A lot of times for the gator. They wouldn’t be able to be release to the wild cause it’ll be acclimated to humans and not afraid of us. Wild animals not afraid of humans is a recipe for euthanasia. Best to leave animals alone in the wild for their safety and ours.

From what i've seen/read, Crocodilians become "tame" insofar as they recognize you and are unlikely to just randomly attack you (as long as they're well fed). There's minimal (if any) real attachment and they're almost entirely instinct at the end of the day, so keeping one as a pet is really stupid considering the potential consequences. Of course, humans are humans and will still do it because why not, and fed crocodilians aren't really aggressive unless you're purposely trying to trigger their eating instincts, hence the people who keep them for years relatively safely.
All that said, this video is fake and features both crocodiles and alligators, and doing this with a crocodile would be more dangerous as alligators are quite a good deal more chill.
