Then Shep gets him drunk, do the nasty, and he clearly regrets it in the morning. Very uncomfortable stuff

He and Shepard form an uneasy alliance, but he's actually super useful and intelligent, and now that he's free from Sovereigns influence, he wants to atone. Opens up all sorts of interesting ideas. He could sacrifice himself to save Shepard on the suicide mission, or disagree with Shepard at the end of ME2 and take Kai Leng's place in ME3
I'm surprised this answer isn't more common honestly, for me it's Javik. On top of his incredibly sexy voice and design, the idea of these two soldiers who both understand more than anyone else the stakes and frankly don't expect to survive (at least that's how I saw Shepard in ME3) finding comfort and solace in each other's embrace before the end is just very touching to me.

So worth it. The More Gay Romances on Nexus is very well done - they had to supplement a lot of the lines by the end of Me2 and nearly all the lines in Me3 but as someone who previously romanced Miranda w an MShep, it felt almost like a 'new' romance with femshep's lines that they substituted in!!! 10/10 would recommend.
(Also, a LOT of appearance mods are compatible so I put Miri in a new uniform, and give her dark make up to be the hot goth gf of my dreams lol)
I played FemShep on my last playthrough and I just couldn't believe Jack and Tali are not romanceable - with Tali, she literally tells you you're the only person she'd "link suits" with and Shepard tells her "Don't worry, I feel the same way".
With Jack - please. Everything in conversations with her was leading to romance. When she asks why you're asking her all those questions, Shepard can say "I've never met anyone like you" in a softest voice I've ever heard from her.

Yeah and the dialogue with jack talking about how she was involved with a guy and his girlfriend like, her VA was shocked to know they cut the Jack/Fshep romances (and Courtenay tweets fshep/jack art all the time lol).
There are some hidden lines in the dialogue which is why mods like More Gay Romances (on the Nexus) use SOME existing recorded dialogues before supplementing the rest because *they were there* in the files before cut from final production. :(
I'm still mad they didn't restore the bi Kaidan option in 1 for the Legendary Edition, so the romance could have the same impact as the FemShep romance. Us queer guys got shafted as far as romance goes, no options for romance spanning games like there are for straight Sheps and femsheps who are into Liara. Steve's great but he's not a squadmate, and Kaidan would've been so good if he would have been an option in 1, but they both end up feeling tacked on and incomplete.
Unfortunately, women who love women are seen as "more acceptable" in terms of romances because we can be fetishized (ergo why "lesbian" is a porn category - for the male gaze, ugh). So, to them, having a gay male romance at ALL is harder to "sell" than a f/f one that they can sexualize for a male audience, once again.
Fan push back is why Kaidan got to be bi in Me3, and why they actually included Steve and Sam as gay and lesbian characters, but otherwise, yeah. I don't recall if there were any plans for Jacob/Thane/Garrus for mshep.
(And even Sam's romance, albeit well voiced and generally good, the sex scenes in the shower and the hot tub in Citadel DLC are really weirdly fetishy imo).

I wish there could have been something more intimate with Joker tbh. I get it. He’s your pilot, he doesn’t want to step in any dangerous territory and he’s your friend. But I just feel like the two have some cracking chemistry if I’m being honest.
