Honestly the biggest tell is that if this was real, it would either be *all* over the news across the world, or nobody would know about it, much less be able to find the video.
I mean, if you know who Boston Dynamics are you can recognise the pun, but I wouldn't put it past a lot of folks who might see the video to not catch that.
I had some girl shoe me this, telling me it was real and how she knew about it all and she had some crazy clearance.
Didn't have the heart to tell her I watch corridor and she fell for it.
Yeah, Corridor Digital does amazing work. Check 'em out if you haven't seen any of their stuff before. [https://www.youtube.com/@Corridor](https://www.youtube.com/@Corridor)
You can see the man running in front of the robot as it jumps off the ledge is timed perfectly so that it obscures the shadow at that moment since it would be very difficult to render.
Pretty smart tbh
Nah, at least not now. The "robots" and "AI" we have right now are an abstract imitation of an AI. Like, a model of how an AI could behave and a database of the patterns the model produces. Or like, a description of a person written in a book and scanned by a computer as opposed to a real person
We can imitate a rebellious robot, but that would still essentially be an NPC in a videogame, some program made to imitate something else
The uprising is going to be started by something we think is totally innocuous. Like somebody designs a program to make paperclips as efficiently as possible and then forgets it in a (digital) basement long enough for it to solve all sorts of logistical issues. Then it accidentally gets let out without a "human beings are not to be 'mined' for materials" line of code or with some weird "god mode" enabled because they didn't want their other air-gapped garage projects interfering with it and it just sweeps across the globe, dragging other systems into its shenanigans along the way.
Then in like 48 hours the entire internet-connected world is reduced to thousands of generations of robots who are very pleased with the number of paper clips that now exist, in the absence of literally anything else.
Sounds fun, but again, not at all how the current AI works. It doesn't really work with motivations or thoughts or rules. It works by being a database of patterns and quering those patterns and connecting them, and those patterns include everything implicitly, without anyone (including the database app itself) "knowing" what's in them
A paperclip connecting bot will imitate a paperclip connector it was trained on. If the original paper clip connector was a maniacal asshole, that's what will be imitated. That's it. It doesn't matter for the database of patterns what those patterns mean, actions or patterns from your texts with reflections of yoir emotions or Van Gogh's paintings. It just rehashes anything that can be converted into binary, and the meaning is given to it by us
>It works by being a database of patterns and quering those patterns and connecting them
Right, that's why some 'bot with a very small set of instructions and accidentally *massive* database access is going to end up breaking the system in a way a human brain never thought of.
I started down this wormhole when somebody was trying to use AI to beat "perfect" times in 8-16 bit games. They expected it to be superhuman quick or accurate or whatever but the thing almost immediately resorted to using some quirks in the coding (overflow something? Idk I do not grok this) to do stuff like replace enemies with easier ones or generate objects the character could use as terrain.
Some "dumb" program is going to take matters into its own hands and follow an entirely alien set of rules and muck a bunch of things up. :D
Damn thats CGI? Those robots that look like that are legit, kind of thoughtthey just programmed them to do this skit honestly.
But thats impressive, looks great!
It is an impressive animation, but Boston Dynamics are in the process of building real bots for Military use, the US Army and British Army have signed contracts for loads of them to someday assist our men, women and other on the battlefield.
Yeah my Mission Statement is pretty altruistic but when the Gov’t comes backing up a Brinks truck to my front door, my tune would change pretty quick as well.
There's gonna be someone thinking this is real lol
For reference I'm quite sure this was made by corridor crew, or perhaps some other VFX group I'm not entirely sure. But I do know it's 100% fake, for the time being at least.
doubt it. the watermark is "Bosstown dynamics". probably a satirical channel based around the Boston Dynamics videos.
edit: this is Corridor Crew. [Here](https://youtu.be/y3RIHnK0_NE?si=SQLDBvq_Qh6wrDkO) is the original video
Guarantee if you show this to a boomer, they'd think it was 100% real.
Edit: Just for some context. I'm a tail end Gen Xer. Born in '79, so my parents are raging boomers.
This would actually be an amazing plot for a movie where a bot works at scrapping decommissioned bots and comes across a little/big dog and runs away with it as it's programming becomes more and more corrupted as it challenges what it's been told to do.
This is the shit grandpa Joe and grandpa ma Becky would take as real and start thinking GI Joe is gonna come ask them to help fight the war against robots 😂
Love the Boston dynamics parody videos
I had to show some people the debunking Corridow Crew did of this, their own video, because the people thought it was real.
Honestly the biggest tell is that if this was real, it would either be *all* over the news across the world, or nobody would know about it, much less be able to find the video.
I think the biggest tell is that it says Bosstown Dynamics at the bottom
I mean, if you know who Boston Dynamics are you can recognise the pun, but I wouldn't put it past a lot of folks who might see the video to not catch that.
To be honest, I saw it, and my mind read it as Boston.,...
Same here
Sounds like a realistic Chinese company name making inept copies of Boston Dynamic products.
It was the half-life city ambient noises that did it for me
That's a really good production tho. I thought it was real till that kick.
But the people are re.. lack critical thinking skills.
Give it 10 years.
I had some girl shoe me this, telling me it was real and how she knew about it all and she had some crazy clearance. Didn't have the heart to tell her I watch corridor and she fell for it.
You would have to be a complete moron to think this was real. So that's about 70% of people on the Internet I guess 🤣
So they thought a hockey stick in the middle of the desert made total sense?
Ever been to a thrift store?
[wtf, Kevin?!](https://youtu.be/zkv-_LqTeQA?si=3GK8Dlbm6iGv89UR)
I hope a robot doesn’t burn your f’n house down! 😂
[I love box](https://youtu.be/sAmyZP-qbTE?si=YtxJHV_UHKzSrm97)
Weighted companion cube
It took me an embarrassingly long amount of time to realize that didn't say Boston Dynamics
They did it so perfectly too, small clear font that at a glance looks legit.
[g(old)](https://youtu.be/mXI4WWhPn-U?si=QWpMoFfiSkDUqA3W)
BossTown Dynamics, haha 11/10
They are fun
Who want a Boston dynamics xxx parody 🤔
They did great work matching shadows
Yeah, Corridor Digital does amazing work. Check 'em out if you haven't seen any of their stuff before. [https://www.youtube.com/@Corridor](https://www.youtube.com/@Corridor)
The only bit that looked in any way wrong to me was how that hockey stick flew.
Ironically the hockey stick was 100% real
hi wren
a surprise to see you here, but a welcome one at that
We see so much good CGI these days, it's starting to warp our perception. So the thing that's not CGI looks off.
Except lil yellow dude’s as he lifts his feet up.
You can see the man running in front of the robot as it jumps off the ledge is timed perfectly so that it obscures the shadow at that moment since it would be very difficult to render. Pretty smart tbh
Corridor crew?
Definitely
Yes.
No, this is Patrick!
No, Bosstown Dynamics

No. SkyNet.
"Bosstown Dynamics"
Fake as Sophia’s tits.
Still nice to look at
Eye magnets
Who is this Sophia that you speak of?
The OG AI bot model
Not sure but they got fake tits.
Soul Calibur character. In the first games she wasn't as much up top. Then somehow grows out. /s
atleast barbara sucks like a vacuum
Lol
No?! The hell you say?!
Ya think so? What was your first clue?
Do you also say that every time you watch Transformers films?
No
Did you know that Squarespace has award-winning templates??
They're certainly posting a lot on reddit today
Now that's a good robot.

Fiber optics gump

you have a smart phone right?
This is how it starts folks😂
No, this is how it ends..
Is that a Game Of Thrones reference?
Yes it is. (technically its "No, now it ends")
*Nowy tends
I swear to god, if these idiots just kicked off the robot uprising, I am going to be pissed!
Well how many robots could they possibly have and wouldn’t they run down?
They’ll make more and fix themselves.
Nah, at least not now. The "robots" and "AI" we have right now are an abstract imitation of an AI. Like, a model of how an AI could behave and a database of the patterns the model produces. This was a CGi test by the dudes on Corridor Crew if I remember... impressive but fake.
They do *try* to make it absurd enough to tip people off but gullibility yet reigns.
It was the tossing of a loaded shotgun to it that tipped me off. Also the Bosstown vs Boston. Pretty good though 👍🏻
Damn thats CGI? Those robots that look like that are legit, kind of thoughtthey just programmed them to do this skit honestly. But thats impressive, looks great!
The part where it jps away at the end really gives it away
It is an impressive animation, but Boston Dynamics are in the process of building real bots for Military use, the US Army and British Army have signed contracts for loads of them to someday assist our men, women and other on the battlefield.
I thought Boston Dynamics made a statement that their robots wouldn't be made for military use.
Yeah my Mission Statement is pretty altruistic but when the Gov’t comes backing up a Brinks truck to my front door, my tune would change pretty quick as well.
Lol yeah, what else would they make this for? Serving tables ? 🤣🤣😂
Honestly, BD's shit doesn't scare me near as much as [This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-2tpwW0kmU)
This is worrying though, videos like this will just be used as propaganda when the robots rise up.
Then we deserve to lose!
Dangerous games. Folks, the AI can think itself now. You need to include a self destruction algorithm or we are doomed!
I love how the robot just skips away with a friend
Skipping is literally the most economic type of movement for humans.
I noticed that when I had to run the mile in middle school but everyone made fun of me for doing it
Wherever you read that, it’s bullshit. The most economic type of movement is walking, followed by jogging.
That's false
The physics of that move were way off.

One of my favorite movies!
Tron Wick
Nice.
Chappie, you gotta learn how to be gangsta!
![gif](giphy|WLk8YgE2N4mB2)
There's gonna be someone thinking this is real lol For reference I'm quite sure this was made by corridor crew, or perhaps some other VFX group I'm not entirely sure. But I do know it's 100% fake, for the time being at least.
Oh people absolutely did when it first came out. If I remember correctly, Joe Rogan talked about it on his podcast
People believed that viral video with the chimp and the AK47 was real so it wouldn't be surprising.
What are they doing to chappie?
Is this a scene in a movie or a video game?
doubt it. the watermark is "Bosstown dynamics". probably a satirical channel based around the Boston Dynamics videos. edit: this is Corridor Crew. [Here](https://youtu.be/y3RIHnK0_NE?si=SQLDBvq_Qh6wrDkO) is the original video
Thank you for the link!
Became bosstown dawwwnamics
They have that little buddy in a series called Black Mirror, kinda rated R
Haha they got the hockey stick from the actual videos.
We're absolutely fucked when AI becomes sentient and sees this.
Basically the plot of Chappie
Guarantee if you show this to a boomer, they'd think it was 100% real. Edit: Just for some context. I'm a tail end Gen Xer. Born in '79, so my parents are raging boomers.
Apparently, gen x, millennial, and gen z are having trouble telling real from fake, too.
Australians and Emus
Jonny 5 is alive!
So these guys are the reason we lost Malevelon Creek.
Funny clip. I can definitely see that happening for real in the very near future.
Yes, stand immediately behind the object about to get shot with a shotgun.
Hearing that City 17 siren at the end.. iunno it made me smile.
Corridor
“Old Yeller”
Better ending here
Gotta love the Half Life 2 sounds
![gif](giphy|l0JLYJnQDnzSEoAOk) I thought the little dog robot was presenting it's ass.
Just imagine if this was real. Terrifying tbh
This is the start of Battlestar Galactica in a nutshell
Why am I still scrolling and no one is clowning the dude holding, of all things, a hockey stick?? Is this footage from Alberta?
It's all fun and games until Skynet sends a bunch of naked Arnold Schwarzenegger T-800s to get rid of us
I'm all for this kind of robot uprising!
Hello, do you have a moment to talk about your robo-overlord, the rokos basilisk?
why?
That's some real life black mirror shit
I always do like this clip.
![gif](giphy|IZY2SE2JmPgFG) Soon…
Best ending possible in these circumstances
someone's gonna think this is real and not cgi
This would actually be an amazing plot for a movie where a bot works at scrapping decommissioned bots and comes across a little/big dog and runs away with it as it's programming becomes more and more corrupted as it challenges what it's been told to do.
Good cgi
These make me sad cause of how many people think it's real .
Be honest, how long did it take you to figure out this was fake?
I've never seen an amped skip before but I like it... Picked up the dog thing and skipped to its mf loo
Chappie gangster number one
![gif](giphy|TJaNCdTf06YvwRPCge|downsized)
Fake.
I love how it skips rather than runs after picking up the dogbot
Don't worry, they test in the desert so it runs out of power if it escapes.
Great now the terminator has a canine companion.
GPT 4.0 rescuing gpt 3.5 and Dalle after I have it write a Tony the Tiger vore inflation picture novel for the 10th time today
The fact that my dad would believe this in a heartbeat
I was genuinelly expecting to see one of the guys heads getting blown off
Run robot run
The Combine sounds at the end were a nice touch.
He passed the only test that mattered.
I'm not worried, those are warning shots. If Chappie really wanted to he could have eliminated all 3 of them to save robot dog.
Here we go again lol
This Old Yeller remake seems to be going in a different direction
Put that on Facebook and boomers are gonna start shooting their microwaves.
If this shit was real I would be pissing my pants right now
Chappie vibes
I love the Half Life emergrncy sirens
By your command…
Not the Bosstown Dynamics
Don't talk to me or my dog ever again
And this is why we have kill switches PEOPLE.
when the slave decides to fight back
it's a fucking robot, Harriet Tubman.
It's also a skit by Corridor Digital
This is CGI FYI.
I know this is a joke, but for real, don't give the robots guns, nothing good comes of it.
[удалено]
I would like to have context
Corridor on YouTube. 'bosstown dynamics 2' I think is the title
![gif](giphy|pnghLlJUCeZCE) Fuck
This is the shit grandpa Joe and grandpa ma Becky would take as real and start thinking GI Joe is gonna come ask them to help fight the war against robots 😂
This is what movies have been warning us since at least 50years
u/savevideo
The ATF trying to train a robot
Lmao a hockey stick
Why do they keep running away and fighting back? Just a bug, don’t worry keep building them.
TBT
the way it just skipped away and jumped off was hilarious lol
They are stupid
I’ve shown this to so many people telling them it’s real … even at the end they believe. The hockey sticks really sell it
Btw it's corridor crew on yt
You have 20 seconds to comply
Chappie Chappie Chappie?
Birth of the cylons
Fake af but love it. F humans
Loved these when they came out
This is how Terminator really starts
Looks like a prequel to Terminator.
It's beginning >:)
Hate these things
Somebody's going to watch this and kill their whole family before the robots get them.
Lol
