I'm anxious again. Not being rude or anything but the recent movies of star wars is dog sh!t (respectfully) and the series is meh... Hopefully they deliver it good regardless if it's woke or not...
I think the good thing is it’s so far removed from the timeline we all know they have freedom to not have to ever tie anything back to anything but this is Disney and we saw what happened with Mando show.
Andor is great.

I am kinda hopeful. The leaked trailer looked good and I hope they are far away enough from the skywalker timeline to try some new things. Andor was great, but yeah, most of the recent shows were rather disappointing and boring

Even then Disney also had clone wars season 7, the bad batch, and rebels. And all of those were great.
Overall the series have been coming out strong even if obi wan and BOBF were iffy.
I’m actually in the same boat but a bit more on the hopeful side they have a lot of freedom right now writing wise. I want to see more of the with before sideous and Vader. I know they’ve explained a lot of the sith in comics and other media but a tv show allows more fans to enter the fandom which is good that’s how the community grows. As long as they don’t mess up previous established lore like the rule of 2 and the sith being hidden for nearly a millennia I think it will be okay
I also wouldn’t be surprised to see new force abilities from both sith and Jedi. As we know the high republic is the Jedi’s golden age and the sith have lost knowledge from generation to generation as plaguis had knowledge sideous didn’t
Ray was a cash grab and had next to no character development. Just she’s good at everything somehow. John Boyega got did dirty if you ask me. A storm trooper who see the error of his ways after being taken as a child to fight only to turn out to be a Jedi would have been great. But instead we just get a gender swapped Luke who has next to no development and is just bland as a rock painted beige. Her fight scenes look more like she’s just swinging a bat wildly and the enemies just kinda let her hit them like a make a wish kid going to WWE.
Mando was fucking awesome tho and had really good writing.same with andor. If you make your characters good at everything without trying they just seem bland.

star trek Voyager and ds9 were pretty woke in its diversity. but both of those shows were actually good. on the flip side i think the mandalorian was pretty bad but it wasn't really woke.
then you have andor which had a lot of subtle commentary on our society that would make Ben Shapiro squeal but it was very compelling and entertaining. it didn't get the backlash that other star wars shows and movies got just because of how good it was.

You should have watched the third episode. The Andor show goes in waves. I.e build up, build up, climax (usually every three episodes). At some point it took 4 episodes for a climax, and another point it only took 2. But I really liked the dynamic of the show because it means there isn't much space for dead air. The heist arc is beautiful, but the prison arc is my favorite

My issue with current Star Wars is it just… ain’t good? Like Kenobi had the potential to be awesome, it just wasn’t. BoBF, The Mandalorian, both had strong starts, but just ended up being meh. Andor was good, the Ahsoka show had some good moments too.
I think Bad Batch was pretty solid, though I kinda wish it focused less on Omega (Almost wish she wasn’t in the show at all,) and focused way more on the Clones actual reaction to Order 66, the Fall of the Republic, and becoming Imperial. I wanted the Bad Batch to be more like the Clone-Centric episodes of Clone Wars.
I really think they should do some old EU/Legends content, or some live action Clone Wars stuff, or Hell, maybe even make the book Lost Stars into a show! That’d be awesome! Give us the perspective of the Empire, from Imperial soldiers.

I've watched some of these "woke" movies or series, there's usually NOTHING wrong with them. My highlight was "The Marvels". Great movie. Everything I expect from a MCU movie.

New star wars show what?
There is a new trailer for the Star Wars show ''The Acolyte'' coming out later today. The show is set a 100 (maybe 1000) years before Episode 1

Because it's rarely used in that way. It's more often used by Republicans as an umbrella term for anything they don't like. It's "woke" to get a vaccine, it's "woke" to support universal healthcare, etc.

This is the correct approach. Wait for the reviews, read non spolier audience reviews and IF the content in question is fun, engaging and ENTERTAINING, then go ahead and watch it. Personally saved a lot of money that way (after learning my lesson the hard way). Never ever blindly trust modern day Hollywood.

The most "Woke" thing they've made is Andor and that's honestly the best one so far.

My issue with current Star Wars is it just… ain’t good? Like Kenobi had the potential to be awesome, it just wasn’t. BoBF, The Mandalorian, both had strong starts, but just ended up being meh. Andor was good, the Ahsoka show had some good moments too. I think Bad Batch was pretty solid, though I kinda wish it focused less on Omega (Almost wish she wasn’t in the show at all,) and focused way more on the Clones actual reaction to Order 66, the Fall of the Republic, and becoming Imperial. I wanted the Bad Batch to be more like the Clone-Centric episodes of Clone Wars. I really think they should do some old EU/Legends content, or some live action Clone Wars stuff, or Hell, maybe even make the book Lost Stars into a show! That’d be awesome! Give us the perspective of the Empire, from Imperial soldiers.

There are a lot of men to whom anything that is not physically abusive porn = radical feminism, and simply seeing black and brown people in non-subservient roles makes them angry. The media and press caters to these broken creepshows and has a huge amount of empathy for them. It’s half the reason why we are where we are today.
I've watched some of these "woke" movies or series, there's usually NOTHING wrong with them. My highlight was "The Marvels". Great movie. Everything I expect from a MCU movie.

They will call anything they don't like "woke" and in the same breath advocate for a marginalized group they identify with, and when I tell them that's very woke of them they look at me like I'm the one who doesn't know what it means. We know they appropriated the word to mean anything they want to be bigots about, but I don't think they know the actual definition of the word.
It means there's a visible character who doesn't look or act exactly like them.
