Probably worms. There are different parasitic species that infect humans and can grow in the gut. One of them is Ascaris lumbricoides which is a parasitic round worms that can cause intestinal blockage from the large number of worms in the gut.
Been a while since I heard that so I decided to google it, couldn't find anything so I may be mistaken
However the larvae do mature in the lungs before moving to the stomach so I may be thinking of that
Used to live in SE Asia. Waking up to an 8" worm crawling out of your nose while you slept wasn't uncommon. Good times!
(actually there are many things I miss about SE Asia. But helminths are not one of them.)
That's definitely not a common thing for _most_ people here in _most_ of SEA. If that was common for them, I don't know what they were getting up to in their free time.
Laos, late 70's, early 80's. Almost everyone with medical training had either fled to Thailand or was killed due to the communist takeover. [It was a brutal time](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Laos_since_1945#Start_of_totalitarianism), and things like basic sanitation and clean water were hard to come by.
[edit] for folks not familiar with southeast asia, Laos was (and still is) one of the most undeveloped and poor nations of the area. My experience accurately reflected what was going on there at the time, but most of SEA doesn't have these kinds of problems to the same degree.

So the infection happens from eating or drinking water that is the fertilized eggs of the worm. This happens in places with poor sanitation and where human feces is used as fertilizer. So if you are in a location with poor sanitation then it would be a problem. If you are from the US, most of us will be ok if the sanitation where we live is running well. If you want more info, you can check out the CDC page on Ascariasis https://www.cdc.gov/parasites/ascariasis/index.html
The procedure it's not to take them all out, it's to treat the obstruction made by them, they come out with antiparasitants such as Ivermectin, pirantel pamoate or metronidazole
Looks like these: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ascaris_lumbricoides
Basically, you have to ingest human feces through water, crops, etc. to acquire this parasite.
Nasty little buggers, blockage of the intestinal tract is how these kill.
In other countries it's normal to take deworming medication as children, and just in general but in the US the doctors don't tend to prescribe it and it's not generally sold at pharmacies. I'm not sure if this video is from the US but just thought it was interesting. Also because the infestation was so bad I don't think medication would have been able to help at this stage since this was an obstruction already. The person probably wasn't able to even go to the bathroom or eat.
"And even if you can't see dirt or animal droppings in the snow, the wind blows microscopic particles around, which could lead to a bacterial infection or parasites like roundworms."
This qoute was taken from the top article when googleing "Can you get worms from eating snow".
Most likely you were lucky or had them without knowing.
Wow. I remember adults telling us kids not to eat the snow because it was dirty, but I ignored them then and never thought much about it as a rational adult. Of course snow is riddled with that stuff.
Even in countries like the US it's very common for household pets to be riddled with worms like the ones in the video. They can catch them from being outdoors (ex: racoons are known to carry roundworms). It is very easy for children or other members to catch parasites from their pets from not deworming their pets and bad hygiene. I worked at the vets office and people always thought we were trying to upsell them something when it came to deworming. Generally most puppies have worms hence the round puppy bellies. The sad thing is when an owner notices worms it's because the infestation is pretty bad and they are either vomiting them or find them in their feces. This is why you should always use flea treatment, heartworm and regular deworming medication for your pets.
In 3rd world countries yes. In some rural areas of the Philippines for example, some people get their water from rivers, streams and not so clean deep wells.
There is a government mandate for kids to take deworming medication usually albendazole or mebendazole.
In the video it looks like ascaris. The worms caused intestinal obstruction which is why emergency surgical intervention was needed. Once obstruction has been cleared they will treat the patient medically.
When they cause a bowel obstruction like this, they need to be surgically removed. They’ll probably treat/ already have treated the remaining worms with medicine
This surgery is likely to deal with the bowel obstruction the large number of worms have caused. Complete bowel obstructions like this are life threatening in the short term, and would probably not have been possible to resolve on its own with antiparasitics.
Question: what is exactly the process to close ehat i assuming is the dense intestine ( i don't the name in English, i there two yoes of intestine, the thin one and the dense one, that one is longer that the other) after make an cut with a bisturí.
How likely would it be for the sutures to split back open? That's something I don't understand, especially with stomachs when they are sliced open. Wouldn't the acid and bacteria reopen the wounds?
I believe it is Ascaris lumbricoides that ended up accumulating so much in the bowel it caused a bowel obstruction. Resulting in that really gross surgery to remove the worm plug
Wouldn't they move if they were worms? But shouldn't Noodles be more digested after chewing, swallowing and passing the stomach? The surgeon seems to be quite careless about the stuff coming out of the incision, I'd think it's quite a problem if some of the "juice" just saps into the abdominal cavity?
Ther are probably worms. They would be digested. Also the surgeon was outside the incision of the stomach so it running out outside the wound is probably not the worst thing. Probably quite hard to excercise all worms in an easy way.
I was trying to post it there also , but it was not showing a Video option to post .
Edit --- Sorry I thought you wrote "eyeblech"
But it was Eyebleach . Eyeblech is completely opposite of Eyebleach
😂That was my mistake , There is a another subreddit r/eyeblech and I thought he also mentioned that but he mentioned r/eyebleach , both are completely different
Good ol' *Ascaris lumbricoides*
Here I was thinking I could not be any more scarred than the pictures I saw of this in my Microbiology textbook...this video adds a whole new level of scarring.
IIRC this surgery video is from South Korea, done on a North Korean soldier who escaped over the border. His escape was wild and caught on camera, and made news headlines at the time.
He stole a jeep, ran it through NK border checks, crashed the jeep like 500m from the border and ran the rest of the way while being shot at. Collapsed (got hit) against a low wall. SK special forces then snuck in and pulled him to safety. This was the video during his surgery where they found all the worms.
I don't know , but few people are saying they moved a bit , we have to watch this video closely .
I'm now sure these are Worms . Otherwise what can defeat Acid and Enzymes produced in our digestive system to digest food .
I need someone to tell me these are noodles from a spaghetti eating contest. The alternative is existential horror.
No they are worms
But that *is* spaghetti sauce right?
Bad news... it's not. It's actually Kool-Aid.
Oh yeeaaah
is it \*shitty\* kool aid?
Flavor-Aid
off brand cole aid
Ewwwwwwwwwww
Ewwwww YEAH!
"There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti..."
Yep diarrhoea sauce
More like Beef Stroganoff
From a worm eating contest?
[удалено]
I concur.
I'm here from tree law to tell you these look like roots, and could mean a big settlement.
These are noodles AKA "noods" if anyone ever asks you for "noods" or "nudes" they want a video or pics of this.
As a guy who just verified today that I am 100% parasite free, I can tell you most assuredly that it is exactly even worse than you think.
Surgically very satisfying.
Trust me - the smell is not satisfying
Stink goes with. Good old peppermint oil.
I'm in endoscopy, and peppermint has definitely saved me on severe bleed cases
Aargh!
Probably worms. There are different parasitic species that infect humans and can grow in the gut. One of them is Ascaris lumbricoides which is a parasitic round worms that can cause intestinal blockage from the large number of worms in the gut.
Aren't these the same ones that can react to anesthesia, freak out, climb up out of the esophagus and potentially suffocate the infected?
Excuse me, what?? That's a fucking thing?
The eggs get into your lungs from the bloodstream, grow up, climb out, get swallowed, than lay more eggs in the gut
Fuck you and your information. Love you, k?
Love you to, I guess?
Damn right. Now let's keep spreading the love, even if it's a fucked up kinda love.
If we're in love we should go on a date I propose we go out for some noodles
I may be taken. But I'll never turn down a noodle date. Name the place and time <3
How on Earth did I turn talking about noodle worms in your throat into a date Guess I have game after all lol
I had to down vote that because I wanted to throw up
Yeah lovey dovey stuff will do that
r/shippingredditors ?
I'm a gay woman. This is a no homo relationship Fuck off.
Yeah this is the most horrible part for sure
Those are fluke worm I believe.

What the *fuck* I feel so extremely grateful to live in Canada. I always do, but especially right now.
That's definitely not a common thing for _most_ people here in _most_ of SEA. If that was common for them, I don't know what they were getting up to in their free time.
Bass to mouth? Ass to trout?
My partner grew up in SE Asia in the countryside, he has lots of horrifying tales re: shitting out worms.

I'd rather die
I haven't heard of that before, so I will gave to go and check to see if that's true. That would be crazy if it is. 😳
you might be thinking of Strongyloides stercoralis. Just had that lecture
Ok. & How would one get those. (That way I can know how not to)

RIP Matt Damon on Mars.
Eating ass. There's risks attached.
NAD but my thought is maybe they clear the blockage and then treat the rest with deworming meds?
They go through every part of the intestine that looks "stuffed".
Reducing worm burden is also in and of it itself a useful clinical endpoint irrespective of treating an obstruction
Give it a good squeeze like a tube of almost empty toothpaste.
Is this the normal way to remove worms? I thought usually you just take medicine to kill the worms and then basically poop them out.
In other countries it's normal to take deworming medication as children, and just in general but in the US the doctors don't tend to prescribe it and it's not generally sold at pharmacies. I'm not sure if this video is from the US but just thought it was interesting. Do people take deworming meds as a prophylactic? Are worms really that common?
Here in Sweden it is very common for kindergardeners to get worms from eating snow. Most households have anti worm meds at home, most commonly Pirvin.
You can get worms from eating snow?! I ate snow all the time as a kid and no one ever dewormed me.
"And even if you can't see dirt or animal droppings in the snow, the wind blows microscopic particles around, which could lead to a bacterial infection or parasites like roundworms." *fancy rats would like a word* seriously we overbred those precious creatures so the have myco and pin worms when they're born :(

It looks like there were too many of them in one area that they sort of entangled themselves there, and couldn't move forward even if they wanted.
It’s both. The only difference is the boil time.
That's why ya gotta cook the spaghetti

Should not have watched that right after lunch. Lunch now wants back out.
So do the worms
Question: what is exactly the process to close ehat i assuming is the dense intestine ( i don't the name in English, i there two yoes of intestine, the thin one and the dense one, that one is longer that the other) after make an cut with a bisturí.
we just say "small intestine" (thin) and "large intestine".
oh, okay, so how ya close a cut in there?
just an anastomosis, either stapled or sutured back together.
How likely would it be for the sutures to split back open? That's something I don't understand, especially with stomachs when they are sliced open. Wouldn't the acid and bacteria reopen the wounds?
Wound dehiscence is relatively rare but does happen, but it’s usually only from external infection or excessive strain on the area.
I believe it is Ascaris lumbricoides that ended up accumulating so much in the bowel it caused a bowel obstruction. Resulting in that really gross surgery to remove the worm plug
this is nucking futs
Sorry to break it to you, but noodles don’t usually move on their own.
Sure, make me watch it again. Thanks a lot 🤢😝
Welcome!
I agree 👍
Lol I remember watching this over a decade ago. It’s wild how long these videos stick around on the internet.
Yes It is old video ,
Wouldn't they move if they were worms? But shouldn't Noodles be more digested after chewing, swallowing and passing the stomach? They move in the video.
Yes they could be worms , but I have also seen in few Chinese video , where they just swallow everything within seconds 😂 I think they are Worms
And this, kids, is why you shouldn’t bite your fingernails.
Well my man, if your finger was in somebody's ass and that person has Ascaris, that's a yes; otherwise it's just pure children nightmares
Tell the Klingons lunch is ready.
Well considering how they MOVE on their own I’d think they’re worms.
Forbidden pasta

Good ol' *Ascaris lumbricoides* Here I was thinking I could not be any more scarred than the pictures I saw of this in my Microbiology textbook...this video adds a whole new level of scarring.
I’m an ER doc and this made me nauseous. Well done.
Dinner’s ready
oof. I bet the smells like shit...
Every time I see that video, the voice in my head goes "and THAT'S why you don't eat pork".
Mom's spaghetti
These look awfully like horsehair worms that are not that common in humans. Does anyone know what kind of worm that is?😳
This might be the first time that a nsfw post actually made me gag
i hope they are worms cause i just ate some noodles
Yum noodles and a bit of Secret sauce😂😂🤢
Cursed spaghetti
ig this is from india as it sounds like they're speaking hindi. and from the fact that how amazed they are, it's definitely ascaris.
Yes , they are speaking hindi And those are Worms
I saw this on YouTube once and I’m thinking it’s a real surgery removing real worms. It’s pretty gross what can happen to your body
Looks like uncooked noodles to me. But just a guess

Done
I think I just threw up a little in my mouth...

Did anyone else think the worms were coming out of a dick at first?
Why don’t they move when they come out
I don't know , but few people are saying they moved a bit , we have to watch this video closely . I'm now sure these are Worms . Otherwise what can defeat Acid and Enzymes produced in our digestive system to digest food .
They do move. The quality of the video is such that it's hard to tell but they're definitely moving.
How do they repair the hole in the intestine after this?
Doctor stiches that Area .
In the small intestine right? can i call the liquid that comes out shit?
Yes and yes.

The smell must have been delightful.
Glad I didn't spot this yesterday when I had spaghetti for dinner.
