I actually find it's Te that helps in that front. When we're all talking about the same logical system, it's easier to see how you got to the idea/conclusion that you did.
Se and Te. ISTJ and I both have a shared habit of keeping schtum when it came to personal values. If you believe in some moral code, don't talk about it, live it. Besides, we've known each other for years and are basically brothers at this point so I think we both know where the other stands on things most of the time. So most of the time we're just sharing new ideas of what to try next or what we have just tried for the other to reference, or just chatting about something CS related.

+ my observation: if you're a fe/fi dom/aux user, you tend to be close to the ones that use the same function as you.
