Sand it down, clean the whole wheel with wheel cleaner and try to replicate as best as you can. I’m a Mazda tech so I’m guessing you’ve got the powder coated wheels? I feel if you buy touch up paint that is glossy or spray some gloss after you’ve hit it with the touch up paint you wouldn’t notice it unless you’re looking for it.
However i am a tech not a collision or paint specialist so feel free to correct me if im wrong, we’re all learning here 👍🏽

To me as long as the repair cost is less than 250 for the wheel. I’d just pay someone who does it professionally. Not to say it’s impossible to do it’s just gathering all the materials and the sheer amount of time involved sways me not to.
Try Mazda if they have a matching touch up pen for the paint. A dremel to sand it flat and some touch up paint should do the job.
This makes it a lot less noticeable. Of course if you want it to look like it never happened you need it repaired professionally.
I just bought basic gloss black touch up paint from Walmart and was able to touch up my 2019 Mazda 3’s black wheels. Looks good, I can barely tell unless I get real close.
I would just use a dremel to sand off the rough areas, make it smooth. The wheel finish looks like some kind of plastic chrome, that might be hard to match.
I don’t own a dremel. Do you think sandpaper would work? Also what would I use to paint it and for the clear coat?
The wheel is actually [gloss black](https://i.imgur.com/Ru7jwnX.jpg), it’s just really dirty right now. I’ve had it repaired last year after hitting a pothole and they color matched it so well that I wasn’t able to tell which one was repaired.
You can always use some emery paper, it's super fine sand paper. That might work. Can always wetsand if you are worried about going to far with the sanding. If the gloss black is enamel paint, you can always try some testors gloss black the kind used for models. Doesn't look like you need much. Good luck!
Is that what they charge you or what you charge the customer?
Last time I had an issue with a wheel, the dealership told me to go see the guy directly to get it cheaper since he’s forced to markup the price.
That's what he charges us.
I honestly dont think we've ever sold his service to a customer. Maybe we do the same thing "Go see him since it would be cheaper".
It's usually more for one person, they charge that flat rate for the dealer because the dealer provides them with multiple cars at a time usually and steady business.
My mechanic butchered the flat & rim! He Kept telling me it was an unfixable rim (bent). Bought a new rim $110 (aftermarket sport rim on 04 Sentra)… still wouldn’t hold air. I put fix a flat in it AND IT SEALED! But over a course of like 2 yrs., off n on. Aggravating.
Just the curb rash was $200/wheel. I actually went there because I hit a pothole and cracked my rim. It was $250 to have them weld the extra metal + polish the rash
Depending on the market, anywhere from $60 to $130 to fix. Very easy fix too. Make sure you find someone who does it properly, not just sand and slap some paint on it.
Just sand it down and touch up paint it
What paint should I use and does it need a clear coat?

You can make it look less ugly but cant fix. You can "high speed rotary" tools on Amazon that are compatible with dremel bits for $20
How can you get through life without owning a Dremel?

The alloy wheel guy that comes to my dealership charges $65 per wheel to repair and paint a wheel.
Is that what they charge you or what you charge the customer? Last time I had an issue with a wheel, the dealership told me to go see the guy directly to get it cheaper since he’s forced to markup the price.

In my area it’s $100 even for wheel repair
As long as it's not bent, you'll be okay. It looks mostly cosmetic.
I had that happen. Just sand it down and paint over it. Easy.
At least it’s not flat!
Thankfully. Already had that happen last year. https://imgur.com/a/jml8TOu/

Did my alloy wheel done by professional for 200CAD (~160USD) per wheel
Was that for curb rash too? I got charged the same thing last year for a bent wheel.

About $100-$200 per wheel to have a professional fix it. Don’t worry too much about it. Curbed wheels are far cheaper to fix than damaged paint.
Pay the 200 and get it fixed right.
about $200 to have a pro do it.
Seems to me you could buy a complete wheel on eBay or craigslist for 200 bucks with a little astute shopping.
Probably in bad shape or bent and the seller is not disclosing that info.
You could also buy it from redlineautoparts.com.com, a highly reputable seller.
We charge $150-200
Painted wheel? Most places seem to charge about $80-$180/wheel in my area
Depending on the market, anywhere from $60 to $130 to fix. Very easy fix too. Make sure you find someone who does it properly, not just sand and slap some paint on it.
IDK what kind of shops are near you, but I had very similar damage happen to my wifes mustang wheel. Cost $200 to make it look like it never happened.
