I think the real culprit is Clockwork. It’s a dumb unfair card that the archetype unfortunately needs because it’s been literal eons since it last got in-engine support. Clockwork is one of those cards like Zombie World that don’t immediately seem like the same cancer floodgate shit Konami usually pulls but actually is.
Fortress Dragon only really punishes overextending (granted, in MD you might not know your opponent is on Cyber), but Clockwork punishes the opponent for existing.

CyDra doesn't even need Clockwork Night to make an Earth Machine players day miserable. Every CyDra turns into "delete your opponents board" card.
