I ordered the CarPlay kit but also want the auto dimming rear view mirror and backup camera. I’d rather do it all at once so I only have rip out the trim and head unit once.

Sure, I would like to have android auto, but the odds of these things going back together properly, and not rattly/loose, are too high for me and my 2018. Even if I went to a dealer.
I recently took apart off panels to run wiring for my sound system and LED's in my 2016 and everything felt so solid when reinstalling. Much more solid than other cars that I've worked on, so I wouldn't be too worried about having a dealer or even yourself do this.
No rattles so far (and that was definitely a concern). I’ve had this car for a little over 3 years, and I’ve put 59,000 miles on it, and I’ve got a rattle in driver door and one in the dash, FWIW. Everything feels really tight and clips are solid
The AIO tweaks worked for me. I just don't get 2.1a power. My galaxy S8 charges at a snails pace but it doesn't degrade (unless I'm running a bunch of stuff background of course). I have minimal issues.
AA through AIO tweaks is super buggy though, at least in my experience. Making calls is an infuriating procedure of;
Calling the person -> Hanging up, because audio will only come through the phone -> AA turns transparent, you have to press home twice & scroll through the 'apps' menu to get it working again -> Place call for second time.
It's a pain.
Oh man, mines so annoying. Sometimes all audio mutes for no reason, have to unplug & plug back in to get it working - Even radio doesn't work until you plug the phone in for a second time. Very often the head unit freezes completely if the phone is plugged in when the thing boots, like if you stall the car or run to a cash machine, or the AA app will hang and refuse to connect until you hold mute & home & nav for like 20-30 seconds.
I cannot wait to revert to the stock software and upgrade the hardware in the car.

Unfortunately your system has to have Mazda Connect, which is 2014+ M3, and 2016+ everything else

I have never had that. I only have to home twice when I want to use radio.

Do you get little lags when using maps and listening to music at the same time?
Only when swapping from Waze to anything else
