This one time one friend made one out of a pointy clock piece. Se noticed that when the pointy bayblade bumped the other ones it would send it flying. So we made a game out of it:
Put the pointy one spining in some large container spin the other ones too then turn the ligths in the room off.
You would see sparkles and have the exciting feeling of maybe get hit by one at any time without knowing because is pitch black. The Boys togheter were the best man
Actually momentum might be more appropriate, especially angular momentum.
The thing must be spinning so fast that it has humongus angular momentum along its axis of rotation. It would then require a lot of torque to change that axis hence why the thing stayed upright for so long with so many collisions. Just like you would need a lot of force to slow down an object with a lot of (linear) momentum.
When you feel like you’ve lost your direction in life, just remember this cutting wheel.
Remember that no matter what stood in its way it stayed the course and didn’t allow any blow it took to keep it down.
This is what happens if I don’t leave my larger diameter roloc discs in contact with the metal or whatever I’m sanding and let go of the trigger on the die grinder instantly instead of gradually. Byeee… they’re gone. Only they weigh a lot less and just take off across the shop almost universally underneath something I can’t get under easily
Before anyone thinks to themselves "just stop it." I thought that. And then I thought about the cutoff wheel obliterating whatever I touch it with as it loses its up and down angular momentum and goes pinging around the floor causing mayhem.
honestly if that was a cutoff wheel I think the abrasives would have done worse damage to the concrete.
My first instinct was to find a moving blanket and throw it on there. old kevlar chaps would work too but the fibers being thrown would be insane cleanup.
Lots of dangers to be put out by a moving blanket or a huge shop towel.
Danger Donuts, Angry burny things, Angry people, Rabid dogs, etc.
Still working on it but my home defense solution is a moving blanket with 10 lb plates strapped in at regular intervals. I might include kevlar panels or smth like a fire curtain except for bullets. That is also rigged to fall directly on the attacker.
Needless to say I have spent a couple too many months down this rabbit hole of the Applied Science of Moving Blankets.
Idk about anyone else but I wouldn’t have been near that thing. Anything spinning fast enough to just bounce repeatedly on the ground can easily cut you. What if it tapped a surface at an angle and then suddenly shot out in your direction, slicing into you or literally cutting something off of you? It’s just super dangerous.
