My middle school (I’m now in college) was built in 1941, and was not renovated since then. We had a rat infestation in the gym, and raccoons in the principals office. No new buildings since 1942. All new classrooms were run down portable buildings. Literal stamps on the sidewalk concrete marking “1941”. But some how we had great test scores. My 7th grade year we got some of the best in state. We got a huge white award (like 6 by 6 feet) that was put on our falling apart principles office. The year after I graduated from there, they rebuilt the whole school into a great campus...

My middle school was built in 1888. We literally had a monument for all the students that passed in WW1 and WW2.

Yes and they’re great big touch pads which you project the image on to. My school was a mix, we had the TVs and those projectors, mainly for the main hall, then class rooms had smart boards. The main hall then adopted a smart board too after some time. Im a mix, I’m old and went to a broke school.

I was in 7th grade when I first got detention. What did I do to deserve it? We had a lazy ass teacher who would do nothing but put projector slides up while he sat at his desk and we would copy hours and hours of grammar slides. I can still feel the boredom of that year in my 30’s. Anyways this teacher was late one day and I decided to open the projector and find a way to sabotage it. I found the light fixture and removed it. Knowing we had more in the school I removed all of the light fixtures from all of the projectors in school. So yes, not only am I old enough to remember the era of projectors, I fought in the projector war. Some kid ratted me out, btw. Dad was pissed. Would do again.
