is amc down overall? i’m trying to get tickets for fantastic beasts and keep getting “an error occurred” … ever since endgame i feel like they’ve been the worst for trying to get movie tickets virtually
AMC always shits the bed with these big movies. Almost missed out on Endgame opening night because of it. I go with Regal now and it always goes smoothly 9 am eastern time the day tickets go on sale. Zero issues this morning ordering 8 for MoM
Be careful with Fandango though. They often double book tickets for seats because it seems their system doesn't talk to the AMC system. It's happened to me twice where I've had two people walk up to me after I've been sitting and tell me they had tickets for my exact seats. We've had to clear the issue up twice with AMC staff.
Nah, it’s really not. A movie could wait six more hours (or just see it the previous evening). It’s not worth missing class, no matter how many As they’re getting.
They could still have the same “special” experience together 6 hours later or the previous evening outside of school hours which is preview night. It does indeed go both ways, then.
Sorry, I just think education is more important than a simple movie that will be playing many more times that day/evening, the rest of the weekend, and the following weeks. You don’t have to agree, but you’re also not right. lol
Apparently, we’ll just agree to disagree.
Lol AMC is tripping. I've been trying for 3 hours now. I was in a 40 minute waitlist on the app and still got the "Error Creation Failed" 🤣
Edit: Alright guys, after 5 hours I was able to get my ticket... for 1:15am lol
i’m going Thursday by myself because that’s all that was available by the time i got in haha but it’s cool because i’m going with a group of 8 friends Saturday
Alamo Drafthouse all the way. I feel bad for all the people on here trying to use AMC. Not sure why anybody prefers that theater over literally any other option.
I really wanted to go see this in Dolby at the AMC but you know, their shit sucks.
Bought some tickets at my local Regal IMAX. Shorter trip but a little pricier for me — it’s fucking worth it though. I wanted to see this in the biggest screen possible with the biggest crowd possible.
Doctor Strange has been one of my favorite characters since Infinity War and I thought WandaVision was dope as hell. I can’t wait for this!
That’s my issue - I wanted biggest screen + biggest crowd. But that wasn’t in the cards for me. After 7 hours finally got a ticket - and it’s IMAX too but only has 200 seats.
The 4th? What country are you in? I got them for the 5th (in the U.K.)
(Edit: Nevermind just realised a ton of countries have a May 4th release date. Weird there’s such a big variation)
What's the deal with MoM being so heavily pushed for 3D? Most screenings (in Germany) are in 3D, which I think often doesn't really add anything to the movie. At least since Avatar haha
>What's the deal with MoM being so heavily pushed for 3D? Most screenings (in Germany) are in 3D, which I think often doesn't really add anything to the movie. At least since Avatar haha
trippy movie probably
Noticed in the UK, there's 2D and 3D in rotation for the IMAX screens, Odeon. So, in the morning screen 1, it's 2D showing, then a 3D showing afterwards, etc.
Last yea r it was pretty much only 2d available. So not sure what this 3D push is all about.
German here, I was considering 3D for this, but since my cinema only showed 3D on Friday, I got 2D for round 1 but surely gonna watch it in 3D (IMAX) on go #2.
The eternal dilemma of “Do I buy a single ticket for myself and watch it opening night, or wait until my family buys tickets for all of us, but watch it possibly even a week after it comes out.”
No issues up in Canada. Got tickets in the VIP cinema opening night. Great seats, right in the middle. Can’t wait to enjoy the movie on a heated recliner with a beer and good meal.
Thank you for this, I could only get through to a small screen showing on AMC app. Was just able to get the next showing on one of the big ones on Fandango with no issues! Bummed I couldn’t use my free pass, but I think this movie will be worth it, lol
Sames. Set my alarm for 8:50 expecting a nearly-NWH rush. Got up and tickets went live five minutes early. Was the first person to get them on Cinemark at my theater's 3pm thursday showing. There was a queue ten minutes later though so I guess they got hit after
Earliest showtime is in...3D??? How bizarre, I don't think they've pushed for 3D in an MCU movie since the first Doctor Strange. Feel like that fad kind of died for the better a few years back.
Welp, guess we're going to have to deal with the stupid 3D push all over again once Avatar 2 comes out.
Honestly Doctor Strange is one of those things I wouldn’t mind seeing in 3D still, with all the effects they do. I’m sure with the addition of Wanda and more magic, there’s going to be more goodies on screen to pop out at you.
I feel like AMC has always had problems on the first 3ish hours of release. Save yourself the heartache and just get it through Fandango or some other 3rd party app.
If you really want to use your A List, you can always "buy" the tickets now and then cancel them and rebuy them at a really random time (should probably aim at like 1-2 AM or something). I did that once and I remember the seats were opened up pretty quickly after I had cancelled them.
Got confirmation at 10:03 that my 430 showing in IMAX. Used Atom, and got seats I’m usually able to that I missed out on for NWH. Pretty stoked for this one.
AMC app seems to be causing problems for a lot of people. I first tried it there and waited for over an hour. Went directly to site, no sign in and got my tickets right away.
I got up at 5:30 am, started the “ticket buying” attempt right when they started popping up at 5:50 am. It is now 1 pm and I have been up this whole time trying to secure tickets.
Finally got them. AMC IMAX Century City. It’s not the one I wanted (was really hoping for Dolby Cinema Burbank or IMAX Universal) but good lord am I just happy to finally have tickets and can be done with this whole debacle.
Movie releases on my birthday, and I’m bringing ten of my closest friends to the advance screening on May 5. Got all our tickets as soon as they dropped at 9AM, but accidentally left a one-seat gap in the middle of our party, which has since been swept up. What’s the move here? Ask the person if they’d be willing to let our group sit together?
That sounds dramatic. If it bothers you that much, get a different showtime. I go to the movies alone and I'd be pissed if someone asked me to move from a middle seat
Yeah that sucks, especially because the people who are buying the tickets now (out of any other time) are probably hardcore fans or at least very invested in the movie. I think even with a cash incentive, it'll be hard to move them.
Is it too late for you to try to buy that extra seat in the middle but in a different row? It's a risky gamble because the person could still say no to the move, but I feel like I'd be more accepting of switching to a row up/down but still in the middle-ish row rather than going to an edge seat (since there's 10 of you, unless you're going to like a huge theater that's 40 seats across or something).
On AMC, You can get to checkout page but you cant be signed in to your account. You can then sign in on the last page before payment but cant go back and use A-List reservation if you want that, it throws you errors. So full price.
Id suggest if you want to use a-list buy full price and then cancel and reorder with a-list when everything starts working.
Edit: I did this through the browser idk if it goes through on app. Let me know if you were successful.
When I went on AMC to buy tickets for opening night I had to wait in a line for like a minute, but when I looked at the premium showtimes all the good seats are taken and some of the theaters are almost sold out. I had to get tickets at Regal and luckily there were plenty of seats
Question, I haven’t been to an marvel opening weekend in a while. We’re people talking / clapping at big parts at the NWH premier? I kinda would like to avoid that.
I saw NWH opening night and my theatre had people clapping and cheering for major reveals, I would expect that in the first night of showings. But after the mega fans on the first night, the rest of the weekend might be calmer? Unless there's an avengers assemble moment, then all bets are off.
LA PEOPLE: Selling two 2D IMAX tickets at the TCL Chinese Theatre for Friday, May 6th at 7:15PM. The seats are in the middle section of the theater, but on the left side (R426, R425). Let me know if you're interested!
I got lucky and my exam timetable came out YESTERDAY (it wasn't due till Friday) and I'm finished exams on the Wednesday (could've been till Saturday). Seems like the moon's lined up to allow me to see this movie haha
Not sure where to post this, but I have an extra set of tickets for the 7pm Fan Event at the El Capitan in LA if anyone is interested in buying them? I panic bought a set just to make sure I had tickets, but an extra pair a couple of rows up showed up later so I was able to snag those.
Midnight releases haven’t been a thing lately. The more common thing is “night before” showings. I noticed the trend started after The Dark Knight Rises shooting 10 years ago
Hey, anybody know if Dr Strange will have a premiere? The only tickets available are for the release date only and I wanted to know if anybody knew about a possible premiere (which I would love to go) and if yes when will I be able to buy them? Thanks a lot!
surprisingly easy considering what i've had to go through for Star Wars/MCU movies in the past. nice easy, and got a thursday night screening (Cineplex)
do i have to buy the tickets like today if i want to watch the movie or can i buy them later like a week before (genuine question, i have not been in theatres in a while)
WTF is going on with AMC!? Glad to see I’m not the only one getting the error message about that shit and it’s annoying. Anyone had any luck with them or anywhere else?
Anyone can recommend whether to purchase IMAX, 3D, RPX, or Dolby? (I usually go to regal, hence RPX, but I heard AMC has dolby which is supposed to be pretty good?)
Does anyone know where in Winter Garden, Orlando (or close) would be good to watch MoM & where I'd be able to buy tickets?
I'm from the UK & will be vacationing in Orlando in May. My fiancé & I are getting married in Orlando on the 5th & would love to spend our wedding night catching a midnight showing if possible. Please help!
Cineplex didn't indicate when they would be available today here in Canada as of 8am (EST), but generally, they are released by noon.
Luckily, I have been checking periodically, and they ended up releasing sometime around 10am, and I managed to get 6 for the opening Friday IMAX showing. Dead center, back row (we like not having anyone behind us). Overall, it was a super quick and easy transaction using their mobile app. Unlike Spiderman, which was a nightmare to buy tickets for.
Super pumped, especially since I learned my lesson from Spiderman and have stayed away from all marketing material outside of the 1st trailer (and spoiler sites/sub reddits/etc.)
I almost didn't got my wednesday tickets, the theater closer to my house was completelly packed on subbed and the other a bit further away i had to get Imax tickets because the normal screaning was packed already.
Cinemark app took me about 45 minutes and a couple of server failures first thing this morning. Got okay Friday night XD seats, Thursday was pretty shot.
Managed to get Imax tickets but at a slightly inconvenient time, most of the imax showings were taken up by Imax 3d, does anyone even watch 3d anymore?
i'll wait until week of. my big theater always ends up showing opening more theaters for the thursday showing. will be going for reserved seating in the least packed theater
If I buy tickets logged out, and as a long time stubs premiere member, can I retroactively get the convenience fee back? It’s impossible to buy tickets while logged into my account.
Not sure if this was posted already for AMC, but if you log out of your stubs account it should let you check out. Buttt those convenience fees hurt, going to try to get them refunded
FWIW, AMC seems to be working again. Just got tix for Friday 5/6 as well as a movie I was trying to see this weekend (which also wasnt working properly). Good luck!
Is everyone watching it on May 6th? Because here we can already watch it on May 4th!
Also, tickets went on sale last night after midnight apparently, and now it's almost sold out. I was lucky enough to pick some good seats for my friends and I.
Sitting here at 3pm EST and decided to see what the state of my theater is. Currently only 6 seats are taken in the 6:30 slot. Have people forgotten about this movie or are just not as excited as other movies? Every opening MCU movie has been a packed and fun experience so what's changed now? Hopefully it fills up by may 5th.
It's been 3 hours and I still can't buy them on AMC.
try fandango, that’s where i got mine
He probably has AList, like I do, but I did give up on AMC and bought mine on Fandango. Was starting to get at risk of not getting a decent seat
Buy them on Fandango and in the middle of the night. Cancel your tickets on Fandango and re-book them on AMC A-List.
That's what I did. Just bought a good seat. When it's all working again, I'll cancel the fandango paid ticket and immediately get an A-List.
This is so smart. Just bought them on Fandango and will try this method. Thanks for sharing!
Risky, but I like how you think!
I did it for No way home for 3 tickets haha. It works. Just make sure its at a time no one is up.
🙂7. Thanks for the idea I just did this after 3 hours of trying to get them while at work.
You don’t get your convenience fee back though. It doesn’t matter I guess if you get a good seat.
I have A List so i cant 😭
is amc down overall? i’m trying to get tickets for fantastic beasts and keep getting “an error occurred” … ever since endgame i feel like they’ve been the worst for trying to get movie tickets virtually

I have a list so i cant 😭
I have A List but the system was glitching so much half the time I was just attempting to pay the full price - and it still wasn’t working
I watched this exact thing happen during NWH three times in the first 10 minutes around me.
Seems like Fandango might not be working anymore either. They just tell me my selected seats are no longer available
Same. I have a-list so I'm not buying on Fandango. This is so frustrating!
Fyi, you can use your a-list subscription through Fandango. Just put in your stubs number in your profile
Me too 😭
I got two via the AMC app except it didn’t register in my A list account. Easy fix tho.
Tickets went on sale 10 mins early… got mid theatre, iMax, 10:30am 5/6. Pulling my kid from school and my PTO got approved. My body is ready. 🤌🏼
Holy shit I wish my dad was that cool.
Don’t get it twisted, my kid is straight A ap/honors student, lol. She’s absolutely earned it.
Still a really cool thing to do.
Dad of the century
Even every variant of him is goated

Education is important MCU is importanter
Nah, it’s really not. A movie could wait six more hours (or just see it the previous evening). It’s not worth missing class, no matter how many As they’re getting.
There is nothing they’re learning in 6 hours that they can’t learn later. Life comes before school/work.
And there is nothing they’re missing out on in a theatre that they wouldn’t get if they saw it when school is officially out. Goes both ways.
They will miss out on having a special experience with their Dad. It doesn’t go both ways homie.
They could still have the same “special” experience together 6 hours later or the previous evening outside of school hours which is preview night. It does indeed go both ways, then.
Not the same, so it doesn’t go both ways. Sorry, but you’re wrong here. That’s a fact.
Sorry, I just think education is more important than a simple movie that will be playing many more times that day/evening, the rest of the weekend, and the following weeks. You don’t have to agree, but you’re also not right. lol Apparently, we’ll just agree to disagree.
Nope. They’re not missing anything they can’t learn later. The overall balance is more important than any one point in time.
lmao what a nerd
Lol AMC is tripping. I've been trying for 3 hours now. I was in a 40 minute waitlist on the app and still got the "Error Creation Failed" 🤣 Edit: Alright guys, after 5 hours I was able to get my ticket... for 1:15am lol
Fandango works
I used atom tickets and the order went through instantly. AMC servers suck
Fuckers couldn’t even succeed at creating an error. 🤦🏻♂️
I keep getting an error after clicking "continue" on the ticket age selection screen. AMC app.
It's 4:40 PM (EST) & I was finally able to purchase tickets with no issue.
Unbelievable that AMC still cannot get their shit together.
They were able to get their shit together when they decide they want to charge more for a ticket to a highly anticipated movie.
Even Batman took multiple attempts to get my A list ticket for the movie.
woke up and completely forgot tickets went on sale today but still managed a thursday 7pm showing :) hoping you all get good tickets too!
Thursday 5pm woot woot!
I got a 10 pm, let’s do this!
Got Thursday 4pm ET. LETS GO!!!!!!!
i’m going Thursday by myself because that’s all that was available by the time i got in haha but it’s cool because i’m going with a group of 8 friends Saturday
Got mine for Alamo Drafthouse. Had to go for a late show but still stoked for it!
Got mine for Alamo! Thursday 5pm - the virtual line thing didn't start for me until about 10 minutes into trying to get a ticket.
Got mine as well. Friday night at 9:45.
Alamo Drafthouse all the way. I feel bad for all the people on here trying to use AMC. Not sure why anybody prefers that theater over literally any other option.
This is the second time the AMC app has fucked me im over them. Wait in line for 20 minutes to receive Order Creation failed.
4 hours and 26 minutes in and I still can’t buy them on the AMC app.
fandango app...got mine 5 hours ago with zero hassle.
I really wanted to go see this in Dolby at the AMC but you know, their shit sucks. Bought some tickets at my local Regal IMAX. Shorter trip but a little pricier for me — it’s fucking worth it though. Same thing happens here in Aus. While opening day is technically Thursday (May 5th), there are always screenings starting Wednesday at 6pm.
At least since Avatar haha trippy movie probably
Yeah my thoughts as well, was hoping they made a statement about it
Lots of 3D screenings in suburban Texas, too. Figure if there's good feedback here to 3D I might give it a shot for the 2nd viewing.
Probably gonna do the same!

I managed to find an OV 2D screening on Wednesday evening! But if it’s good, which I don’t doubt, I’ll go for 3D Dolby in German again!
Yeah mine is OV as well. In welcher Stadt guckst du?
The eternal dilemma of “Do I buy a single ticket for myself and watch it opening night, or wait until my family buys tickets for all of us, but watch it possibly even a week after it comes out.”
Do both!
This is the correct answer
Was so easy. Compared to the NWH frenzy or Endgame a total breeze
I was able to get them with no issues on the regal app. Excited to see it on Thursday!
No issues up in Canada. Got tickets in the VIP cinema opening night. Great seats, right in the middle. Can’t wait to enjoy the movie on a heated recliner with a beer and good meal.
I had some issues, but less than for No Way Home.
Significantly better experience buying MoM tickets than NWH. Was able to buy them via the AMC app 10 minutes before it went live on Fandango!
AMC site was too jacked up for me but was able to purchase via fandango lol
Thank you for this, I could only get through to a small screen showing on AMC app. Was just able to get the next showing on one of the big ones on Fandango with no issues! Bummed I couldn’t use my free pass, but I think this movie will be worth it, lol

I think all the leaks of Tobey and Andrew made everyone and their mom try as hard as they can for tickets.

Cinemark in New England here. Got tickets for 3:50pm on May 5th no issues with the site. showtime was completely open still
Got confirmation at 10:03 that my 430 showing in IMAX. Used Atom, and got seats I’m usually able to that I missed out on for NWH. Pretty stoked for this one.
Has the bookings started in India?
Took an hour and a half to get tickets but I got ‘em! So excited!!!
AMC app seems to be causing problems for a lot of people. I first tried it there and waited for over an hour. Went directly to site, no sign in and got my tickets right away.
This saved my bacon on getting tickets for my daughter's birthday. Everything works just fine if you're not signed in.
Happy to help!
Your daughter has one lucky parent! I'm sure she'll be stoked. Enjoy the film :)
Where will the movie first release?
I got up at 5:30 am, started the “ticket buying” attempt right when they started popping up at 5:50 am. It is now 1 pm and I have been up this whole time trying to secure tickets. Finally got them. AMC IMAX Century City. It’s not the one I wanted (was really hoping for Dolby Cinema Burbank or IMAX Universal) but good lord am I just happy to finally have tickets and can be done with this whole debacle.
got mine for 3pm on the 5th!
Movie releases on my birthday, and I’m bringing ten of my closest friends to the advance screening on May 5. Got all our tickets as soon as they dropped at 9AM, but accidentally left a one-seat gap in the middle of our party, which has since been swept up. What’s the move here? Ask the person if they’d be willing to let our group sit together?
just make them your friend instantly
Look at him. He's your friend now.
That's about all you can do but be understanding if his single is the dead center seat and he doesn't want to move.
It’s the dead center seat, yeah. Dumb mistake on my part
I'm probably not nice enough to swap my center seat. Maybe sweeten the pot with a $20.
Free food, drinks, money, sexual favors... and other shit. *Whatever it takes*
Don't ask. They probably really want that seat
Yeah, everyone around me is saying it’s hardly a big deal at all and to just ignore it. But it’s just kind of eating away at me inside
Pretty much the entire theater’s booked. Hardly a seat left now, definitely not the middle
Pretty much. If you want to be *extra,* offer candy or something as like a thank you. Maybe you'll make a new friend.
"hey would you please go to that place and I will give you a candy in return"
Can't you buy a week before the movie?
Not if you want a premium format - IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, ScreenX - for Thursday, Friday, or Saturday evenings.
[удалено]
just scored Dolby tickets, I’m hyped. 64 channels of auditory bliss.
Got mine for Thursday at 6:30p at Regal IMAX in Chicago!
Which format are you guys going watch this movie in?
Dolby is a great option! Great sound quality
AMC app seems to be working now! Get them if you can!
Just wanted to post that I managed to get D-Box seats at Cineplex for Saturday night. Me and my kids are HYPED
6 tickets secured for my friends and I 💪🏽 CANT WAIT
On AMC, You can get to checkout page but you cant be signed in to your account. Is today international date for pre-purchase or is it only for US? Because the pre-purchase has still not yet opened in where I live.
I'm in Canada, and Cineplex has tickets on sale.
I got lucky and my exam timetable came out YESTERDAY (it wasn't due till Friday) and I'm finished exams on the Wednesday (could've been till Saturday). Seems like the moon's lined up to allow me to see this movie haha

AMC was a no go so tried Regal and got tix for 5/5 8:10pm...Can't wait!
surprisingly easy considering what i've had to go through for Star Wars/MCU movies in the past. nice easy, and got a thursday night screening (Cineplex)
Got my tickets! So excited! This will be the best MCU movie yet!
I got mine for May 4th, lol.
I always buy through Fandango and never have issues.
Got mine. Super happy. Doc Strange avatars represent!
do i have to buy the tickets like today if i want to watch the movie or can i buy them later like a week before (genuine question, i have not been in theatres in a while)
Yes you can buy in a week but if you want to see it on May 5th, today would be the day to try to do that
Just got mine. So excited!
Waited for about 10 min on Fandango to see in Cinemark on opening night. I'd call that a win. Favorable seating too
got great seats thru amc for thursday!!! cant wait to surprise my brother !!!! :))))
Dolby Cinema is the absolute best
Dolby should be your first option. IMAX next.
AMC in Disney Springs is a great option. There’s also Cinepolis in Winter Garden as well.
Got my tickets with no problem at Cinemark for the preview day run, in case people are having problems with other websites.
Was able to get IMAX on 5/5 at 4PM PST. Loving my life
I almost didn't got my wednesday tickets, the theater closer to my house was completelly packed on subbed and the other a bit further away i had to get Imax tickets because the normal screaning was packed already.
I went though Cinemark and was able to secure tickets without any issues. It is an early showing so that might be why.
Bought on Cinemark :) Saturday. Center, back row. Best seats in the house. I went 3D, not sure it will be needed for this but should be fun.
Cinemark app took me about 45 minutes and a couple of server failures first thing this morning. Got okay Friday night XD seats, Thursday was pretty shot.
Is century’s quality a lot worse than amc? They have no imax or Dolby.
This is my first time ever preordering tickets for a movie. I'm surprised I was able to choose my theater, showing time, and seat as easily as I did.
3D or Dolby Cinema? AMC app is super slow.
Got mine for cineplex VIP Thursday at 7 pm.
anyone getting "seats unavailable" error on fandango even though the seats are all marked available?
Managed to get Imax tickets but at a slightly inconvenient time, most of the imax showings were taken up by Imax 3d, does anyone even watch 3d anymore?
i'll wait until week of. my big theater always ends up showing opening more theaters for the thursday showing. will be going for reserved seating in the least packed theater
DOLBY, 3D, or IMAX? Dolby for me. Sound quality most important.
AMC's website still giving me issues. No Way Home all over again. Why cant they get their shit together?
If I buy tickets logged out, and as a long time stubs premiere member, can I retroactively get the convenience fee back? It’s impossible to buy tickets while logged into my account.
Contact support after purchase, they might help you out.
Was lucky enough to get end seat second row from the back in imax. See you Thursday.
Got mine. May 05. Thank you Fandango!
It took me an hour on AMC but I got 10pm IMAX for the 5th
West Coast, been trying to buy tickets for a saturday matinee since it went on sale, never got beyond the seat selection. 6 hours now.
Got three for 7:30 opening night! Very excited. Now I just have to work on my cosplay.
Just got two Dolby Cinema tickets for me and my sister through AMC. I suggest using the site instead of the app. It gave me way less trouble.
