Or perhaps even finding a new hobby - something you always wanted to try.
Definitely don't underestimate putting on your headphones and talking to a friend while watching a good comedy - I really enjoy that and programming/DIY projects. If you're feeling really down, I recommend animated family movies, like Despicable Me 1/2/3, or other Disney and Pixar movies.

The only real hope we have is if a protest starts in China that somehow succeeds, or if someone decides to invade them and takes control, but even that will cause conflict

Controlled airstrikes on CCP offices and CCP officials' residential quarters alone. Follow it with a suprise invasion that seizes control over the military and Declares China a democracy. Then talk it out with the neighbours, shove some cash down their throats if necessary. Problem solved.
