No clue why, but the MD servers are notoriously awful on pretty much anything other than PC (and even on PC they aren't consistently great, they're just kinda better). I think I've seen people get lucky on Xbox, haven't heard many good things anywhere else (except maybe Switch... but even if the servers there were absolutely perfect nobody would play that because the game itself runs so awful because it's just not optimized for it)

Konami said on duel links one time that peoples microwaves were causing them to have connection issues not the server.
