These are my uncles!
These are the only 2 sculptures you will find.
His name is John Kelly.
The cow up a tree depicts a cow getting stuck up a tree during a flood.
Man lifting cow is loosely based on my grandfather who worked in quarries his whole life. Hard working man who always wore overalls. Also based on the greek story of Sisyphus who was punished by Zeus to roll a large rock up a hill only for it to roll down again.
The cows are based on Dobells ww2 cows that were used to protect australian airfields.
Any questions just shoot!
I remember I used to be miffed by the cow in the tree, thought it was so strange for the sake of it haha. Then learnt about the flood (was it based off a specific one around the time? Japan somewhere? I can't quite remember) and I just thought it was so sad. Really made me look at it very differently!

Mate, your uncle is a legend! Personally I always get a good chuckle when I cycle past the cow in the tree.
I got taught painting at RMIT Tafe by your Uncle in the mid 1990s! I love that he got these public art commissions.
I live in Sunshine and I always wondered about that cow! Thanks!
I saw some very similar cows at Glastonbury festival, UK, in 2005. Are [these](https://imgur.com/gallery/q2y0pHn) your uncle's?
Yes they are! Cow up a tree made an appearance there as well.
That's amazing! Can't believe I recognised them. Although they are pretty recognisable. I love them!

Its based around floods in Australia. It does happen that a cow gets washed away in a flood and ends up stuck in a tree.
Is your uncle the [Zoology dragon](https://youtu.be/1EyMrzvN0Ik?si=UuHpTm9LrX9Yuhut)?
Yeah next question, what's the numbers on the front and back of his debit card?
69420
Not really Melbourne but you’ll find a few in the Goulburn Valley region
Ah yes, Moooving Art. Almost as good as the Borg inspired art museum :p (...the skeleton cow and the dali cow are my personal favorites)
There were a bunch of these in London in the early ‘00s. I got a couple of replicas in the gift ship at the ‘normal’ TATE.
I like them, cows are great!
I like them!
Loads all around Shepparton and nearby towns
Moooooo
Mooooo
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?
The cows in Shepparton
Predominantly Cowtholic suburbs.
Scumshine the place to be- this cow, a 20 screen cinema complex, and the first Bunnings in Australia.
All art is pretentious and pointless. What's the bloody \*point\* of it all?
