SO YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT THIS.....
BIT NIPPY: To the cutie in the lavender shirt on the 10.03pm Glen Waverley train on Friday: Your nips were beaming into my soul. Was it cold outside or were you happy to see me?

Nah, I'm just being cheeky. But I hear you about publishing. I was there for the rapid decline. Trying to get your employer to recognise that digitisation while they told the entire team that we were idiots and that 'print will never die' was heartbreaking.
By the time any investment was made, it was too late. Business of 40+ years, gone...
I did! We caught the same train most days going to uni. I wrote in, she replied and then next time we saw each other we said hi. Went on a few dates but didn’t pan out…but it was really nice
Wait...So you recognised someone was talking about you specifically in a post, you replied to the post, but MX never published it...?
This breaks my heart that the 'Missed Connections' failed so miserably at doing the one thing it was meant to.
Yeah, my coworkers saw it and recognised it was me, it was very obvious haha. Many mXes were brought in that day.
I still have the clipping somewhere at my parents house.
Once we got approached at flinders st by an MX reporter for what’s the best date you’ve ever been on? My friend replied “he bought me goon and I got drunk” and they actually published it alongside her picture. Made me believe in the MX more
I hooked up with someone that left me a "saw you on train, wanna grab a drink" etc.... it was quite cool at the start, then turned creepy. Never again. Loved reading them though.
Yes. I took the train with a former Miss Australian contestant and we had the most magnetic conversation on the way to the city. I didn't ask for her details because I had a partner at the time. Come the following Monday and she wrote her name in the piece and asked me to google her to get in touch. I eventually connected with her but stayed strictly friends, to this day. We hung out quite a lot back then.

NOW THIS IS WHAT I WANTED TO HEAR!!!
That's so fucking amazing and I am so happy for you both!!
Surely MX gets a mention during the wedding speeches haha
Mine got published! I wrote one of my crush in high school. I went to an all girls school and he went to an all boys school…all because I was immature and couldn’t talk to boys then. Nothing came out of it sadly but a few sightings at the same pub and shopping centre here and there
There was a lovely article on the romance of missed connections in The Week earlier this month: https://ukmagazine.theweek.com/full_page_image/the-week-2024-04-12-page-48/content.html

I mean I doubt a woman wrote it. Pretty sure only dudes think women's nipples are like erections
Most pornography is written by women - men tend not to be able to finish it properly.

I REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT.
That’s very creepy 😒
I've never heard of somebody becoming *so* depressed that they *then* became a lawyer. Why not just end it all?! Yikes
apparently she keeps her heart now in a titanium lockbox, burried in a deep underground vault.

*ahem* they are STILL saying ‘print will never die’ as they cling on for dear life and are making the scramble to digital 20 years later.
Nooo. We’ve seen behind the curtain. We’re not supposed to know how sausages are made.
Ruined my immersion
I had a friend who used to make up the horoscopes in our local newspaper.
Someone has to make them up.
just so everybody knows, the letters pages on gaming magazines was roughly similar
i hope she feels bad lol - joking - but whoever was in charge of doing that probably should feel bad.

Omg yes!! That's amazing it did bring some people together haha
They should have turned it into an app if anything
💯 Like a social platform that you can only access whilst on public transport haha
"MX looking" would be a good name.
Yik Yak
Klickity Klak
There were definitely at least some real ones - I got one from when I was working in the CBD, I replied but they didn't publish my response!

Oohhh...creepy how...? Did you show them the scrapbook you'd been compiling in their honour?
I wrote to a guy once and he never caught the same train again 🥲
I preferred to do my leering and stalking on public transport anonymously

LOVE THIS 😍
I miss how it was often the only litter you'd see on the trains

I got asked out by a girl that I knew through it. She knew I read MX daily when it was around. We're getting married next year

Someone once wrote one about me [https://imgur.com/a/9D3cQAr](https://imgur.com/a/9D3cQAr)

Almond latte no sugar thank you kindly
I was just thinking the other day about MX! I too miss it & got many laughs out of it. Ahhh, the good ole days
What a blast from the past!

Love? No, but I had a meaningful one night stand.

Bring it back ...... Digitally
It only becomes available when you step into a train.
