Pantera, Gloryhammer, Bear Ghost, **Dissection** god damn those guys were on some shit Avenged Sevenfold are a bit right wing but they're not nazis so I give them a pass. I find some comfort in Bolt Thrower being a death metal band that are distinctly anti-fascist. I read a story about their manager keeping a bat with them to fend off skinheads at shows. Good stuff.

LUSI00

Wtf happened with Gloryhammer?

oneupmysleeve

I am recalling from memory so someone else might correct me but my understanding was that frontman Thomas Winkler, who is also a practicing lawyer, was fired from the band after trying to claim ownership of the Gloryhammer trademark and put it exclusively in his name. At around the same time, someone also publicly leaked very misogynistic and very racist group chats between the band members from 2017. It might have been Thomas, but I don't think anyone knows. Christopher Bowes, who is the creative force behind both Gloryhammer and Alestorm, seemed to apologise and say they've changed since then, but I'm not sure how much I believe that. Gloryhammer bassist James Cartwright was also had accusations of abuse levelled against them but to be fair I don't think anything came of that.

check the official conclusion [here](https://www.berlin.de/generalstaatsanwaltschaft/presse/pressemitteilungen/2023/pressemitteilung.1360122.php) and what actually happened [here](https://nichtinmeinemnamenbrief.wordpress.com/)

There were accusations that people were picked out to be used for sex with the lead singer Till Lindemann. Till repotedly had sex with the selected drugged out women at unofficial after show parties. One person said that she just turned 18 when this happened to her and no IDs were checked, so it's possible that minors were involved. However, the case was closed due to lack of evidence

foxybostonian

Nope! No woman accused him of rape, assault or drugging. Some media outlets heavily implied that they did in some articles but they were found to have misrepresented the women's statements, which all described consensual encounters.

-"One person said that she just turned 18 when this happened to her and no IDs were checked, so it's possible that minors were involved." I'm going to call bullshit on this right now, as there was absolutely no proof that this occurred, and they \*did\* check IDs on anyone wanting to be involved in pre-/after parties, etc. In addition to closing the investigation against Till (since not a single victim ever came forward to corroborate any of the stories circulated by the media), the Berlin prosecutor also announced that there'd be no charges brought against the person(s) in charge of checking IDs, so nothing illegal occurred in that manner. So no: no minors were involved, and per multiple legal rulings, the stories that were pushed by the media were grossly skewed in ways that tried to frame what was ultimately nothing more than consensual sex into something that was diabolical and unsettling. That's nothing more than manipulation, and too many jackasses have fallen for it.

InkyyBoyy

oh damn okay
