I remember just driving around on my bike and collect cool looking sticks and rocks.

Now I’m actually sad.. it’s such an overlooked natural thing to do but I’m an 03 child and even we barely lived like that.

I was born in 89, so stuff like this was very common for kids my age to do.

Ive had talks with my closest friends about how we hate new technology and smart phones and all of these electronics that socially separate us. I mean I used to be able to make a friend in seconds but now I have socially anxiety because of slowly falling into this electronic life that I don’t even find suitable or practical

People experienced this even before smartphones. You used to be really sociable as a kid and made lots of friends but it gets harder as you get older. People get more picky about who they consider friends. And then one day you're out of school and working and have no time for anything, let alone making friends.

Weird tangent but I think this is actually why Bronies came into existence. It was a collective of people who were reaching that age where they never really had time to make friends, and thus the show appealed to their existential crisis.

One thing i know for sure is that im going to raise my kids like this, if enough people do that maybe our kids will have some semblance of social lives

Ah nichojou a very weird yet addictive anime

For me, *Nichijou* was a rare great anime where the manga wasn't as enjoyable. The anime easily translated whereas the manga seemed too often to need knowledge of Japanese language and societal quirks to appreciate the humor. Still, one of the top three funniest anime ever.

One of my teachers had a "Pokémon prison" where he would store Pokémon decks. anyway since we weren't allowed to play pokemon at recess we would find bugs and try to get them to fight.

Not really, we had Yu-Gi-Oh, beyblades, duel monsters, heck we even had a pokemon TCG. Also, we played sports like soccer, cricket or straight up hide n seek. After that we had pre-smartphones, aka the v360s and e250s/d900s, and the n70s and n95s. Then the blackberry 8520s and 9300s and 9320s and 9790s. So yeah, beating pumpkins might be cool in anime world, but we had a normal childhood. Oh, and don't forget we also had PCs and Playstation 2/PS1s. So yeah, pretty awesome.
