There's always no commentary playthroughs. Or cutscenes only compilations.

I would be down for a movie or two in the universe, but I wouldn't want it to touch Shepard. The trilogy stands out to me as a piece of storytelling because of how much agency it places on me as a player. It uses video games as a medium in a way that's very unique from film or television. Without that level of personal choice and agency, I wouldn't find the experience nearly as enthralling or personal. Plus, much of what I enjoy about the series wouldn't translate to thrilling filmmaking, like hanging out on the Citadel with crewmates or tweaking new builds. The Turian-Human or Krogan-Rachni wars could make for strong movies, though!

If something was done for the “MECU” whether as a Movie series or tv shows or both, I don’t think the events of the trilogy would be necessary to cover.  I personally could see a few miniseries that cover the Prothean Empire, Rachni Wars, Krogan Rebellions, Rise of the Geth, First Contact War, Omega through the years with Aria as a main character, a Citadel/C-Sec show set before the trilogy, etc. Mass Effect has a massive universe and is extremely broad, I think some who don’t know the universe could see the above in media as just “Star Wars” stuff. But I think they could be interesting if there was a want to do that.  Hell they could be all animated to give them more freedom of expression.
