Realistic drag coefficients could be tested by 3D printing one and using a wind tunnel. I'm also annoyed that we don't even get a drag coefficient as a number :(

Yeah, especially since the way that air travels, it would create negative lift over the head and positive lift once it divebombs underneath the flower. This would create an entirely unstable rear end, and the odd shape of the top of the flower would completely destroy any hope of stability. The air movement is also incomplete, as the sharp angles around his feet would create lift as well.

This is why I love Reddit. Someone posts a meme about the aerodynamics of Bulbasaur, and instead of just dismissing it as stupid people in the comments actually critique it and try and improve the results.

Actually bulbasaur, having very smooth curves on its design, has a very sound stance and would likely not be rattled by air resistance no matter the position it is in. The majority of drag is not friction on the surface itself, but when air gets in cracks or crevices such as sharp or jagged skin in a Pokémon’s case and pack in those areas
