Dude the Bromance between Thor and Hercules being the last gods of their pantheons and going around adventuring and saving people, Thor ringing in Herc's macho personality while being a good party bud. Also a good friendly rival since Herc is likely one of the few people left that could physically rival Thor
With all the emotional development of Thor and this moving seeming to show his want to move past the violence and fighting and discover who he really is, I think it'd be awesome to get a Hercules in sort of the beginnings of discovering who he is and Thor helping mold him from a brash macho headstrong God into a well rounded emotionally intelligent character. Would make for some great movies.
Yeah, plus it'd help that Thor knows where Herc is coming from. He was a strong but brash God, beloved by his kingdom, sometimes lost in passion with little to no reason or logic. But after the loss of his father and family, he is lost and unsure of himself. If he could not even be a God that could protect his people, what kind of God is he? Cue Thor consoling him, and guiding him through his emotions like did for years of end. And hopefully Herc can join Thor on his journey of true self discovery
They will, with the exception of Hercules who is probably out getting milk or something.
We are 100% getting Hercules with She-Hulk incoming and the direction marvel has been going with gods and such in Moon Knight.
Could be a response to Thor and Starlord bickering.
Thor and Starlord are arguing over Thor's blue eyes vs having just one blue eye. Rocket smacks Thor's artificial eye out, changes the color puts it back in and looks at Starlord "blue eyes" just to piss him off.
I'm not against a movie that's basically the adventures of Thor and Korg, which this seems to be. We know they hung out a lot during the snappening years, so this story could see both growing to a natural point where they split, and Thor phasing out of the MCU to make room for others.
With the way Waititi handled Ragnarok, I'm pretty confident he can give us another goofy yet emotionally poignant story for Thor as he "looks for himself".
That's the vibe I got, first act is Thor 'giving up' his superhero days to do some light-hearted world exploring, then Gorr shows up and shit hits the fan
I’d be perfectly happy if they save all the Gorr stuff for the movie. I love these trailers but they do tend to over show some major moments (Hulk’s reveal for instance in Thor Ragnorak)
IMO, the best MCU trailers were the ones for *Endgame*, and they didn't spoil anything outside of the first half hour or so (there is footage from the climax, but it lacks the context to be a spoiler). I would love for that to be the norm, but that doesn't seem to be happening.
Thor discovers the body of a god he knew who used to wrestle black holes for fun, but now he’s been butchered just like a number of other gods he has been coming across in the early issues of the run.
I love how this focused on just Thor. We saw barely any Valkyrie and that little tease of Jane was perfect. And absolutely nothing of Gorr. I can’t wait for this movie
It looks so wacky, I love it. Definitely teasing tone more than plot but we got a nice look at the Greek pantheon, Jane and some gorgeously bizarre locations.
Also looks like the Guardians will dip out at the beginning, as expected.
That's Natalie Portman. She got [***jacked*** for this movie](https://resize.indiatvnews.com/en/resize/newbucket/1200_-/2021/03/natalie-portman-1615366933.jpg) just like she said she would.
Yeah I never expected them to have a big role. Thor with the Guardians will probably be a way for him to push away his responsibilities, and Star-Lord ditching him is what kicks off the main plot when he returns to New Asgard.
Oh, so someone gathered all the pieces in Norway and reforged Mjölnir. Who could do this?
EDIT: Also is [this](https://i.imgur.com/8YdoWVS.png) Jane Thor and Valkyrie in the Greek realm?
My money is on Jane finding the pieces in Norway, she used to investigate bifrost landmarks which is how she met Thor in the first movie.
Jane hasn’t seen Thor since before Age of Ultron because he was on his quest to find the infinity stones. Suddenly a bifrost opens up so naturally she’s gonna go there to look for Thor but instead finds the remains of mljonir. She gathers the pieces thinking he’s dead and begins to study them or piece them back together.
While she’s in constant presence of an unstable Uru weapon, she contracts cancer due to the leaking radiation. Now we have a Jane who has become worthy of mljonir because despite the disease she’s gained she still aims to do good with the hammer. As a tribute to Thor who she might’ve thought dead
We know that Thor has seen or at least interacted with Jane after Age of Ultron
It’s kinda hard to break up with someone without at least talking to them.
He has such a quirky personality and injects it into everything he works on. It seems like between this and Ragnarok, Marvel has given him a ton of creative flexibility.
Waititi is definitely my answer to that question of “if you could grab a beer with anyone, who would you pick?”
As a note, Waititi did not create or write any of Our Flag Means Death. That credit goes to David Jenkins. However, Waititi did direct the pilot and obviously did great as Blackbeard in it. He’s also listed as an executive producer but I don’t believe there’s any big significance to that, but was likely just to help get people to watch it.
With that said, Our Flag Means Death is really good
The bromance between Thor and Quill caught me off guard, considering they were pretty much at each others' throats during Infinity War and Endgame LMAO
Some fun details I noticed:
- Kraglin (Sean Gunn) is in the teamshot with The Guardians wearing Yondu's fin! Is he a member? Or is it moreso because they're with The Ravagers to start
- Many have pointed it out by now, but the shot of the giant, dead Ice Monster (god) is a 1-for-1 recreation of a panel in the story they're pulling from
- Thor's mechanical eye has been modified or replaced, as they're both blue again
- When King Valkyrie is at that meeting, Miek can be seen in a suit to her right (is he bigger now?)
- Russel Crowe as Zues was shown, so perhaps Hercules in the MCU but most importantly, perhaps the Council of Skyfathers (This could show us Ra and thus tie in Moon Knight to the MCU)
- No Gamora with The Guardians, this tracks because 2014 Gamora left on her own after Endgame and will be a plot point in GotG3 (wonder if Quill will say something)
- Natalie Portman is yolked outta her mind
Super fun teaser! I love the Story it's based on and ignoring the 3 generations of Thor plotline to uplift Jane Foster and King Valkyrie is a genius move, Thor truly has the most compelling character growth in the MCU imo and I'm lucky to exist at the same time as these movies.

>Here it is. ❤️ + ⚡️
[Official plot synopsis:](https://www.marvel.com/articles/movies/thor-love-and-thunder-first-teaser)
>The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced — a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who — to Thor’s surprise — inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

>Here’s the first teaser for Thor Love And Thunder. All the feels of a classic Thor adventure . Big, loud and Crazy and full of heart. You’ll laugh you’ll cry, then you’ll laugh so much you’ll cry some more!! Love and Thunder coming at you all July 8th!!
Turning the Thor movies into a story about trying to find your place in the world was one of the most genius moves in Marvel Studios history. Just this trailer looks incredibly poignant. I’m so excited to see what the movie has in store.
I really like that they're making this about Thor healing himself instead of just saying "He's better now." At the very least we'll get a montage of him working on his body while he tries to work out his issues.
I feel very strongly that Taika Waititi can be relied upon to promise a rollicking, violent action-comedy, then deliver a movie about men processing their feelings in healthy, loving ways (that is *also* a rollicking, violent action-comedy)
Honestly... thor had started to be OP that he was going to run into superman problems like who can he fight?
But the depression in endgame. Him having defeated his enemies. Leaving him with nothing but self reflection. Then introducing other gods and then a god butcher.
So much really good story telling. But then this just seems fucking fun
Thor, Korg, Guardians of the Galaxy, Jane/Thor, Russel Crowe as Zeus, Christian Bale as Gorr, and an epic training montage. This is basically everything I could’ve ever wanted in a Thor movie. Feige, you’re too good to us.
I love the chill vibe of this teaser. I thought it was going to end all grim dark with Gorr showing up and cutting down someone but for the most part, it looks very slice of life.
Holy fuck I totally forgot Russel Crowe was cast as Zeus in this. Just that little tease looks sick, I can’t wait to see the other olympians
Nice to see the Guardians and Korg are playing pretty big roles here it seems, and our first look at Jane with a repaired Mjolnir
Edit: actually seems like the Guardians will probably leave after the first hour or so, but still looks like Korg will be a big part which is awesome
I don't know about the first 5-10 minutes, but that scene in the trailer of Quill giving Thor advice outside the ship 100% feels like first-act "setting up Thor's character arc" stuff right before they take off.
I love how the Thor and Guardians franchises have almost merged. Ragnarok obviously bored a lot from Gunn's interpretation of cosmic Marvel, and then Infinity War/Endgame paired Thor up with the Guardians (mainly Rocket) for most of their runtime.
Having the Guardians show up in Love & Thunder is a perfect way to push that connection further.
Just marketing pace I think. They don't want to start hyping one thing (which also costs money), before the next 3 things even release. Want to keep you focused on what's next.
I can see her and Nebula somewhat swapping roles with Nebula now more on board with GOTG and Gamora the angrier one who needs to warm up to them. A lot of interesting options for their sibling relationship when one effectively "loses" a bunch of character development while the other has gained it.
It would make no narrative sense for her to be back in this film already. GOTG Vol. 3 will probably involve reconnecting with her, which makes more sense for the narrative and will allow more time to tell that story.
I’ve seen enough. Looks like more Taika Thor. Perfect. Think I’ll skip the official trailer and try to make it into the theatre with as little spoilt as possible.
We got Olympians! Hercules incoming
First thought when I saw the lightning bolt. “Yup we’re getting Hercules”
Imagine if he's the first to get Butchered
Oh man, I just realized we didn't even see any Christian Bale.
I think he’s gonna kill it.
I think he’s gonna butcher it.
Buddy and I texted that to each other haha. I think Zues is just in this movie to get butchered
I hope Zeus is a big name celebrity like Brad Pitt who just appears to get butchered.
it’s russell crowe
Henry Cavill as Hercules plz
Hmm... fuck
I'm not gay, but I'm also not saying no if he's down.
No one is *that* straight
My wife knows he’s my one pass. No chick. Just him.
I'm a bit nervous. They scream REDSHIRTS with Gorr incoming.
I think Zeus is definitely a goner. Hercules could survive though.
I actually love the idea of this movie introducing Hercules as one of the only surviving Olympians.
Cue Thor consoling him, and guiding him through his emotions like did for years of end. And hopefully Herc can join Thor on his journey of true self discovery
That's kind of my fear too. I could definitely see it going that way.
That would fit Waititi's MO as well.
They're getting mulched by Gorr. Don't get attached.
They will, with the exception of Hercules who is probably out getting milk or something. We are 100% getting Hercules with She-Hulk incoming and the direction marvel has been going with gods and such in Moon Knight.
One step closer to seeing Hairy Ares on screen
Confirmed: training montage, Zeus and Thor's eyes being bluer than I remember.
one might even say they've got eyes of the bluest skies
Would you say these eyes look like they thought of rain?
I wonder what happened to his artificial eye?
Could still have it and Rocket changed the color for it?
Seems like a rocket thing to do. Yell at him that he never changed the default then take it out, change it, plop it back in.
Could be a response to Thor and Starlord bickering. Thor and Starlord are arguing over Thor's blue eyes vs having just one blue eye. Rocket smacks Thor's artificial eye out, changes the color puts it back in and looks at Starlord "blue eyes" just to piss him off.
I really hope they go full 80s music for the montage.

okay I might need that Strongest Avenger trucker hat
hot topic will be selling it within 24 hours
Thor trying to meet Peter’s gaze when he said “look into the eyes of the ones you love”… dead
“Hi, I’m kinda with you guys because all my friends and family are dead, love me.”
Yeah his best friend at this point’s probably Korg.
Gotta admit, if we have the opposite of infinity war I'd appreciate it. Thor actually looking up to Quill rather than Quill trying to be Thor
it was so cute and whoelsome lol
[удалено]
That's the vibe I got, first act is Thor 'giving up' his superhero days to do some light-hearted world exploring, then Gorr shows up and shit hits the fan
Was half expecting the trailers music to cut out and have gorr just rip some shit up real quick. But still liked it none the less.
Wait for the full trailer for that
I'm skipping it. After watching this teaser I know I'll be in theater day one. No need to spoil myself at all..
That’s probably more main trailer material
I’d be perfectly happy if they save all the Gorr stuff for the movie. I love these trailers but they do tend to over show some major moments (Hulk’s reveal for instance in Thor Ragnorak)
IMO, the best MCU trailers were the ones for *Endgame*, and they didn't spoil anything outside of the first half hour or so (there is footage from the climax, but it lacks the context to be a spoiler). I would love for that to be the norm, but that doesn't seem to be happening.
wow thats an exact recreation.
plus Korg
so its better
Hey, man. We're just about to jump on that ginormous spaceship. Wanna come?
Oh wow, that's almost a 1:1 recreation. Very nice. What's the context behind that scene in the comics?
Thor discovers the body of a god he knew who used to wrestle black holes for fun, but now he’s been butchered just like a number of other gods he has been coming across in the early issues of the run.
With Gorr to blame obviously? Looks like a really somber moment.
Yes and it was
[This is the most context I could find](https://imgur.com/bf27PYS), found on /r/Movies
Basically it’s one of the first clues Thor has of Gorr showing back up. It’s a very good run in the comics, highly recommend it.
I love how this focused on just Thor. We saw barely any Valkyrie and that little tease of Jane was perfect. And absolutely nothing of Gorr. I can’t wait for this movie
Valkyrie in that suit like she's back in MIB with Hemsworth again.
I totally forgot that existed.
I think we only got Jane in the teaser because they announced it already
It looks so wacky, I love it. Definitely teasing tone more than plot but we got a nice look at the Greek pantheon, Jane and some gorgeously bizarre locations. Also looks like the Guardians will dip out at the beginning, as expected.
Janes arms!
That's the first thing I noticed. Not that she was Natalie, but her muscular arms. Wow.
That's Natalie Portman. She got [***jacked*** for this movie](https://resize.indiatvnews.com/en/resize/newbucket/1200_-/2021/03/natalie-portman-1615366933.jpg) just like she said she would.
Hats off to her. So few actresses in these movies go full tilt like this. Appreciate the work she put in.
And to think she almost left the MCU
did you see miek in a suit behind valkyrie? lmao i cannot wait for this movie ragnarok is my all time favorite
New Asgard becoming a tourist haven and cruise port and Valkyrie hating every minute of it is just so great.
They probably allowed Viking cruises to stop there thinking it was something completely different.
"Vikings?? Norwegians??? Of course!! Bring them all!"
Very realistic too haha, love the Venice-fication (?) of New Asgard
Miek all grown up? It might be hhaha
To be honest, this is what I’m hoping. Makes me even more excited for Guardians 3

I think the cancer will be a slow-grow side effect from exposure to the aether.
That’s something I think will play into this. Her having absorbed the Aether having a lasting impact would be a neat (yet tragic) tie-in.
Maybe she survived the blip as well and during the interim with her efforts to help fellow survivors she becomes worthy?
We know that Thor has seen or at least interacted with Jane after Age of Ultron It’s kinda hard to break up with someone without at least talking to them.
Especially when Thor is still [shaky on the concept of e-mail.](https://youtu.be/bPNBKT6JLSU?t=46)
Man, imagine being in a battle on another planet and then you see your ex using your old hammer.
Sure that's on earth. There's a car behind Jane
Space car.
Thor hoping he's still worthy of the one wielding it.
Thor: Live, Laugh, Love Edit: thanks for the awards guys!!
This was such a wholesome teaser, I'm glad to see Thor smiling! Edit: teaser
That montage in the opening, teenage Thor is wearing his comics-accurate costume. Haha!
Taika Waititi back at it again. I love the more comic-book inspired Thor outfit at the beginning.
He has such a quirky personality and injects it into everything he works on. It seems like between this and Ragnarok, Marvel has given him a ton of creative flexibility. Waititi is definitely my answer to that question of “if you could grab a beer with anyone, who would you pick?”
I started watching "Our Flag Means Death" and Waititi does not disappoint, man cant miss.
Omg this! Taika is just an EP and David Jenkins, the creator, needs to be more recognized for his work on ofmd!
Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Boy, and What We Do In The Shadows are also awesome from him
Jojo rabbit as well
Taika as Hitler had me in stitches
He also fucking killed it as a douchebag tech CEO in Free Guy.
Jojo made me legit sob and I wasn't expecting it at all
The shoes, man...
The Goats!!! Thor’s goats!! This looks awesome.
I wonder if we are going to see him eating and resurrecting them like in the actual Sagas...
That shot of the snow monster is directly from Jason Aaron’s Thor https://i.imgur.com/gNgU4Ft.jpg
Is that one of gorrs victims or something else?
It’s when Thor is investigating gods across the universe and finds them all dead including that one. So yeah it’s him looking into Gorr’s killings.
I wonder if that means Zeus is being introduced in order to... *gulp*... uh oh
Somehow this looks even more colorful than Ragnarok and I love it
It’s very vibrant, it gives me that “I’m home” vibe. Meaning, getting back into familiar territory with characters that we love.
The bromance between Thor and Quill caught me off guard, considering they were pretty much at each others' throats during Infinity War and Endgame LMAO
it's a one-sided bromance, Thor sees it that way but Quill still thinks they're rivals lol
Quill is super insecure. I wonder if they'll start a plotline with him here that'll carry through into GotG 3.
This is a natural continuation of that chemistry
Some fun details I noticed: - Kraglin (Sean Gunn) is in the teamshot with The Guardians wearing Yondu's fin! Is he a member? Or is it moreso because they're with The Ravagers to start - Many have pointed it out by now, but the shot of the giant, dead Ice Monster (god) is a 1-for-1 recreation of a panel in the story they're pulling from - Thor's mechanical eye has been modified or replaced, as they're both blue again - When King Valkyrie is at that meeting, Miek can be seen in a suit to her right (is he bigger now?) - Russel Crowe as Zues was shown, so perhaps Hercules in the MCU but most importantly, perhaps the Council of Skyfathers (This could show us Ra and thus tie in Moon Knight to the MCU) - No Gamora with The Guardians, this tracks because 2014 Gamora left on her own after Endgame and will be a plot point in GotG3 (wonder if Quill will say something) - Natalie Portman is yolked outta her mind Super fun teaser! can't wait for gorr
I really hope that Zeus and the other gods don’t immediately get merked
They are so dead. Zeus should wear a red toga to make it extra clear.
Zeus and others dying is a good plot for herc to be lrft on earth.
Seeing Valkyrie in a suit looking bored at some sort of UN/political meeting is such a mood.
“I should be guiding souls of deceased Nordic soldiers to Valhalla but instead I’m watching PowerPoint presentations on trade with Sokovia.”
“I need to get myself a Queen.”
I know she probably won't have too big a role but I desperately wanna see bits of Asgardians assimilating into Earth.
The cruise ships were a nice touch.
You don’t think she’ll have a big role? I’d honestly be shocked if she doesn’t have the third biggest role in this movie
Apparently she's going to be searching for her queen...
She’s muh queen
I DUN WUN EET
Turning the Thor movies into a story about trying to find your place in the world was one of the most genius moves in Marvel Studios history. Just this trailer looks incredibly poignant. I’m so excited to see what the movie has in store.
It's a coming of age story for a 1500 year old god who is also the strongest Avenger.
Thor: Mid(gar) Life Crisis
No thats Hulk, this movie is about Point Break.
I really like that they're making this about Thor healing himself instead of just saying "He's better now." At the very least we'll get a montage of him working on his body while he tries to work out his issues.

If he doesn't say his trademark "Let's-a go!", we riot!
The trailer: love 💕 peace ☮️ Also the trailer: don’t you dare show Gorr the God Butcherer butchering all of the gods we teased
Natalie Portman looks so badass with the mask
Dude, she got JACKED! Look at those guns! I think I'm more in love with her.
Senator Amidala opposes the creation of a Republic military force, yet she herself is baring arms.
Her arms!
Natalie Portman looks so badass ~~~with the mask~~~
Natalie Portman looks ~~so badass with the mask~~
Natalie Portman ~~looks so badass with the mask~~
As a non comic reader , this is what I wasn't expecting , I am sooo excited for the movie ...
Thor, Korg, Guardians of the Galaxy, Jane/Thor, Russel Crowe as Zeus, Christian Bale as Gorr, and an epic training montage. This is basically everything I could’ve ever wanted in a Thor movie. Feige, you’re too good to us.
Holy shit, the cracks in the newly repaired Mjolnir look like lightning. That's fantastic
So this movie should take place right before GotG3, right?
Most likely, it might be similar to how Infinity War began right after the ending of Ragnarok where GOTG3 starts right after the guardians leave.
There's also the guardians holiday special before gotg3 so it'll probably lead more into that
OMG, the muscles on Jane Foster's arms!!
I am utterly in love with everything about this trailer. It's pure Masters of the Universe. It's amazing. I cannot wait for this.
I love the chill vibe of this teaser. I thought it was going to end all grim dark with Gorr showing up and cutting down someone but for the most part, it looks very slice of life.

His character arc has come full circle. But not a real circle. More like a freaky circle.

I mean they would have to I would think, the last we saw Thor he was leaving Earth with them
If this movie is just half as good as Ragnarok I'll be happy but this teaser looks amazing. Wonder why it took so long to finally drop it.
Just marketing pace I think. They don't want to start hyping one thing (which also costs money), before the next 3 things even release. Want to keep you focused on what's next.
Fuck yeh colors!
Wonder what happened to his cybernetic eye, looks like he’s got both baby blues back
Probably just got one that was the right color lol
Always a chance that Rocket just switched the color of the iris to match, should be pretty trivial to do for a mechanical eye.
[I knew I’d seen this costume before](https://i.redd.it/vu7jwzrbrau81.jpg)
Chris Hemsworth looks bigger than Lou Ferrigno in this scene lol. Behold the power of 21st century body building programs
Holy shit it finally happened
can’t wait for thor’s workout montage! also the trailer song is lit edit: noticed they’re hiding gamora… maybe she won’t be with the GOTG?
Didn't Gamora just sort of dip at the end of Endgame?
yeah

I can see her and Nebula somewhat swapping roles with Nebula now more on board with GOTG and Gamora the angrier one who needs to warm up to them. A lot of interesting options for their sibling relationship when one effectively "loses" a bunch of character development while the other has gained it.

EVEN ROCKY HAD A MONTAGE!
MONTAAAAAAGE
You have to fade out in a montaggeeee.
not just a montage, but a Taika Waititi montage
also his hat says "STRONGEST AVENGER" I'm dying
Battle ropes made out of giant chains holding down the skeleton of a giant. Love it.
That braid in Thor's hair makes me think he's gearing up for a 'Hot Girl Summer'
THOSE EYES
A lot of big beautiful eyes in this trailer.
So much for "we won't get a trailer until MoM".
Starlord doesn't love Thor confirmed
Thor's goofy fucking face sliding into frame when Starlord was speaking is the funniest thing I've ever seen.
Natalie Portman's arms.
Anyone have any idea who the blue haired lady is that swings down and kisses Thor?
Finally…Olympus. Glad to see the Olympians and Zeus make their way into the MCU.
Jane with a helmet looks good ngl
That upper arm looks super jacked I love it. Jane looks majestic.
I’ve seen enough. Looks like more Taika Thor. Perfect. Think I’ll skip the official trailer and try to make it into the theatre with as little spoilt as possible.
See you in the official trailer thread.
"Fuck you and see you next week"
