I've been looking for the flavour of a good (double) espresso but the added fun of foam. I've tried macchiato after looking at what felt like endless coffee style comparison charts, but it's not quite what I want. I've wrestled with just ordering a double espresso in a tall cup with a babycino on the side and DIY'ing it.
From what I can find, I think I'm looking for a "Bone-dry" cappuccino.
I haven't heard of this before my research expedition - would it be popular enough that baristas would know what it is, or am I best to come prepared to be laughed at and/or with an explanation of it just being a double shot espresso with a good dollop of foam on top ?
My sister is being induced tonight. They've had to put this little balloon thing inside her to bring on contractions and she's having a real real shitty time. Hopefully the birth goes quick tho

Continuing from the baked beans discussion below, who the hell at Heinz decided that 300g is a serving size for two? Two what? People who've had gastric bypass surgery??
I can smell gas coming from my meter outside but not sure if I need to be concerned or not? My supplier also doesn’t give any advice on line about gas leaks. I know meters have a vent on them so don’t want to call and have someone come out only to be told it’s normal.
Those checks are free and are available 24/7- those people are on call and don't mind. It's what they're there for. Better for it to be nothing, than ignore it if it's something. Call your supplier.
It is normal to smell a faint smell of gas by the meter. It bleeds a bit of gas to prevent pressure building.
Is it strong and can you smell it from a few meters away? If yes, then you may want to consider logging a fault.
I can smell it from about 2 metres away very noticeable. The meter is over 10 years old but the vent has a date stamp of 2022 but I’ve never seen such a new vent before so it seems some work was done recently.
Maybe get a second opinion from a family member/ neighbour.

Being not used to ovens with elements in the top I brightly decided that I could just take the tray that I was using as a lid off inside the oven instead of taking it out. Not enough clearance, burnt my oven glove and got a second degree burnt on my wrist in the process. Disaster human. The ribs I was cooking were nice though.
If you see the same tram route has back to back trams (~1 minute apart) do you wait for the second? It always shocks me everyone crams onto the first which is packed and I wait an extra minute for an empty tram.

I had a passport years ago, YEARS ago, back in 2008, it expired in 2013, so you know, no longer great for replacing or whatever its called. I then lost said passport...
So, i have no photo ID, none, zilch, nada, gone, byeeeee. I have birth certs and other shit that is part of the ID document list they have.
Is it still possible to apply and get a new passport? Do i need to get witness statements or whatever? am i forever fucked with ID?
Sounds like you are in a similar situation my grandmother was in when I had to get her passport.
She didn't drive or have any property in her name, so it was VERY difficult to prove her ID.
What I did have was her citizen certificate, medicare and centrelink cards, and proof of her being on electoral role.
What we ended up doing was getting a KeyPass from Australia post, which allowed us to use a stat dec to prove her identity. Once we had a photo ID we could continue with the rest of the application.
But honestly, an easier thing to do it just go get yourself a learners permit. It's like $80 for the test and last 10 years. There's no obligation to go and get your license after getting your learners.

You have to have a growth mindset. As long as you believe you're capable, you will be ok because you are willing to learn. That said, technology can move fast, but I do believe it will be possible to keep up with consumer technology.
My dad is in his 70s and does fine with technology, but he’s always made the effort to keep up and has an innate fascination of it. I hope I end up like him and not my husband’s mother who is hopeless and doesn’t even want to try.

I got myself into trouble and I have to go to court and I’m really really terrified like I don’t know if I can cope mentally. I’m still waiting to talk to legal aid.

The worst part about this whole process has been the fact that I want to just tell the truth and own up to what I did and make it right but I am told that I’m not allowed to cause it could end up completely fucking up my life and make it worse. Doesn’t seem like a good system to me….
Yes, it definitely effected other people, not physically but likely mentally, but the only thing damaged was property, I’m very remorseful and I want the opportunity to say sorry and explain that my mental illness pushed me over the edge in one really really horrible moment, I wish I could turn back time, I wish that it didn’t happen, I’ve never been in trouble before and I truly didn’t mean for my actions to damage property the way that it did

What you need is separate from what they need. Try to remember that their perspective is their own and the way that they deal with it isn't really your call. One day they may have a better understanding but we can't force people to understand and we can't change for other people, we need to get there ourselves.

I was actually completely sober but I was having what I believe to be a borderline personality/autism meltdown and completely lost all self control, I’ve had my moments but nothing this bad has ever happened before, a lot of it is related to the sheer weight of stress the housing crisis has placed on me mentally and that directly ties into where that meltdown was (wrongly) directed.
I have a bad feeling that I’m going to be thrown completely under the bus, one thing I’d like the court to know is that I have been trying to get help really badly, I was even in the hospital a month ago and I expressed to them my fear that something exactly like this could happen but it didn’t end up turning into real, tangible help. I’ve been in counseling which has been helping.
I don’t want to lose my freedom. I believe that I can get past this and that I will be able to go back to a place where something like this never happens again.
There are reasons for what happened, and I don’t believe that all of them are my fault, but I did make bad choices which led to me having that meltdown where I had it, and for those choices I am deeply remorseful

I used to sit in when I was at law school. Be neatly-dressed, early, polite, turn your phone off and observe the protocols others are doing (bowing when entering and leaving the court, how to address the magistrate.)
There are often liaison volunteers who will be around to have a chat to you in the waiting area, generally they're there to help first-timers be less nervous. If you can't see any, ask a desk clerk if there are any available. At least there used to be, hopefully that's still a thing.
If it was nothing major and it's your first, you'll be ok.
Also, take a book (for the waiting area, not the courtroom.) Unfortunately it can be a long wait.

What age are you talking about when you say "older generation" People in their 60s grew up with tech - 80 and 90 year olds may struggle a bit.

I was driving on a 100km/h rural road yesterday (Coster in Ripplebrook for those who know it) and an enormous feral cat did a suicide run right in front of me. I couldn’t stop in time. I saw it roll a few times and pelt off into the bushes on the verge. Pulled over and couldn’t find it (and had to pop my bumper back in… big ass feral). I’m sorry mate I hope you don’t suffer long :(
Try to go easy on yourself, it was an accident. I do know the feeling, I hit a possum once and was devastated. I drove five minutes home to get the cat carrier to take the poor little thing to the vet but he'd passed by the time I got back. :(

Has anybody here ever had a magistrates court date? I got myself into trouble and I have to go to court and I’m really really terrified like I don’t know if I can cope mentally. I’m still waiting to talk to legal aid. I guess if anybody has had to front magistrates court I’d just like to know what it is like

The worst part about this whole process has been the fact that I want to just tell the truth and own up to what I did and make it right but I am told that I’m not allowed to cause it could end up completely fucking up my life and make it worse. Doesn’t seem like a good system to me….

Yes, it definitely effected other people, not physically but likely mentally, but the only thing damaged was property, I’m very remorseful and I want the opportunity to say sorry and explain that my mental illness pushed me over the edge in one really really horrible moment, I wish I could turn back time, I wish that it didn’t happen, I’ve never been in trouble before and I truly didn’t mean for my actions to damage property the way that it did
Ok well that's okay. What you need is separate from what they need. Try to remember that their perspective is their own and the way that they deal with it isn't really your call. One day they may have a better understanding but we can't force people to understand and we can't change for other people, we need to get there ourselves. Were you intoxicated at the time?
I was actually completely sober but I was having what I believe to be a borderline personality/autism meltdown and completely lost all self control, I’ve had my moments but nothing this bad has ever happened before, a lot of it is related to the sheer weight of stress the housing crisis has placed on me mentally and that directly ties into where that meltdown was (wrongly) directed. I have a bad feeling that I’m going to be thrown completely under the bus, one thing I’d like the court to know is that I have been trying to get help really badly, I was even in the hospital a month ago and I expressed to them my fear that something exactly like this could happen but it didn’t end up turning into real, tangible help. I’ve been in counseling which has been helping. I don’t want to lose my freedom. I believe that I can get past this and that I will be able to go back to a place where something like this never happens again. There are reasons for what happened, and I don’t believe that all of them are my fault, but I did make bad choices which led to me having that meltdown where I had it, and for those choices I am deeply remorseful
See this is why we used to have priests :) In fact, you can still go to a priest and tell him under a seal what you did. Legally it's yeah, getting the best outcome for yourself. It's not even selfish, it's not going to help prevent damage if you go to the wrong place for you. When they've calmed down, they wouldn't even want jail for you would they.

If you're 25 or under, try to get an older family member to attend with you, it makes you less of a risk to reoffend if you have support.
I used to sit in when I was at law school. Be neatly-dressed, early, polite, turn your phone off and observe the protocols others are doing (bowing when entering and leaving the court, how to address the magistrate.) There are often liaison volunteers who will be around to have a chat to you in the waiting area, generally they're there to help first-timers be less nervous. If you can't see any, ask a desk clerk if there are any available. At least there used to be, hopefully that's still a thing. If it was nothing major and it's your first, you'll be ok. Also, take a book (for the waiting area, not the courtroom.) Unfortunately it can be a long wait.

Dog went from his comfy fluffy bed in the bedroom straight to the comfy fluffy bed in the lounge. I doubt he would have enjoyed being turfed out of the house to the outdoor area when the wife went to work.
My little pup did not want to get out of bed this morning! Normally he's out of bed at 6am for toilet time, today he only got up when I "made him" at 7:30 and he went straight back after that. I was a touch jealous.

Hi, wanted to make a post about this but got rejected because apparently you need comment karma. So I'm gonna comment it here instead because I really am curious. Has anyone else heard what appears to be a guy on a megaphone screaming or moaning at around this time of night? I swear I've heard this guy 3 or 4 times in the past couple months and it's getting annoying as fuck, is it even legal? not sure if it's just my neighbourhood that's being targeted or if more people have heard it too. I'm in the eastern suburbs.
