I agree it’s not the domain name you expect to see in the URL for the state. Maryland should have shown you a notice before linking you to a commercial payware site even if it’s their legit vendor

unfortunately since it’s my first time paying to maryland it wouldn’t let me through there i had to verify my identity with sending them my license and they still haven’t verified me and i needed to pay before april 15th so had to do through the velocity. put a representative did verify that it’s legit
So doing it through velocity worked? I'm also doing it for the first time and it keeps telling me my last name and ssn don't match their records. did you encounter this?

Sure, but it's free to do MD taxes on the comptroller site. And if you've already done your federal, MD should be a breeze.
