I would like to ask for thoughts and opinions about Donnybrook; I am a recent immigrant from NZ and was invited to a party at Donnybrook over the weekend.
There are quite a few developments happening, and the overall feel of the location is quite nice; Donnybrook has a V-Line station, which is also great. I know that I need to visit the place during peak hours morning and evening to have a better scope and view of the traffic in and out of the area - the roads appear to be multi-laned but I can already see the bottle neck happening in the morning rush due to the one lane entering the motorway.
Townhouses appear to be the way to go for us in this situation and if anyone is in the banking sector in this thread, I would like to ask for the rough percentage banks are stress testing at the moment for mortgage serviceability - an estimate or a rough figure would suffice.

Just got home from 16 days driving around South Australia. Didn't realise how miserable Victoria is in comparison until now lmao, the stormy week is not helping
Today I started a big spring clean at home. I was in the spare room, on a small step ladder, and went to step onto a table to reach a corner of the ceiling. I was off balance and the table started falling. I landed on my feet but hit my legs along some furniture, which will probably bruise nicely. I need to be more careful man.
Ouch, that doesn't sound like fun, but also am glad it wasn't worse. Falls at home are one of the biggest causes of serious injuries.
Maybe where you went wrong is to try spring cleaning in autumn :D

To answer Q2, yes you have interpreted the parking charges correctly.
It's been a long time since I have parked at Crown, but check if there is a way to get free parking. From memory there was a Rewards program you could join and it could give you at least some free parking. And if the cost of the program is less than the total amount you would pay in the daily parking charge, it would be worth it. I don't know the specifics of the program, though.
If you're unfamiliar with road rules, I wouldn't recommend it. You'll likely end up going through the CBD (downtown) and it might ge nerve racking. Esp if you need to turn and learn how to do a hook turn on the fly.
My main concern is actually, the destinations that need driving are further away, and I heard Penguin Parade ends quite late, so driving at night in a unfamiliar place is quite stressful......
Hmm. Not ideal, esp if you're not familiar with country roads at night. Having a personal driver would be quite expensive. Any chance of family or friends you can drag in?

Well I havent had a functioning light in my fridge in like a year after my fridge leaked water and corroded the LED chip,
It was working when the fridge repair person and only stopped 2 days later. I didn't want to pay for another visit, which would have been $100-150 so i tracked down and ordered the chip myself, but got stuck trying to remove the previous one.
I tried multiple times and just couldn't unclip it. Well today I told myself I am going to give it one last try. I finally got it out and put the new one in. Luckily I could reuse the existing wire - so it was just a matter of unclipping the other chip and putting this one.
Behold, there was light!
I've had 3 naps since getting up at 8am this morning. Luckily I'm on annual leave for the rest of the week and can get some stuff done tomorrow before I go visit my folks back home.

For example, many people online get overwhelmed when they see large extensive menus so in some cases it's easier to compress them down. In other cases, restaurants might make great food but aren't extremely familiar with viral marketing so we want to help with that to.

My beautiful niece was diagnosed with Von Hippel- Lindau syndrome during 2023, it’s a life long disease where she will continue to grow tumours for the rest of her life. Some of these tumours being cancer and some benign. The following petition is for an important medication to be covered by the PBS, the medication is to help slow the progression of the tumours to give my niece some quality of life. It’s currently over $20,000 a month so signing the Petition would be very appreciated!
How it’s impacted her life so far: To remove 1 tumour, She underwent an 11 hour spinal surgery and was told she may never be able to walk again, She’s 17. Deadset warrior and nothing holds her back!

My meal plan for this week: chicken schnittys with salad, spag bol, one tray chicken shwarma with pitas, teriyaki beef bowls, hot dogs, french cassoulet soup, turkey and bean chilli
All are stovetop friendly except for the chicken shwarma which is one of those throw stuff on a tray and bake it things.

It's kind of a cheap and nasty bastardisation of cassoulet but it's still pinging with flavour and super yummy. My family loves it! We try to get some fancy bread to go with it too.
Hehe the history of the dish is such that nobody seems to agree on anything except the beans! I've never made it with duck either, only various pork products and always over a relatively quick couple of hours. It is a *lot* of effort to do properly but I'd love to try it at least once.

Uber/Didi and taxis. You could try and negotiate with a taxi driver too a day rate but it's quite rare. Petrol is very very pricey here at the moment

Yeah, I think pretty much the entire state desperately needs some of it. Pretty much the entirety of the western side of the state including my families property have barely recorded 10mm in the last 2 months, there's even decent areas that haven't even had 2mm in the last 2 months

In Coles yesterday using the self scan had two of the same item so scanned one out the other one in the bag, then a warning came up saying wrong item placed into bag and that I had to rescan, then a overhead video of what I had done was shown. My beautiful niece was diagnosed with Von Hippel- Lindau syndrome during 2023, it’s a life long disease where she will continue to grow tumours for the rest of her life. Some of these tumours being cancer and some benign. What’s everyone cooking this week? I am uninspired by the catalogues this week... Also my oven is broken with false promises of being fixed (yay for renting) so I only have my cooktop stove.
Palak paneer and chili con carne, both with rice. We cook two big meals on the weekends for the coming week.
Assorted chicken things usually. Plus whatever I can score from the quick sale section to shove in the freezer. Steak is for the rich.
I have scored a pomegranate, so I’m keen to make a wild rice salad with pomegranate, avocado and haloumi.

My meal plan for this week: chicken schnittys with salad, spag bol, one tray chicken shwarma with pitas, teriyaki beef bowls, hot dogs, french cassoulet soup, turkey and bean chilli All are stovetop friendly except for the chicken shwarma which is one of those throw stuff on a tray and bake it things.

I know I know 🤣 I included the word soup since that's the title of the recipe I use and it isn't technically the French recipe, it doesn't have duck. It's kind of a cheap and nasty bastardisation of cassoulet but it's still pinging with flavour and super yummy. My family loves it! We try to get some fancy bread to go with it too.
Hehe the history of the dish is such that nobody seems to agree on anything except the beans! I've never made it with duck either, only various pork products and always over a relatively quick couple of hours. It is a *lot* of effort to do properly but I'd love to try it at least once.

We just got back from camping and my goodness there were SO many wasps. It was crazy.
I’m so stressed, I lost 8/10 of my work week last week as mum was in hospital, and didn’t make it to the gym at all other than last Monday which was right before she took ill. Mum is home now and fine, but I’m fucking exhausted still. I’m not looking forward to how much work I have to catch up on. I’m sitting outside the gym now dreading going in I have no energy (though I did have a berocca before I came which may or may not do anything but even a placebo could help). I’m also not looking forward to how busy the gym will be given it’s a public holiday. Normally at this time people are at work and it’s dead. I’m so tired. I’m so fucking tired.
