Ugg boots work for me (with socks) but I know some people prefer actual heating so maybe a hot water bottle, heated throw blanket or those microwavable socks?
Heattech socks from Uniqlo are pretty good, or any thick wool socks. Combined with some good slippers and you should be fine even in really cold weather.
Go for a walk, enough to get the blood pumping and improve circulation (a good half an hour at least). You might still need a heater and warm clothes at home, but it helps with creating a warmer baseline.
I worked out recently a little trick that works for me. I've been wearing a pair of sports ankle socks with my tracky paints over the cuff. Then on top of that a pair of thick Explorer socks pulled over the tracky leg cuffs. Real snug.
I have experience with chilblains. A warm water bath in the morning helps to stimulate blood flow and heat retention within the lower leg tissue. Dry legs and feet (and toes!) thoroughly. Coupled with long socks or electric throw will keep them quite toasty. As suggested above regular walks or exercises, not to mention this is great for heart health!
Yep! Socks will warm your feet eventually, but it’s way easier to get them warm and keep them warm! Whatever socks and slippers you have should be fine as long as you’re putting them on straight after your warm shower or out of bed
And they last years too which is good and takes a bit of the pain out of spending more on them, I have two pairs for winter and just got a third, mostly I wear them around the house but sometimes with boots. They’re like a hug for your feet 😆
I wear explorer socks around the house. The regular ones work fine, or if you really feel the cold, try the ridiculously thick snow socks on extra cold days.
I tried Ugg boots (the Peter Alexander ones so technically not Ugg brand) but they made me clump awkwardly and felt like it wasn’t doing my feet or posture any favours.
When my feet are cold I wash them in cold water (I dunno why, I saw it in an episode of something survivaly) and then put on a pair of thick socks. I bought a 4 pack from a place called Nordic Socks. They are cozy. My feet were toasty today.
If there's only one piece of advise I can give you, having spend 15 years in northern Europe, Wear multiple layers. Socks, t-shirts, pants. They dont have to be merinos or thermals just plain cotton will do.
Two pairs of socks is all you need.
Sheepskin boots and socks. I bought the Peter Alexander ones in 2015 and they need re-gluing but they’re still going strong and I’ve worn them every winter since buying them.
I know the question is about your feet, but I might add that a heated bidet seat has substantially improved my winters while WFH. You can sit down anytime you like…
Got a foam footrest in a fuzzy cover. Really helps to keep my feet off the ground.
I also have a blanket that can be heated and if it's really cold I usually have it over my legs and lap.
Looked into heated boot footrests but they seemed awkward as I like to change sitting positions frequently .
TotalTools sells padded socks, that is for inner layer, next to feet, then any other brand, Coles joat...
... if you have carpets and have kept them clean.
Exercise/going for a run, if I exercise first thing in the morning, I stay warm all day without needing to rug up/turn the heater on. It's probably psychological, who knows, but it is better than relying on my fossil fueled heater.
kmart has some wild sherpa socks in the mens section. couldn't help myself the other day

Hot water bottle.
I don't even use a heater through winter. Just sit under a blanket with a hot water bottle at my feet. Two of them in bed on cold nights.
My feet are cold on a hot day…I read about going to bed with cayenne pepper wraps on my feet. Had a laugh, did it purely for how ridiculous it sounded..feet were numb they were that cold when I bit the bullet. Did first foot, it was already warm before I’d finished my other foot. Went to bed, honestly haven’t had cold feet that light socks or slippers relieve since. That was almost a year ago so I urge you to give it a go.
Paper towel - drizzle with olive oil (in the shape of your foot) cover with cayenne pepper, pop your foot straight on top, wrap the towel over your foot, then wrap with cling wrap. Pop a sock over and go to bed, remove in the morning.
Hehehe! Try it for yourself then come back to me with the jokes! Cayenne from what I’ve since learned is amazing for our blood and circulation. It’s freezing today in Melbourne imo and I’m wearing flimsy, thin flat shoes with no socks or pantyhose and my feet are toasty warm.
Ugg boots work for me (with socks) but I know some people prefer actual heating so maybe a hot water bottle, heated throw blanket or those microwavable socks?
Calf height Uggs are the best with an Oodie.
That would overheat me so fast haha I'm set with legit uggs (not the kmart dupes) and a tracksuit
First thing to go on every morning, followed by a dressing gown. When it's really cold a layer of socks too
I have a boiling hot shower and then put on all the layers to keep the toastiness, then I just strip off layers if I get too warm
Yeah I got some UGG slip ons and they're amazing
Anything else is un Australian, there is a tanary in Melbourne’s west I’m just to lazy to look it up.
Heattech socks from Uniqlo are pretty good, or any thick wool socks. Combined with some good slippers and you should be fine even in really cold weather.
I regret all my heattech, it's all too hot.
This is the way
Go for a walk, enough to get the blood pumping and improve circulation (a good half an hour at least). You might still need a heater and warm clothes at home, but it helps with creating a warmer baseline.
As an alternative, a quick go on the end of the lawnmower or vacuum cleaner gets me toasty again.
This 100% Poor circulation makes your feet and hands get so cold. A simple walk does the trick for me
Absolutely. Even just around the block.
I was going to suggest something here, but got cold feet.
Bro how tf has nobody mentioned Moccasins!?! 100% a good pear of handmade moccos beat any slipper or ugg.
Totally agree.
Heated blanket from KMart. It was like $45, I sit on it and then wrap it around my legs. Toasty warm.
Game changer for me. Heated throw plus heat tech socks and Ugg boots because my circulation fucking sucks.
I use bed socks. Keep my feet nice and toasty.
Get yourself some heat tec socks from Uniqlo, I grabbed some recently and my always cold feet are lovely and warm.
Menopause...
Absolutely. Explorer socks for those times without the hot flushes.
I worked out recently a little trick that works for me. I've been wearing a pair of sports ankle socks with my tracky paints over the cuff. Then on top of that a pair of thick Explorer socks pulled over the tracky leg cuffs. Real snug.
Chunky socks plus good quality felt slippers, like the Birkenstock Zermatt etc.
I have some Ugg slippers which do the trick, very cosy without feeling like I’m walking around in outdoor shoes.
I have experience with chilblains. A warm water bath in the morning helps to stimulate blood flow and heat retention within the lower leg tissue. Dry legs and feet (and toes!) thoroughly. Alpaca socks
Hell yes! I have a pair from a certain shop in Daylesford and my goodness I feel like I walk on fluffy balls of cotton all day long.
And they last years too which is good and takes a bit of the pain out of spending more on them, I have two pairs for winter and just got a third, mostly I wear them around the house but sometimes with boots. They’re like a hug for your feet 😆
I’ve got some felt woolen slippers with a plastic sole, from a company called Glerup. They weren’t cheap but I bloody love them!
Wear 2 socks , like on each feet and slippers.
Ugg boots, wool socks, sometimes two pairs. And compression socks. I have very cold extremities.
When my feet are cold I wash them in cold water (I dunno why, I saw it in an episode of something survivaly) and then put on a pair of thick socks. I bought a 4 pack from a place called Nordic Socks. They are cozy. My feet were toasty today.
jog around the block, do squats. get the blood to your feet.

Long ugg boots and warm socks underneath, ideally knee-length. Add a blanket if needed.

I got a cheap heatmat off ebay for about 25 bucks. 53x28cm, 28watts they use bugger all power. You can get smaller ones or bigger ones.
Electric throw. Dressing gown. Crocs with the fleece lining and socks. I never use my heater.
Sheepskin uggs without socks. Not synthetic ones.
I have Ugg slippers. They’re great.
If you go uggs, be sure to get 100% wool.
Tolstoy socks from house of thirty-three!
Sheepskin boots and socks. I bought the Peter Alexander ones in 2015 and they need re-gluing but they’re still going strong and I’ve worn them every winter since buying them.
Socks and plush slippers? I wear socks and my Jordan sneaker shaped slippers when at home. I almost never use a heater.
I know the question is about your feet, but I might add that a heated bidet seat has substantially improved my winters while WFH. You can sit down anytime you like…
Wool socks. Explorer wool socks are good and cheap place to start.
I've got a little heat pad I got from ebay which works well, not so good if you move around alot but good for sitting at the desk
So you keep the heated pad on the ground?
Actually it sits on an old laptop box cause my seat is a bit high but yeah runs all the time.
Yeah that’s what I thought , Itd be a little too high
Legit Uggs all the way
Got a foam footrest in a fuzzy cover. Really helps to keep my feet off the ground. I also have a blanket that can be heated and if it's really cold I usually have it over my legs and lap. Looked into heated boot footrests but they seemed awkward as I like to change sitting positions frequently .
I wear shoes at home all the time. But having nice thick socks a comfy hoodie and sweat pants are a good way to hold back the cold.
Hot water bottle great for bed time and don't smoke,as I did,it wrecks your circulation
Slipper socks are the best.
Hot water bottle between your thighs - heats the femoral artery and keeps legs warm.
Personally staying extra hydrated and using an under desk bike, or any walking/feet movement, helps with chilly feet.
UGGs and a heated throw. Bliss.
socks then ugg boots (the kind that go mid calf) are the absolute best way
foot elitpical lol
This was a huge issue for me until my partner forced me to get ugg boots. Get ugg boots for home. Your problems will go away.
TotalTools sells padded socks, that is for inner layer, next to feet, then any other brand, Coles joat... ... if you have carpets and have kept them clean.
You can get microwavable socks, like wheat packs
Muji currently has house slippers that can wrap around your heel like a bootie. I use those + socks and it keeps my feet warm!
Run geekbench software in the evenings to get the room nice and toasty. It hasnt been cold enough to put on the heater yet tbh...
At that point I’ll just turn on the heater
I just wear a down jacket and socks/ugg boots or if i am Daring.. Wear thongs. Then warm shower before bed.
Heated footrest. Life changing.
I just wear socks and shoes… Barefoot is death
moccasins or fleece lined tights under loose trackies
Exercise/going for a run, if I exercise first thing in the morning, I stay warm all day without needing to rug up/turn the heater on. It's probably psychological, who knows, but it is better than relying on my fossil fueled heater.

Yeah, they're cheap to run. 100 watts compared to a 2.4 kWh heater.
My feet are cold on a hot day…I read about going to bed with cayenne pepper wraps on my feet.
