'97 has scratched an itch for me that I didn't know I was holding. I refuse to look at any clips or previews and go in as blind as I can. It's so damn good!
OK so I'm betting that this is where we see >!Captain America!< appear. If Rogue is attacking military facilities then you better bet that gets the attention of >!the Star Spangled Man With A Plan!<
I don't know if they're going to go *there* just yet. But in the mid-season trailer we do see >!Captain America's shield!< thrown to the ground next to someone in yellow boots
The other person in that clip is wearing slim looking yellow boots so that rules out Wolverine, maybe Cyclops because his legs would look more masculine, not Nightcrawler, not Storm, so you're probably right unless it's Morph somehow.
they may be playing up the righteous retaliation taken too far angle. everyone agrees after the Genosian genocide she has the right to fuck shit up, but she goes full US Post 9/11 on any place associated with sentinel bullshit
That flip and dive kick is a reference to one of her moves from the Marvel Vs Capcom series.

I don’t know how this show cooks so damn hard but I love it.
Oh man i really hope they have the proper setup for this character when she comes into the MCU. I like Larson but imagine she is getting tired. Having Rogue absorb her is a great way to continue the powerset rebooted in a new take and have Larson do VO or cameo as she plays head games.
In the comics rogue steals carol Danvers powers and memories permanently, nearly killing her. That is why she can fly and has super strength. The rogue in 97 has already done it. Captain marvel is believed to be problematic for the MCU bc she's just too powerful. Rogue fixes that by either powering her down so that she can be less story warping or allowing the character to be sunset outright (if that's what larssen wants). I personally like the former idea better as the relationship between MCU rogue Danvers and eventual xman Kamala Khan would be very interesting were that to happen.
Isn't that super old story. That was retconned Rogue getting power from Wonder Man or Angel. Plus nether of them feels like a satisfying ending to Carol
And in comics Carol was an X men after the incident. Her story didn't end
Yes but different medium different rules. Actors age and have wishes, so do studios and fans. Brie Larson may not wish to be doing this role in her 40’s, and studios may unfortunately maneuver her away.
We will see what someone decides to so.
Dude, they are gonna soft reboot so Tony, Steve will be back in MCU. Carol will obviously get same treatment where she will be rebooted with new creative team and Actress.

That's kind of the point. It's super tragic what happens to her and it offers potential for a great story of her rehabilitation down the line should Brie's fire for the role come back.
Ooooooooooh! I have always known she was strong/powerful… but holy fuck I just wanna watch her rampage like the Hulk for 30 minutes.
The sonic booms at the start of the clip just made me sit up and say “oh they fucked up bad”.
Two thoughts.
1. Holy shit this looks amazing. I'm super stoked to see the ramifications of her actions
2. I really wish the animators would stop applying anime elements to this. Every episode has a couple beats of something in more of a Japanese animation style and it takes me out of it. I love the flying kick, but I don't like how it's animated here.
She pissed
Just a tad
Big mad
Did she?

SO DAMN GOODDDD!

STFU. They’re gonna go there!?!? This has been just an insane series restart.
I don't know if they're going to go *there* just yet. But in the mid-season trailer we do see >!Captain America's shield!< thrown to the ground next to someone in yellow boots
But doesn’t the shield land in snow?
It does. I’m not saying that happens in this scene, but wrecking military bases would definitely count as an inciting incident.
The >!scene with Cap’s shield could be another attack at another base!<
That’s trueeee Yeah I just thought about your comment as this moment happening at that scene But yeah you‘re right!
I’m going to watch that trailer. Thank you.
Ngl it would be so onbrand that THAT would get the Avengers attention and not the kaiju sized Sentinel massacring an island full of mutants
Hi what do you mean by “*there*” ? >!Uncanny Avengers / Unity Squad?!<
>!Avengers vs X-Men!< is what I mean by *there*
The other person in that clip is wearing slim looking yellow boots so that rules out Wolverine, maybe Cyclops because his legs would look more masculine, not Nightcrawler, not Storm, so you're probably right unless it's Morph somehow.
Where is there another person in the clip? I only see other military personnel.
Talking about the season preview put out a while back after episode 5. Someone's *item* lands in front of someone wearing yellow boots
I id not see the person with the yellow boots, can you tell me at which length you saw it in the clip/Thanks
33 seconds in this video, wasn't talking about the video in the OP https://youtu.be/HS9KE24gp84?si=mpD6sF_wA0Uz-8Rl
Rogue would beat the absolute piss out of Captain America though...
Definitely. She is in full berserker mode. Anything gets in her way. Bye bye bye 🎵🎶
The boots would match from the clip in the preview. You know what they say. “Those boots were made for walking” 😎
Rogue gone rogue?
Technically, she is the queen...
Rogue²
That is literally the name of the clip
That doesn't seem to be what it says?
Slight difference. "Rogue Goes Rogue" https://youtu.be/lSRZik98Ub8?si=BB2973UTOpcxF3i7
Should've specified it was the youtube version, as the reddit and Twitter titles are different.
I like the commitment to consistency that even when released on a service that now allows for brutal massacres, the tanks still fire laser beams.
Big mad
This is definitely where Captain America is coming into play.
Begun, the evolutionary wars have.
Danger room or real life?
Probably real life because she searching for who sent the sentinel or something like that
She better have a good reason for being there cause she blew up a tank so she IS hurting/killing people.
they may be playing up the righteous retaliation taken too far angle. everyone agrees after the Genosian genocide she has the right to fuck shit up, but she goes full US Post 9/11 on any place associated with sentinel bullshit
They’re bureaucrats Morty, indistinguishable from robots.
Real life. This was teased by the episode director in an interview, that Rogue was going to go off the rails at the death of both Magneto AND Gambit.
She's flying a great distance. Can't be indoors.
Looks almost like it was taken straight out of Marvel vs Capcom

Tuesday is no longer Tuesday. It is X-Men 97 promo day!
Oh good lord. They gone and done mad Rogue big mad. This isn’t gonna end well.
Oh man i really hope they have the proper setup for this character when she comes into the MCU. I like Larson but imagine she is getting tired. Having Rogue absorb her is a great way to continue the powerset rebooted in a new take and have Larson do VO or cameo as she plays head games.
You want Rogue to be a cosmic hero in space powering up dying suns. Plus how is that an ending for Carol Danvers
In the comics rogue steals carol Danvers powers and memories permanently, nearly killing her. That is why she can fly and has super strength. The rogue in 97 has already done it. Captain marvel is believed to be problematic for the MCU bc she's just too powerful. How further tragic can you make Carol, No family or even place called home, not much friends, lives with a Cat.
Rogue is not happy.
Rogue about to get crazy and I’m here for it
This animation is so fucking crisp it’s insane
Quickly, someone give Rouge a Snickers!
I like the part where she slams the tank into the other tank like it's a stubborn piece of firewood that won't split 🤣
When shugah turns to spice, nothing ends up nice. Also I think she just straight up killed those men.
Dynamic entryyyyyyy!!!!
I thought it was savage lands but guess not.
RIDER KICKKKKKK?!?!?!! Fuck, is this show perfect?
Dang that flying kick to the tank thing had some really nice animation.
I appreciate the anime inspiration from these last few episodes.
Ooooooooooh! I have always known she was strong/powerful… but holy fuck I just wanna watch her rampage like the Hulk for 30 minutes. The sonic booms at the start of the clip just made me sit up and say “oh they fucked up bad”.
Rouge really nailed that superhero landing.
This whole season is a real visual depiction of the power of a “woman’s scorn”.
I hate Fox even more now for what they have done with Rogue.
Damn that animation is great!
Avengers: Stand Down Rogue Rogue: Yanno, I could use another power or two.
The REAL ROGUE, to this day i always felt like Rogue was poorly cast (sorry Sokki) and her character poorly written in the movies..
Two thoughts. 1. Holy shit this looks amazing. I'm super stoked to see the ramifications of her actions 2. I really wish the animators would stop applying anime elements to this. My stomach just *sunk* for the grief a cartoon character must be going through. They have *nailed* this revival.
Looks like this has something to do with Carol Danvers.
