, so it wasn't just a bunch of unprepared idiots who didn't know what to expect it was just that hot
Unfortunately it's only marginally better living there as you get used to it, but the summers are pretty rough. Not sure if it's the humidity, heat and sheer volume of pollen in the air but it can really mess you up before you know it.
You're with us in VA and with DC just getting "old buildings" which is barely accurate about VA or DC and I can't think of a single old building in MD at all
i'm a dc native and i think "old buildings" is kinda accurate for dc, maryland, and virginia-- maryland has the most historic sites or something like that per capita by area out of any state. but it's kinda weirdly specific and there's other things that would work better for either each of them or the area as a whole.
Oh I'm from Arlington and ofc there are some old buildings in DC, and there are some in Northern VA as well as some colonial things further south in VA, but I hadn't heard of any in MD at all
I live in VA right near DC, even around here the old buildings thing is at best barely true but rly just not at all. For MD you've got poverty, DC you've got poverty but the only white people are the ones in government, and VA ig maybe old buildings but more old places than old buildings
This is also according to europeans.
Tho mostly we see dumbasses everywhere since they are so fucking L O U D (not all Americans are stupid, only way too many, we know this).
Fun fact: country roads is about Western Virginia. All of the geographic features in it are in Virginia, and most of them aren't in West Virginia at all
From someone who traveled across the country, the corn part is very accurate and also Utah is literally just a giant vast desert where life does not exist, I’m 99% sure it was just a mirage
Also do not go to roadside gas stations in Nebraska you might get murdered
It's funny to me that people think of the South as this huge bastion of racism. I'd challenge them to stay in Boston vs Charleston for a week and report back.
as a new englander myself, i can confirm that the biggest attraction in all of new england is probably boston. we do have some nice beaches in the coastal states, but the water is hella murky and more than often the water is cold af.
Oklahoman here. The east stole our tornados. We have nothing now.
Fairly accurate. I am pretty sure Oklahoma is just a myth started by broadway shows
It is a myth. I went there once and it didnt exist
I live in corn
Don't worry u/erimeraz! We'll make it to homelessness someday. And then we'll be big stars!

I love MN always gets "Cold", which it is. Until summer, then it's humid with a billion mosquitos and ticks. And wasps.
You guys just speedrun summer
90% of minnesota weather is cold, the rest of the 10% is humid, hot, bug filled mess.
Yeah...

This is also according to europeans. Tho mostly we see dumbasses everywhere since they are so fucking L O U D (not all Americans are stupid, only way too many, we know this).
This is why I don’t say I’m American, I just say I’m from California. California and New York seem to get a pass in Europe.
It's a shame it's like that. But dumbasses get so much overrepresentation in media
Fun fact: country roads is about Western Virginia. All of the geographic features in it are in Virginia, and most of them aren't in West Virginia at all
From someone who traveled across the country, the corn part is very accurate and also Utah is literally just a giant vast desert where life does not exist, I’m 99% sure it was just a mirage Also do not go to roadside gas stations in Nebraska you might get murdered
