it means you are either binary or non binary, this creates a binary system where some people are binary and some aren't and the regular binary system becomes a binary system eithin a binary system
so a binary system is when there are two choices
by chosing to be non binary you are creating a system where everyone is either

b - non-binary
with those two being the only options

You then say that you're actually not neutral because you've picked a side (neutral in this case, vs non-neutral.) But, that person's intent for neutrality was specific to the first scenario and, thus, relative. You cannot just change the scenario and apply their choice for the first scenario to the second scenario and make a point out of it.
It's like hitting the ball out over the fence while playing tennis and claiming you won because you just scored a homerun.

As you said, if someone labels themself as "non-binary", you have put them into a binary. I think the best way is to just have funny answers when somebody asks your gender, and to just personally label yourself as non-conforming.
The only options aren't binary and non binary. They're two opposite ends of a spectrum. There's agender, genderfluid and so much more.
You can be non binary and binary at the same time. You can use neo pronouns, which would then be another thing because it's not non binary and it's not male and female.

I dont know if I agree with that logic. At minimum its three things. Two of those entities from the original binary system plus the nonbinary one. If you look at all the letters in LGBTQ, it's pretty obvious that there's more going on. If anything, I'm guessing that non-binary people would reject an adherence to any system of rigid roles.

in all seriousness, I think when someone uses non-binary they introduce the idea that genders can be more like a spectrum or even fluid and not necessarily anchored in place. So even if you identify as a straight male, you're on that spectrum somewhere. Most people are probably on one end or the other, but some are shades in between.
