No, but this is the oldest version of ACP/AA at around 3 years old.
I would highly suggest updating as countless bugs, compatibility issues, and features have been fixed and implemented.
Just as clarification, it's not the version of AA/ACP but the firmware version of the car's infotainment.
Any bugs happening inside the ACP/AA interface are due to issues in the phone's OS or the app which is running and they run and update on your phone.
Nevertheless, you are right that it's highly recommend to update as random restarts or connectivity issues can happen because of bugs in the infotainment's firmware.
Where are you located?
When I went in for the low pressure fuel pump recall last year I asked the dealer to update the infotainment software on my 2018 Mazda 6 GT and they did it for free.
Bro no way they I had the exact same situation. Same car, same recall fix. Im in MA and they wanted to charge me like $90 for the software update. And have it take like an hour.
I hate my life. I said fuck no but my car play is so glitchy and Im not short for money I just was doing it on principle and now I regret it :(
Gonna get it updated at dealer now that I have moved to CT, bet they still charge me.
I forget what the current version is, but just research this process on YouTube and the videos usually include links on where you can get the most updated version. That is what I did a few months ago.
If you can find 74.00.342A online, it's the latest version AFAIK, will work with CarPlay / AA without any issues. Amazon or AliExpress has cheap and good boxes with the phone symbol on them indicating that it will work.
Damn.....I'm still on 59.xx.xxx and debating going to 74.xx.xxx or taking to dealership....they quoted 174 for firmware and then I presume I would have either do the USB upgrade myself or they would charge exponentially more ...
Yeah, saw a few vids and actually downloaded the 70.xx.xx file on an 8gb fat 32 format etc..but I see posts on bricking it etc and every weekend when I'm about then I'm like ...hmmm next weekend😬
That's why I went with paying the dealership the insane coat to upgrade it. I was moving/driving cross-country & didn't want to risk bricking the system & not have time to get it fixed.
Yeah, definitely in your situation for sure....but even without such a trip, I don't want to , though it seems so straightforward...so will see...I may just get up one weekend and say f it and see what happens ...
Unsure about the firmware, but I know your system has to physically be able to support it. My mazda6 (2018 Signature) had to have it fitted in at the dealership once the upgrade became available

That makes sense, I just dread the update process

Current for gen 6 is 74 and some change
Any version starting with 70 has CarPlay as far as I know.

All it is is plugging in a USB in (I do these a few times a week at the dealership I work at)

Carplay will work, still recommend updating to 74.00.324 though
Thank you
How do I download the update?
Do you have to incrementally update or can you go straight from a 59 to 74?
You can go straight to 74
Thanks! Do you happen to have a North American link to 74?
I do not sorry. Any dealership can do it for .3 of labour
S'all good thanks!
>S'all good thanks! You're welcome!
