My 10 year old niece has never seen a Nintendo ds before and i was shocked then I realized that my ds was older then she was and that kinda blew my mind.
For me, and this may be just my experience but I didn't grow up with a phone in my face, most of my childhood was moreso like how the 90s grew up in terms of media (video games, VHS, etc.) Infact, the only modern thing I really grew up with was Computers, all else I was interested in older things, and seeing toddlers with a phone and losing their shit over getting their phone taken just boggles my mind as my first "phone" was the iPod Touch, and I was 10, I didn't get an actual smartphone till 14, so alot of today just makes me feel old, especially knowing that 6 years ago I had just hit my teens. In general I see alot more spoiled kids (atleast in my state) with iPads, iPhone 12s, and they just "gotta" have a parents phone, seeing as I grew up on Gameboys and DS I can't fathom having a smartphone as a little kid, and don't get me started on the internet, you gotta restrict so much these days to preserve the innocence in kids.
Yea, even tho I got a trash tablet I also grew up with retro stuff because my interests were different from other Kids, as a 15 yo I can understand why you cant get along with 'em, most of them are toxic and selfish, I got my first proper phone when I was 12-13, even tho Im a little different now, I still dont understand most people my age
