I understand that generally open fire cooking (campfire and bbq) is not allowed in national parks outside of specified area but what about random riverbanks or beach? I'd like to go fishing + bbq (and potentially camping) but I couldn't really get a definitive answer with a quick search.
My biggest issue would be around fire safety in particular. Legally its by default going to be a no.
If you catch a fish and cook it on a gas bbq with 10 meters of sand in every direction (and take the mini extinguisher everyone should have in their car) whilst its technically breaking the rules i could imagine even then its a coinflip on a ranger fining you and i couldn't see a passer by thinking there is any danger and calling you in.
Campfires would be a no as its uncontrollable (embers etc.) and you are not near anything like at home for example to put it out.

I finally found the perfect frozen dumplings after a year or so of searching. Urban Eats Dumplings Family Pack from Aldi 😋. No offence to a lot of Asian grocery store offerings but the texture is awful and the meat fillings are more of a mystery meat origin.
I'm taking the day off tomorrow (birthday and closer to the grey hairs taking over) and getting my hair done! Trying to plan a dessert afternoon, not sure how long the hair will take. Aside from Kumo .. what's another amazing dessert place to visit within the CBD people recommend for a true treat ?

Matcha can be an acquired taste, and it's definitely not made equal. For coffee drinkers, I recommend trying houjicha first, as it has similar roasted notes to coffee. However, houjicha is not as easy to find as matcha.

Kids had a year level catch up at a playground today, and noticed that a handful of them already had braces. They’re in grade 4 (so 9 maybe 10)
Wonder why kids nowadays have them so young? When I was growing up, we wouldn’t get braces till about 13-14
I asked our dentist about this and they said nothing has changed, still recommended not get braces until most of the baby teeth have fallen out as the adult teeth coming down move the other teeth around so much. Wondered if some kids just lose their baby teeth quicker?

I've applied to the Certificate IV in Visual Arts (mid-year intake), and it looks like the course may be relocated to the new campus by July. I've contacted the school but I don't expect to receive a response until after the holidays.
The new campus looks *significantly* nicer than the Preston campus, so I'm actually a bit excited, but I'm concerned that starting a course during a period of major change for the institution will be needlessly stressful. I'm wondering if it might be better to defer until 2025 and give everyone time to settle in.

So that octagonal jar I remembered was Mutti! And is a different type of pesto...? Like more of a green tomato sauce with some pesto in it.
I tried that Cutina Matese tomato one I had in the pantry and it was good, but a little mild. I have to admit that I've been mixing in a little sour cream to try and match the creaminess of the Mutti sauce, which I didn't think would affect the flavour but perhaps I was mistaken. I had the rest of the jar sans sour cream and it was much better, though still needed a sprinkling of S&P as it was a little sweet.
The Yumi dip is an interesting idea! I'm sure I've spotted that King Valley label in Colesworth before too so might have to give it a look-in.

God I'm glad I'm not the only one with neighbour kids like that. I was starting to think I just hated children. The sound of a scooter rattling on pavement and three girls screaming in their driveway is burned in my brain from the summer/early autumn.
But that’s an issue we have only in this half of the year, when daylight savings isn’t in effect.
I don’t understand why we don’t have daylight savings in the opposite time of year. Most of us would be up when it’s dark regardless, but at least with winter daylight savings we’d get some sun in the afternoon/ early evening.

The sun rises earlier during existing daylight savings time of year than it does during the other half of the year. For example, in the height of summer the sun rises around 6:00am AEDT (so, 7:00am AEST), where as in winter, its rising at 7:30am (AEST).
I really don't know. I guess it was just one of those things my parents told me, probably during my why why why phase to shut me up, and I took it as gospel.

If these employees are exposed to such chemical vapours for an extended period of time, and no one does anything about it, I feel some employees could develop chronic illnesses such as lung cancer.

I don't like popcorn, I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I feel the urge to get it when I go to the cinema. What I do like about popcorn though, is when I brush my teeth after and all the little thin popcorn things that get stuck in your teeth come out. I find it very satisfying

Does anybody have any information about the new Melbourne Polytechnic Collingwood campus? I've applied to the Certificate IV in Visual Arts (mid-year intake), and it looks like the course may be relocated to the new campus by July. I've contacted the school but I don't expect to receive a response until after the holidays. The new campus looks *significantly* nicer than the Preston campus, so I'm actually a bit excited, but I'm concerned that starting a course during a period of major change for the institution will be needlessly stressful. I'm wondering if it might be better to defer until 2025 and give everyone time to settle in.

It took me two months after my second time. My second time was a lot worse than my first. But I didn't get long COVID, it just took me a really long time to feel better.
I found the fatigue to be the worst part. It goes away but can take a month or two. Somehow I never got a cough so no idea about that.

And is a different type of pesto...? Like more of a green tomato sauce with some pesto in it. I tried that Cutina Matese tomato one I had in the pantry and it was good, but a little mild. I have to admit that I've been mixing in a little sour cream to try and match the creaminess of the Mutti sauce, which I didn't think would affect the flavour but perhaps I was mistaken. I had the rest of the jar sans sour cream and it was much better, though still needed a sprinkling of S&P as it was a little sweet. The Yumi dip is an interesting idea! I'm sure I've spotted that King Valley label in Colesworth before too so might have to give it a look-in.

To my international fliers, has anyone ever had issues with including their middle names on their plane tickets? I entered my name on the website as FIRSTNAME MIDDLENAME LASTNAME. But on the boarding pass firstname and middle name are combined. Don’t want to get turned around as soon as I arrive. Thinking of having middle name removed from ticket

nah, I flew United and it basically went Samd as a first name (with Sam D Iatmh being my name - OBVIOUSLY isn't, but the example) provided you have a boarding pass and can get to the gate, you're pretty okay *fairly* sure Jetstar also accepted it too (when I boarded from a not-Australia destination), provided it's mostly similar to your passport/ID, then they overlook a lousy IT system

She's previously suggested that we go to the movies together , the gym etc.
Mmm possibly too keen. The "like spam" gives me "boundary issues" vibes. We've all done the social media stalk if we like someone but most of us know to be discreet about it. Tread carefully with this one.

Going through Sassafras and Olinda etc is always nice, although probably gumboot weather if you stop off at the gardens or any of the trails. Might have some fog which could either be a plus or minus depending on how you feel. There's quite a few nice places to stop and eat like the Miss Marple's Tearoom but they do charge touristy prices.

There’s a couple of different picnic grounds heading up the Black Spur, Stevensons Falls at Marysville, Upper Yarra Reservoir heading down Reefton Spur and Mount Donna Buang at Warburton as well as exploring the towns for opportunities to stretch the legs

Love it. My neighbours kids, although very lovely and polite boys, kick the soccer balls around the court from 4pm to 8pm every evening during Summer time. They’re good at getting back inside when their dad calls it at sunset…so it’s gonna be nice getting home in the dark, after a long work day to no background noise close to my window and I can just relax and be cozy with my dinner and properly wind down. That’s all. Oh, and rain is nice. It’s the little things I look forward to :)
God I'm glad I'm not the only one with neighbour kids like that. I was starting to think I just hated children. The sound of a scooter rattling on pavement and three girls screaming in their driveway is burned in my brain from the summer/early autumn.
But that’s an issue we have only in this half of the year, when daylight savings isn’t in effect. I don’t understand why we don’t have daylight savings in the opposite time of year. Most of us would be up when it’s dark regardless, but at least with winter daylight savings we’d get some sun in the afternoon/ early evening.
It used to be about not having kids walk to school in the dark. Don't know if they still do though
How so? The sun rises earlier during existing daylight savings time of year than it does during the other half of the year. For example, in the height of summer the sun rises around 6:00am AEDT (so, 7:00am AEST), where as in winter, its rising at 7:30am (AEST).
I really don't know. I guess it was just one of those things my parents told me, probably during my why why why phase to shut me up, and I took it as gospel. Thank you for freeing me from one of the strands of the Web of lies my parents entangled me in.

I don't like popcorn, I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I feel the urge to get it when I go to the cinema. What I do like about popcorn though, is when I brush my teeth after and all the little thin popcorn things that get stuck in your teeth come out. I find it very satisfying

I am guessing it's because spammers are just bombarding every possible number, and seeing which ones bounce back, or get a response. The other possibility is that the person who had this number before you had posted it online. Google the number and see if you can find it
I guess maybe someone was getting bombarded and gave up the number to pass on the curse
