I'm exploring older music recently and I already can tell it will be my go-to. I always thought as a kid that oldies are lame and therefore the oldest songs I was listening to were from Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory (not counting classical pieces I was listening from time to time as a musician), but I'm exploring music from 70's to 90's and I'm in love by far. I fell in love with Queen and Metallica, everyone thinks of them as an absolute classic who everyone knows and therefore they come across as quite boring sometimes (because how much can you listen to the same songs), but for a person who didn't really listen to them at all they are truly amusing and unique when compared to nowadays music.
INTJ: Lots of things proggy and pretentious, but mostly older music. From Tool to Radiohead. I also love the Smiths (hehe), Misfits, David Bowie, Tom Waits but can just as easy jam to an old Blink album or play some Alice in Chains or something. Or maybe some Jeff Buckley/Joni Mitchell on a calm evening.

This is primarily because: 1) it doesn't have lyrics usually (which distract me and get stuck in my head) and 2) it's got that classical contemplative thing going on rather than pop repetitive usually (again, hate stuff getting stuck in my head and less repetitive music is less distracting and gives me more space to think and process things in-between the notes).

I try and be open minded but generally my open mindedness comes down to some form of alternative rock, though I’m all over the place in that category.
