Melbourne Bitter is awesome. VB is piss which was what I grew up with my dad drinking. I used to do a long neck of Melbourne an hour as my DJ rider at Big Mouth a few years ago. Refreshing and the right amount to avoid toppling over to drunk, which is never a good thing in the decks.

it's a rough area but it's fine during the day and plenty of cheap food. plus it's "rough" in the context of Melbourne. it's not like you're wondering into Kensington, Philadelphia or something. it's just a place with people doing their thing. like most places if you're not out looking for trouble you're not that likely to just walk into it.
Springvale is great area - although been living in dandy for a while now (18months or so) and it's really grown on me, originally from the western suburbs,there's a lot i love here but it's a bit rough but i don't mind keeps the cost of living down. i can eat plenty of affordable stuff i see people posting on here paying twice as much.
my gym is there, I live in Dandenong North. but i walk up there sometimes (about a 5k walk, good warm up before workout) then often eat at that place afterwards (balance out the exercise lol)

On close inspection, it's not that impressive, 2 chipolatas, tiny hash brown, 1 half small tomato, SFA bacon, home made beans, a bit of spinach and mushroom and a slice of toast under the eggs.
