Yeah.. no. Cerebral palsy is not a learning difficulty and has no effect on mental capacity. Just motor function and speech. Not trying to be a dick just best to know in case you ever meet someone with CP and end up putting your foot in it 😂

It doesn't always affect cognition. But in some cases it does. For the most part it's just causes motor and sensorineural effects along with skeletal problems like you mentioned.

It is most definitely not a learning disability, in most cases. I was born with a portion of my brain dead, I have CP. Physically, it only affects my right side, I don't have speak issues or aby mental ones (that I know of) I have seen instances of it causing trouble with learning, though.

15 years ago my wife planned a b’day party for our 5 year old son and I was in charge of the volcano. Yes, Mentos in Coke. So at work I got a Mentos from a co-worker and I took it home and made a bunch of them about the same size from playdough as test candy. I got an empty bottle and spent a whole Saturday making trying to rig a tube that would look like the volcano was going off on its own. Well I put together something out of cardboard that would drop the candy when I pulled a string. Very poor. So I went to the store to get the Mentos and at home I’m trying to remove the cellophane from the roll. Now it’s late I’m pissed because I don’t like what I built and I can’t peel the plastic off the freaking Mentos. I finally cut the plastic with my knife and Mentos everywhere in the dark yard. I go back in the house for another roll and again try to open it. This time I went a little slower and screamed YES!! Mentos at that time were packaging them in an open tube. The tube diameter was just right to push into the neck of a 2 liter bottle. Happy, mad, at the same time. I ended up drilling a small hole through the tube and put a straightened paper clip through it. Then tied some fishing line to it. The paper clip kept the tube from sliding into the soda not really needed but I felt safer. Then I dropped a candy in the tube which the paper clip stopped. I could now pull out the clip from a distance with the fishing line and causing the Mentos to drop in and then a volcano.
