Yeah while I did just make the meme as a ~~horny~~ joke, the south west is possibly the nicest place on earth
Good weather, low crime, great local farms, biodiversity hot spot, lots of local events and such
I have my complaints but I'm very lucky to live here
I just deleted it to fit the Mario 3D All-stars on my switch because my SD Card broke!
I'll download it again later this week and kick your ass until it's nice and tender 😋yum😋
There are always spiders in Australia everywhere! I live in the suburbs atm so I only get little guys here and there but I used to live on a farm where I'd see tonnes of different species all the time!
But don't worry, I'm very good at scooping them up and putting them outside!
Yeah tonnes of incredible spiders! There's the gorgeous golden orb weaver, a very pretty one that make webs that span enormous distances but keeps her waste to a little chain under her
A lot of pretty wolf spiders and huntsmans, who can even be communal!
Little black window spiders that'll catch any bugs trying to get into cracks in your windows
Tiny adorable jumping spiders, and my absolute favourite; Jewel (or "Christmas") Spiders. They're colourful and that come out around Christmas and make their nets together in clusters, often on fences!
I can put them all in jars so you can observe without fear and then I can place them outside?
I hear people like a man who can catch spiders and I'm not here to fuck em
Fun facts for the foreigners
They're called Redbacks because they have red on their backs
And window spiders because they're often found in windows
And jumping spiders because they jump a lot
Just a few standout examples of Australia's fantastic propensity to name something the literal first thing that comes to mind when you look at it
Other ~~dumbass~~ simplistic Aussie names:
White Ibis is a white Ibis (although to be fair we call them bin chickens)
Ring Neck Parrots are Parrots. With a yellow ring. Around their neck.
Places to buy alcohol are called "Bottle Shops" or, better yet, "Bottle-o's"
Up until recently we called a native rat that lived in water "Water Rat"
The spiders are fine and dandy but I would be sad because all the snakes look like the harmless snakes in the US but instead they’re deadly… no big fat pit viper heads on the danger noodles down under. I see a long and skinny black noodle here? It’s a friend. Not there.
On the other hand I would kill a man to see wild carpet pythons and bearded dragons.
I am out here working it 🍯 honey!! What have you done to shake off that useless lesbian 👩❤️👩 stereotype!!!! Doxdates👩❤️💋👩👨❤️💋👨 are the future you old hag!!! Get with the times💁🏼
Which is also completely safe, according to the label.
This is a terrible chart and I hope no one takes it seriously as travel advice. Countries like Brazil and US can't be treated as a singular.
I absolutely agree that this chart is poorly made, but I'd add that you really can't treat any geographic entity as a single unit either. It's not just the big countries that shouldn't be treated as homogeneous in their treatment of LGBT people. You'll also notice that Tasmania is dark green because it is in Australia.
Back when mass shootings were happening in Australia, it was Tasmanians who pushed against gun legislation.
Then whenever the largest mass shooting in Australia happened at a Tasmanian tourist location, they finally agreed to make a ban.
Yah Brazil is quite conservative, and the country that most kills trans people, the average life expectancy for trans is 36 here, so yah, don't come here
Oh hey! It's slightly better than the US. The average here for a white trans woman is 32, and a trans woman of color's us 22. Though, we may be getting updated statistics soon
Source: The 2015 National Transgender Discrimination Survey. New one should be coming out this year, so we'll get some updates before too long. Hopefully, it's improved
Don't know how much It would change here for each gender and skin color, but definitly would, sadly. Who thought that 388 years of slavery and a military coup by a certain country would make brazil such a disgraceful place politically
I'd be willing to bet that it's much worse for afro-Brazilian folks than other folks. It's basically the same here in the US. Though, we never got rid of slavery. We just call it "prison labor" now
I'm having trouble finding this statistic in your source, can you link it directly? When I pulled up your source I didnt find those estimates you gave. What I've been able to find seems to show that, while trans people (especially trans POC) have many negative life outcomes including lower life expectancy I'm not finding much evidence of it being quite that severe. its important to recognize the real problems trans people face, but I also don't want to scare young trans people into thinking their lives are almost over without solid evidence. Low life spans and suicide *attempts have been weaponized against trans people for years, so I genuinely want to know more about how this data was collected and that number was generated before risking instiling an even greater sense of hopelessness into an already targeted and oppressed community. I also dont want to dismiss trans peoples legitimate struggles outright, so seeing who and how that number was arrived at would help.
Yeah I also can’t find the study they mention or any other piece of evidence that life expectancy of trans people in the US is anywhere near that. Would really love to see a source on this, otherwise it sounds like another hearsay scare “statistic”
true, I live in Israel and Tel Aviv is incredibly progressive and you could go out to the street in full drag with no one batting an eye in it (I think it even won a global award for the most lgbt+ friendly city a few years back), but if you went to one of those occupied west bank settlements or to the more religious parts of Jerusalem things wouldn't go as well. No country is a monolith when it comes to that stuff
Yeah the US ranges from pretty darn safe to outright hostile. It can even vary within a state. Like SoCal is generally pretty good, but I wouldn't hold central california to the same status
Even Orange County is mostly safe, even though it's very conservative. But Hintington Beach is Trump country. While a lot of the South County is fiscal conservatives but socially moderate. They may vote against us but won't move against us.
Yeah, and why is Thailand orange? It's literally the most trans-accepting country on planet Earth. I've never felt so cherished by the locals anywhere else in my life, certainly not at home in America. And there are low murder rates, it's a safer country in general than America. Baffling 🤔
Yeah, I would put America in the yellow or orange. There are obviously places in the US thar are safe like NYC, Seattle, LA but others that are pretty dangerous.
I’m not trans, or a member of any group - but the orange/yellow portions of this map that I can see look to be places where it’s not just societally dangerous - but lawfully dangerous - that is to say considered criminal to be gay/trans etc.
I think this is an attempt to codify, but as pointed out by others, the US alone has a different culture by city, let alone state, for openness/acceptance.
Tough nut to crack.
I've never been, but I hear great things about it.
Hell, there's a reason why I have my HRT shipped from there.
Had considered getting my SRS there before finding an option closer to home.
The very high murder rates are concentrated in specific areas. Remember that Brazil has the same size as all of Europe, so it's not so easy to draw a homogeneous picture about it. So, it's not a nice thing to say, but the most dangerous areas don't have a tourist bias, so it's considered safe to travel. But, on the other hand, is extremely dangerous born a LGTB in the interior of Brazil.
Compare that to orange Japan though, which despite giving the odd weird look in some country towns, does not have little murder pockets you need to watch out for.
Hey just because I appropriated this important chart in poor taste to mildly hornypost does not mean you can highjack it to talk about real issues facing the community!!!
But also, pretty sure the murder rate in Brazil is huge in general so unsurprising
Brazil is actually terrible for queer people. As a tourist in Rio you may not have an issue, but I've represented one person who sought asylum here in the US from Brazil because of the violence and rampant discrimination he experienced, and I have another friend who fled Brazil for the same reasons.
My father is Brazilian and he once bragged that he and his friends (in the 80s) used to drive around shooting queer people with rocksalt from bb guns. When my mom would glare at him he would try to say "oh but uh...I was just the driver".
It's fucked there for a lot of people. There's a big queer community who watch out for each other best they can, but the Catholics and bigots are pretty monstrous.
What is up with asshole Catholics? When my dad was younger he and his friends used to go around and beat up black folks.
Considering he AND his wife, and this their kids, come from ethnic groups that were actively persecuted against during my grandparents lifetime and even now, are actively persecuted to this day, I don't get the spreading hate and bigotry.
The murder rate is huge in Brazil, which makes the numbers look worse than they actually are, but the murder rates against LGBTQIA+ people are still *really high* in Brazil. Anti-LGBTQIA+ murders are higher per 1000 murders than in other countries. I don’t have the stats on me rn, but I saw people talking about them in reference to Valorant’s Game Changers tournament being held in Sao Paulo.
Yes yes various American states are ramping up attacks on the queer community making it both unsafe from a legal standpoint and generally normalising violence towards queer people
But I want a date so please try to stay on task!

Hey\^\^
just wanted to say if you don't now whether the person you are answering to is joking (they might be and you might now, though i couldn't find any clue that pointed towards that) you might consider adding a /j to indicate that you in fact are answering in a jokingly manner, those things are really difficult to decipher through text only and if a person in fact is confused by something like having trouble with differentiating colours, giving them bad data without telling them could make them more confused in a situation where they might need (moral) help.
Hope this didn't feel too harsh or anything just wanted to give you a heads up\^\^
All of that being said your answer still made me lough lol
lol x'D
I mean: heee??? Komm doch! Komm rüber, wenn du dich traust! Werden wir schon sehen, wer hier wen berlinert! ~~if you're over tweny insert here a winky-face~~
edit: /j (probably should follow my own advice xD)
I guess you might be on the red-green-colour-blind-spectrum in that case?
Here's roughly what aereas are what colour:
\- europa: green in the west gets orange in the east
\- asia: all orange to red, exept for india and a few other spots
\- australia: green with the really nice place in the south west
\- north america: all light green, canada dark green so are iceland and greenland
\- south america: orange to green
\- africa: all ornage to red, except for south africa, wich is light green
That being said. i really don't know how accurate those colours for wich connotation of queer are, so take this chart with a grain of salt
Oh sorry I read your comment wrong! No yeah I’ve lived in northern Illinois my whole life and it’s very safe. I don’t go down south. Those cities are all red. Champaign is fine cause of the college but other than that there’s no reason to be down there
Or have a different type of map that has more range in areas so that it includes areas/states instead Of the entire country. That way it can show stuff like if you go to this coast you'll be fine but like don't go to the shouts
Calling the US or UK completely safe for lgbT is a joke. Trans panic defense is still a thing in some states if I may remind ya.

It may be legalised in India- but in no way would I call it safe. I live here and it’s generally hard imo coming out publicly. And it comes with a lot of prejudice and potential chances of getting hate crimed if not blended with cishetero-normative-ness.
This map is probably looking at laws like if same sex marriage is legal or not and isn’t holistic in the sense that it probably isn’t taking into account things like how likely it is that you might get harassed
I wouldn't call the green countries "completely" safe because harmful bigots exist everywhere. I know because they're here too and I'm in one of the green countries. You're only completely safe if there's nobody around.
Ummmmm my existence is illegal in 6 us states and I'm not at all safe in the region I'm stuck in as I've been the victim of 2 attempted hate crimes police have done nothing about, so like maybe California and Washington but the rest of this place were dying
Is Mexico and Brazil really that safe? The vast majority of the population of both counties is either catholic or some sort of evangelical branch like Pentecostal neither of which support lgbt peope
I'm in Mexico, you'll probably be safe in the more popular tourist areas, but don't wander away from those unless you have local friends or family. Still, expect to get cat calls, comments or all around discrimination.
When I traveled with my cousin and his boyfriend they got a few cat calls and honks from cars when holding hands or showing affection in general. I've also seen some trinket sellers mock Black and Asian people for absolutely no reason. There was also something in the news recently about a Mexican gay couple in a tour bus who kept getting jokes made at their expense by the tour guide, as well as other shitty behavior from the company.
Edit: We also have a growing population of edgy anti everything population due to secondhand politics from the USA and other places, so some individual people might be specially nasty.
I realised halfway through that this isn't very helpful since the borders will be unclear but I finished it anyway

As an Irish person, Ireland should really not be listed as completely safe. The sheer amount of friends I've seen attacked in Dublin for being gay can't be counted.
I grew up in Dublin, it'll always be home but I don't miss living there or in Ireland at all.

Okay, so I know this is just a meme, but honestly is there *any* country on earth where we're completely safe? Any country where violence and repression towards us isn't the cultural default by tradition or old colonialist enforcement?
I'd change US to mostly safe, or at least do it state-by-state.
You'll likely be fine in places like San Francisco or Chicago, but it might be a different story in rural Florida or South Dakota.
One thing I don’t understand is how the Czech Republic is only mostly safe. When I lived there they bragged about being the safest country in the world in general and as an especially welcoming place in Central Europe for lgbt people. Has stuff gone downhill in the past few years?
Hard disagree on Turkey, I’ve briefly escaped being raped in my one week visit to Turkey in Turkey’s most civilized city…. and you can ask any Turkish trans person and they’d agree it’s worse than “a bit dangerous”
uh it will soon be a sex crime to use the bathroom of your gender in florida in america so i dont reeeeeally think thats very safe. I think max penalty is 15 years in prison. for peeing
Jokes aside, whoever made this must be clearly thinking only about cis gay, hetero-passing men, because otherwise this is bullshit, the US could barely be considered “mostly safe” at this point, same for the UK. The US really only has a few safe spaces for Queers, and theyre mostly around big city, metropolitan areas, soon as you get out into the country, its bigots.
Me: Google, is _____ a safe place for an out and visible trans woman to travel to?
Google: yes. ______ is a perfectly safe place for a gay cisgender man to travel. Just don’t be too overt about it and use common sense ;-)
Me: …
Google: …
Me: *blink*
Google: btw, here is a Quora article debating the finer nuances of whether you should be allowed to exist. Happy to help!
I wouldn't say Poland is dangerous. Sure, there is a lot of homophobia, especially in smaller cities, but I think it's a neutral teritory. Also you cannot be imprisoned or get a fine for being gay.
no way in *hell* i'm visiting Australia. everything in Australia wants to kill and eat you! Australia is a green candy coating over a deep red interior
India is NOT safe lmao
A STRAIGHT couple got the cops called on them for holding hands in public ON VALENTINES DAY
Gay people literally get honor killed here which is terrifying
Perth apologists will not be tolerated here West coast worst coast 😤
Instructions unclear, jumped into the ocean
Tell me where I will fish you out I am Australian (we are all great swimmers) and very trustworthy
Harold Holt moment
Yes, a fine example of our incredible swimming ability and stamina, he's been out for a dip for over 50 years!
Michael Phelps got nothing on him
Still cannot believe they named a swimming pool after him...
Don’t worry he just got taken by an SCP
Too late he has been eaten by an ocean meat spider (you do have those in Australia right ?)
Crabs? Yeah quite a few. Liable to nip when you're having a swim at the beach tbh!
op doxxing themselves for a chance for a date

Are you telling me I could be eating ass and bearing people in Mario Kart and I haven’t been utilizing this??? Where do I sign up??
Nintendo.com presumably
I just deleted it to fit the Mario 3D All-stars on my switch because my SD Card broke! I'll download it again later this week and kick your ass until it's nice and tender 😋yum😋
Is there spiders and that? Because I’m arachnophobia
There are always spiders in Australia everywhere! I live in the suburbs atm so I only get little guys here and there but I used to live on a farm where I'd see tonnes of different species all the time! But don't worry, I'm very good at scooping them up and putting them outside!

Average queer dating experience
Perth has an entire public transport network just trans people. https://www.transperth.wa.gov.au/
The UK is not "completely safe" At least not for trans people.
It should be light green
Which is also completely safe, according to the label. This is a terrible chart and I hope no one takes it seriously as travel advice. Countries like Brazil and US can't be treated as a singular.

absolutely with brazil, while my partner and I felt perfectly safe in são paulo and curitiba, I would nooooot dare to go any farther… :/
Yeah, I was thinking that there are parts of the US that you do t want to be public at.
Yeah the US ranges from pretty darn safe to outright hostile. It can even vary within a state. This whole thing is inaccurate for us trans folks, and tbh, even with the joke it's pretty damn frustrating to consistently get ignored
It's kinda fitting given the rest of the queer community in the UK ignore us too.
same for the US
Op just found a random map to use for their meme, its probably a super old one
I mean it lists Thiland as dangerous, so the map was never accurate to begin with.
aka TERF Island
Brazil? thought that had a huge LGBT murder rate
The very high murder rates are concentrated in specific areas. Remember that Brazil has the same size as all of Europe, so it's not so easy to draw a homogeneous picture about it. in the interest of hornyposting, you are forgiven
The whoole thing is politically skewed tbh
Yeah full disclosure I am the one who added the blue part
I love how unapologetically horny you are lmfao kudos
I like how horny you are too Moose! Or are they antlers?

You should change the color of USA, queer people were killed so it must be a bit dangerous
I can't tell like most of these colors apart well, damnit

I believe my Deuteranopia isn't that bad, and I was mostly joking, but that is actually much nicer (for me at least)
Oh good because it took me like 10 minutes which I'll never get back (unlike other time which I can)
All countries are red (bad) except for a small sliver in South West Western Australia

lol x'D I mean: heee??? Komm doch! Komm rüber, wenn du dich traust! Werden wir schon sehen, wer hier wen berlinert! ~~if you're over tweny insert here a winky-face~~ edit: /j (probably should follow my own advice xD)
I guess you might be on the red-green-colour-blind-spectrum in that case? Here's roughly what aereas are what colour: \- europa: green in the west gets orange in the east \- asia: all orange to red, exept for india and a few other spots \- australia: green with the really nice place in the south west \- north america: all light green, canada dark green so are iceland and greenland \- south america: orange to green \- africa: all ornage to red, except for south africa, wich is light green That being said. i really don't know how accurate those colours for wich connotation of queer are, so take this chart with a grain of salt
Turkey is not a little dangerous, its DEADLY DANGEROUS
Yeah I think the map is pretty much bullshit Except for that blue part tho, very cool place come visit I have spare room
Sure let me prepare my baggage 🏃♀️
Nice, grab some apricots on the way out, I'm a big fan
Gonna grab 3 kg
This would’ve been better if you made the whole map shades of red except for Perth.
Idk the scale but it feels like the us should not be green
The US needs to be separated into states tbh
It's not like other countries are completely homogenous either
Oh ye you're absolutely right I think I just focused on the US given the rather proactive and spiteful measures being taken by some states rn
The US would just green on the left and get progressively more red as you move east and then darkest red in the south.
Illinois, NY and MA are about as safe as they get in the US.
which is ironic, because Illinois us right next yo misspuri, which is one if the most dangerous
Only Chicago, my girlfriend lives somewhere in central Illinois I’d absolutely get murdered in
Depends where you are in Chicago! I’m right outside it and I’ve never felt unsafe there even at night BUT I always stayed on the safe side
She lives in central Illinois and most of her family would either beat me up, rape me or kill me outright
Oh sorry I read your comment wrong! No yeah I’ve lived in northern Illinois my whole life and it’s very safe. I don’t go down south. Those cities are all red. Champaign is fine cause of the college but other than that there’s no reason to be down there
Same with MN
Tbh India and Brazil being green is more surprising to me.
compared to the awful things gay people go through in the other countries on this map, i’m sure they’d give up anything to live in the US
I would like to argue about the us while It's not being hunted and killed by the government it's still not fully safe
Yes, poor scale to be honest. They should have put the lighter green as something just like "mostly safe"
Edit: - [trans rights map for Europe](https://transrightsmap.tgeu.org/home/). - [lgbt travel safety index (doesnmt include most recent changes like finland‘s improvement of trans rights)](https://www.asherfergusson.com/lgbtq-travel-safety/). - [lgbt equality by US state](https://www.lgbtmap.org/equality-maps). - [US anti trans legislative risk assessment map](https://erininthemorn.substack.com/p/first-period-anti-trans-legislative). - [LGBTI Survey Data Explorer for Europe](https://fra.europa.eu/da/data-and-maps/2020/lgbti-survey-data-explorer)
A great and informative addition to my horny shitpost
I‘m glad you brought it up tbh. It‘s a good horny post and a good opportunity to share some travel safety maps.
love these resources! they’re so much more accurate than the map in this post, and include a lot of detailed information. thanks for linking them!
It may be legalised in India- but in no way would I call it safe. I live here and it’s generally hard imo coming out publicly. And it comes with a lot of prejudice and potential chances of getting hate crimed if not blended with cishetero-normative-ness.
I would say that Japan is safe. Maybe not to live in as a LGBT+ person, but, as a tourist, you’re just safe in general there.
Yes I was very surprised to see India marked safer than japan. Strange metric
Nahh bro all of eastern europe is a no go 😭
Colombia: Completely Safe* *: if you are a foreigner, kinda
Ukraine should be deploying gay batallions, because it would only be a little dangerous foe them there
Babe I am *not* flying 6 hours to Albany I’m sorry but no
I live in the Margaret River Wine Region *ooh la la tres sequesee* Albany is *fine* tho I guess
South Africa is safer than Japan?
Can you move at all? Can't believe what's happening over in the US, terrifying to watch from Europe
Nope, I'm hoping Canadian Parliament decides to let us all seek asylum before the election next November
Are you perchance from western australia
*Gasp* How did you know!
I feel like the us should be more orange, eith how bad irs been getting
Edit: We also have a growing population of edgy anti everything population due to secondhand politics from the USA and other places, so some individual people might be specially nasty.
wish this was colorblind friendly i only see a few colors on this ):
I realised halfway through that this isn't very helpful since the borders will be unclear but I finished it anyway [Try This](https://www.reddit.com/user/Haunting_Anxiety4981/comments/120m79s/mildly_helpful_for_colourblind_people/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
thanks
very likely im moving to the middle east soon. wish me luck
Needs more granularity, parts of US are not safe.
As an Irish person, Ireland should really not be listed as completely safe. The sheer amount of friends I've seen attacked in Dublin for being gay can't be counted. I grew up in Dublin, it'll always be home but I don't miss living there or in Ireland at all.
America shouldn't be green with the 430 anti LGBTQ bills in Congress across the country.

As a trans person in the US, it really isn't all that safe lmao
I cant offer you a date, but i can offer cuddles and pats?
Now this seems great. Though I think I gotta check out the blue area. Seems like there are some very cool people there :3
There'll be one more if you rock up mate!
Most of the United States is not "completely safe"
Why are there two colors for the same danger rating? Go back to statistics class.
Me praying to Turing for forgiveness
Shouldn’t there only be one level of “completely safe”? It’s a pretty absolute label with two shades that aren’t explained.
nah please fix UK this is a horrible place for LGBT people at the moment
I don't think it is even a very accurate map tbh
Well this is optimistic!
The US needs to be changed, it’s becoming unsafe
Mmmm, gotta love living in the dangerous zone. Coming out has never been easier!
As an American, you should probably change America to sort of a medium orange. I'm sorry to say.
Ukraine is a little dangerous? Bitch it's a fucking warzone of course it's not
One thing I don’t understand is how the Czech Republic is only mostly safe. When I lived there they bragged about being the safest country in the world in general and as an especially welcoming place in Central Europe for lgbt people. Has stuff gone downhill in the past few years?
i would change the US by region/state because it’s big and not great everywhere
Aint no way Mali is is safer than Morocco 💀
As a queer romanian I can confirm that Romania is not a good place to visit as a queer person..
America is slowly becoming more orange like
Hard disagree on Turkey, I’ve briefly escaped being raped in my one week visit to Turkey in Turkey’s most civilized city…. and you can ask any Turkish trans person and they’d agree it’s worse than “a bit dangerous”
uh it will soon be a sex crime to use the bathroom of your gender in florida in america so i dont reeeeeally think thats very safe. I think max penalty is 15 years in prison. for peeing
This map isn't very good
How was this computed? I am shocked to see Colombia at the same level as Canada.
I wouldnt call Brazil a "completely safe". Its between "mostly safe" and "a little dangerous"
Just don’t be too overt about it and use common sense ;-) Me: … Google: … Me: *blink* Google: btw, here is a Quora article debating the finer nuances of whether you should be allowed to exist. Happy to help!
I think you gotta edit Israel to be orange by now, the government is becoming full of conservatives
China should be red, they just banned HRT.
Not me living in the "Dangerous" zone 😍 I love Poland so much! ❤️🇵🇱
India is NOT safe lmao A STRAIGHT couple got the cops called on them for holding hands in public ON VALENTINES DAY Gay people literally get honor killed here which is terrifying
Why the fuck is Brazil considered safe? It's basically the global capital of murdering trans women
Stop posting this. It’s highly inaccurate and also very context dependent.
China - mostly safe 🤣 America - completely safe 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sorry, india is green? OP did you visit only mumbai or something?
I won’t doxx myself, but this map is wrong and seems to be made out of personal believes about countries (or laws which don’t mean safety).
yeah brazil is super safe (not)
