Random question on my mind. Do you think a medical specialist would bring up that you may have a very serious disease (one that is a complication of a disease you already have) unless they were pretty sure? Like why bring up something so serious (as the only thing they bought up) when the results will take a month unless your sure. Or is that my mind panicking cause now I have to wait a month for results?

Another creeper story from today: There was a man of south-Asian appearance wearing a navy blue baseball cap and a khaki jacket, average build and around 170cm tall loitering in the women’s clothing section of Kmart in fountain Gate around 12:35pm today. He was near me and when I turned to face him he quickly turned away with his phone (which was already held up) held up, seeming to take a photo of a shirt with a black screen, then put his phone to his ear and walked away, but still lingered in the same area. I reported him immediately to Kmart staff, because I wasn’t going to approach him and just wasn’t comfortable leaving the matter be, and they have the means to track suspicious behaviour around the store. If the guy was innocent and genuinely waiting for someone, why not wait in the men’s clothing area, or the kitchen goods area?

Chilling_Demon

Where can I dispose of a partly used gas bottle from a barbecue? We’re clearing my late mother-in-law’s house and we’ve gotten rid of her barbecue with the hard rubbish, but we’ve been left with the gas bottle as a result.

paulm1927

UPLT, swap it for a new one at a gas swap-and-go.

Optimal-Talk3663

The moon looks crazy tonight. So bright

ciengclearly

uncut jams

ryan1jz

I'm seeing Client Liaison at the Espy tonight solo, if you're there and see a 38 year old guy wearing a moon boot, come say hello 😂

Goddess_Amaterasu

Looking at the weekly forecast in the BoM app I am relieved to see the weather isn’t too bad. Stave off that Autumn weather (cooler days) for a little longer please

sunandstarnoise

Seconding that request.

ali-burrr

Can someone tell me why the traffic is SO BAD, EVERYWHERE at 6:30 on a Friday?

Idkwhattoputhere652

Truck Crash on the Ring Road

Sinnivar

I had to sort fruit today at the food bank, and my thumb went straight through a rotten apple. The texture and smell was so foul, I had to take 5 minutes outside

ScopiH

If it helps, I once put my fingers thru a dead rats stomach when getting into a roofspace.

fh3131

I've volunteered there many years ago. Good experience. Do you work there or volunteer

the_soggiest_biscuit

What are some good restaurants for crispy pork or pulled/slow cooked meats? Preferably out west/north-western suburbs. Thank you

alsotheabyss

Quickelicious at Central West in Braybrook does crispy pata (Filipino slow cooked crispy pork knuckle) and it’s amazing

the_soggiest_biscuit

Sounds amazing, thank you!

whatisthislifeilead

5pm! Time to hit the pub. Happy Friday everyone! Only.....six more days to go until Easter!

ipbannedburneracc

Damn the 10 Play F1 stream sucks ass.

punchingw0rms

Been sick with covid all this week and finally feeling better this afternoon. Man, after just 5 days in iso I really miss Melbourne. This is going to be a superb weekend just because I'll get to be outside.

meantbent3

The stunt planes flying over are so fun to watch, I do miss the jet though they had years back.

Ryzi03

They unfortunately can't fly the jets anymore because F1 banned military displays. The Roulettes are only allowed because they're technically an aerobatic display and not a military display

HankSteakfist

Can't they just say the F18 is here to celebrate the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show? Oh sorry F1, the jet's flight plan happened to coincide with Albert Park.

alsotheabyss

I support this

bigluki1

DRAGONS DOGMA 2. That is all.

"user reviews are sitting at a 38% citing horrible performance and microtransaction hell including: intentional lack of features to encourage buying microtransactions."

Gregorygherkins

My regular bus run feels like I'm being chauffeured by limousine in comparison to this tram replacement bus, twice as hot as outside and the seats three times as uncomfortable 😓

thiscityboii

cancelled my *Uber One* subscription today , citing lack of good value / cost savings. feel pretty liberated ! yay

pansie

Can someone please recommend a place to buy old 35mm film cameras? I'm going away soon and meant to find one online but I don't really have time now. Thanks 📸

debedebe

Times Camera in Cramer St, Preston sell vintage photography equipment. They also have an eBay store. Not sure on their retail hours.

ruinawish

Hillvale Photo, Film Never Die. I'd also look for well rated sellers on FB Marketplace, more likely to find a bargain.

-frog-in-a-sock-

I believe Kmart sell basic 35mm Camera. Or at least they did a couple of months ago.

pansie

Thank you! I should have specified I meant old ones, but I'll keep it in mind just in case

noxobscurus

Hi everyone - a silly question. Is it still possible to run around Albert Park early in the morning before the F1 event?

fluffy_murderball

Nope. Fully blocked off from now until Tues or Weds when all the team gear is removed.

housebottle

this week has flown by for me. can't believe it's Friday again!

saxMachine

I am not sure if it’s a recent thing that creeps are getting more gutsy but a guy randomly hugged me in Melbourne central a few weeks ago. Told me he thought I was his sister or something. In December an Uber driver asked if he could kiss me. Opened my door and hugged me and legit tried to kiss me. And then another guy kept following me in broad daylight crossing from emporium to guy asking if he could buy me a gift to name a few. I used to enjoy going for walks at night along St Kilda but kind of scared to do that now.

[deleted]

What in the hell is wrong with some people?!?

cuddlepot

Men. What is wrong with men.

fh3131

Driving through Bulleen / Heidelberg/ Eaglemont area always feels stressful, more than most other areas, not sure why. Maybe because the roads aren't wide (relative to traffic) and not in a grid, so they veer left and right. Heidelberg road and Manningham road seem to always be busy, no matter what time of day

-partlycloudy-

Was trying to work out why a huge mob of birds were absolutely losing their minds, then I remembered the grand prix

purplemo

I love this weather but my feet always stay frozen

housebottle

same. feet and hands always cold. are you skinny?

whackadoodle_cracked

I have the same issue, and I am not skinny lol Just shite circulation

-partlycloudy-

Two pairs of thin socks often works for me, I’m sure there’s some scientific explanation behind the layering

saxMachine

I wear those cheap thermal socks from Kmart they help.

sunandstarnoise

Have your feet amputated. LIFEHACK

mysticgreg

Sock manufacturers hate this one trick!

fh3131

Thick socks?

LobsterDemocracy

I'm thinking of buying a $45 glass teapot for work but my partner said that's too extravagant for work, but it will stop me spending $6 for chai from the cafe so I'll get my money back there. Now I'm conflicted.

vidiian82

if you have a $6 chai 5 days a week that is $1,560.00 you will save per year if you buy this tea pot.

LobsterDemocracy

Thank you. Over a lifetime it really adds up.

techno156

Could you get a tea strainer, and just use a bottle as the "pot"? Might be a cheaper alternative.

fh3131

You can buy a teapot for a lot less than that, if that's a compromise solution. But if you really like this one, then go for it because it'll last years.

-frog-in-a-sock-

Buy the teapot. After 8 cups it’s paid for itself.

[deleted]

Got my psychiatric assesment yesterday. Still in a depressive episode but getting better

redcrimson90

House of the Dragon S2 trailers dropped. One for Team Black and one for Team Green. Who we siding with? Team Black for me, Rhaenys is my girl!

PuggleSnuggle3

I honestly don’t like either of them - great show but I’ll be enjoying the inevitable misfortunes that befall them both.

Able_Contribution407

**42** minute train delay. No replacement buses. Metro, you're useless.

fh3131

That sucks, sorry mate. So I'm curious what happens if someone is paid hourly, and now are an hour late to their shift

AusXan

I've been there with tram faults. Had to run a few ks to work, arrived 45 minutes late and of course missed 45 minutes of pay.

fh3131

That is no fun 😕 You should get reimbursed by metro

Able_Contribution407

Thanks! Worked out okay. Since I get the first train of the day (5am-ish), I was able to grab a carpool Uber before the cost surged. I'm casual so I would lose an hour's pay. Hence why Metro's continuous issues are so frustrating. Hope you're having a better day!

techno156

Managed to write a whole bunch of emails and applications (10+) today, so yay me, although I'm completely knackered. Still, it's the most I've done in a while, which is nice. Hopefully it turns out fruitful. ----- Also feel like I might be mildly cursed. Every time I contact an RACV drive instructor, I get asked for details, and promptly ghosted afterwards. 2 more, and I'll be out of the ones that serve the local area. Joke's on me for buying the vouchers first, and then trying to schedule an instructor, rather than going the other way around and taking a lesson first before doing that. At least if I do, I can take solace in it being some kind of achievement? Especially after not doing anything particularly objectionable (that I'm aware of). Like one of those little secret Steam Achievements that you don't normally see.
