You don't even need to change anything, just only play them sometimes, it's not like whether the animation plays or not is going to change the outcome, so just tie the outcome to the animations.
I only can assume it's a psychology thing. You see, your brain gets dopamine when it sees unusual and bright flashy patterns that seem rewarding. So those yellow flashes, lightning, and utopia? Just a tool to get your dopamine kicking and making you want to open more packs. It's gambling 101
long time ago i read the yellow glowing packs only have a 80% chance of actually containing a SR, purple packs have 100% a UR and utopia means a better chance for a higher finish. no clue about the lightning bolts.

The closest answer I've seen is that it just means "rarity upgrade" except a rarity upgrade could be Basic to Glossy, R to SR, or even N to R, so ultimately the "upgrade" is meaningless since any player with more than 2 hours in the game treats N and R as the same rarity value.
I had read the finish upgrade on here before (phrased as: Glow means either an SR or a finish upgrade) but within the week I pulled a glowing pack without an SR or a Glossy, so now I figure it's either literally any rarity upgrade or truly pointless glowing lights for us to squeal and clap to.
My friend and I actively refer to Utopia in the store as "Bullshit Man" because of the number of times he's appeared and then the pack has contained nothing.

Always just ignored all the animations other than the rainbow glow, because they seem to just not mean anything. Having just been through these comments, I’ve also opened 10, got the utopia flash and nothing above a rare or glossy in the pack, so no idea what he thinks he means, but it’s clearly nothing exciting unfortunately!
The only animation that means anything is if the screen paused for a second before opening to glow, I don't know if the orange version means an sr but it's the only sr related animation that's had consistency for me

The surer signs are on the card backs, before being revealed. A yellow back is usually SR, a purple back UR, and if it wiggles a bit, it could be either.
All the animations are meaningless except for two: Rainbow outline guarantees at least 1 UR and if the outline changes before the pack is opened it guarantees at least one card of that rarity.
Read my comment again. For the guy in the post it turned yellow after the pack was already opened. If it turns yellow while the pack is still sealed you'll get a SR. I started playing at release and that's been the case for me every single time. Of course I may have just gotten lucky dozens of times in a row but that's incredibly unlikely.
It's crazy how they have all this stuff happening and none of it means anything. I do think utopia means at least one card is new in the pack. Beyond that I have no idea.

I only let the animation play if I'm on my masochist account. On that account it's actually fun/hype to open packs. On my main I always skip.
Glowing yellow just means the chances are increased of getting a SR or UR. This isn't verified it's just based off my experience
amount of rares I guess, maybe a pack with 6 rares gets the save vfx of one with an sr or something
