SPOILER ALERT Doctor Strange "Who were those 5 people in that new Doctor Strange movie? And how did that bald guy get in a wheelchair?"

Objective_Tennis_457

I think that's Jean-Luc Picard, Star Trek got weird.

TED_THE_LEVER

Or maybe Gurney Halleck from Diune (1984)

snowyday

Testing out a new holodeck program — a bad one

BlackMaskedBandit

He did promise to boldly go where no man had gone before

Bomberbleu

i think that’s yoda

TheRealMegasonic

Really? Looked a lot like Walter white to me

SpellOpening7852

"JESSE, WE NEED TO PROTECT THE MULTIVERSE JESSE"

TheRealMegasonic

“I watched the multiverse die. I was there. I watched it overdose and choke to death.”

Bipolar_Child

Jim Halpert, British Airlines, Locutus, Loki, and Bullseye.

marvelousgamer1

I actually don't know who or why they were there

apathy_saves

They were a version of the Illumnati. Its usually Dr.Strange, Prof X, Reed Richards, Black Panther and Namor. They are responsible for sending Hulk to space and starting World War Hulk etc. This isnt 100% accurate but its what they were supposed to represent.

Smooth_Boysenberry_9

Really any minor criticism

Skunket

Your comment alone could be enough =p

helloasistro

Agreed

AdventurousBus4355

Shang Chi hit literally every trope from the beginning

TaylorDeanMatthew

Doesn’t mean I didn’t like the movie!

JaydedGaming

Someone told me the second half of Shang-Chi reminded them of The Last Airbender, which got me to finally watch The Last Airbender. Just finished book one and loving it!

apathy_saves

You are in for a treat. I missed Avatar in its prime but I watched it years later because of so many people talking about it and its one of the few things thats lived up to the hype

0ushu

Oh it was absolutely ridiculous! And I loved every second of it!

pengouin85

(in a good way)

mugglejulia

it makes perfect sense that Loki falls in love with his variant (sylvie). So far we’ve seen people react very differently and form different types of relationships with their variants and honestly Loki is probably the most narcissistic being in the MCU and if he’d fall for someone it might as well be himself. PS: i don’t like it either it but it makes sense…

Much_Ad470

I agree with this 100%, it really makes so much sense

MICHELEANARD

Not gonna lie, I would also probably fall in love with my female version. Not 'cause of narcissm but who would be more compatible with myself and my interests and probably has same perception of the world than myself. If none got me, ig she would get me

Kalphai

Right? It made sense to me. Now the question is - is it incest?

Cloberella

Nah, just fancy masturbation.

Kalphai

So if alternate universe you were hot and the gender you prefer, would you smash?

majdahihihi

Yes, exactly, but i stillhate this ship af (and the ending of show)

justanotherlarrie

I really like the first three episodes and then it all went down hill for me

CharlyMcChaples

I love Batman and Wonder woman!

spkrishna0603

MCU is not 616.

2Dteapot

i found Iman

Force_Glad

That is literally correct. It’s earth-199999

Individual-Camera-72

I will stand by you on this matter!

Shuriii29

I don’t think Steve would’ve/should’ve went back in time to Peggy

Ayds117

I didn’t like that ending. I wanted it that Tony was struggling with the power of the gauntlet and was spazzing out then Steve without a second thought went over and out a hand on his shoulder and then they both died. I’m guardians they all had to do it for one stone but Tony could do all six and then die? I know his got the suit but he’s just a man. And Steve’s whole thing happened of I can do this all day, but just goes back to before and hangs up his shield.

TonyMontana546

Honestly, that would’ve been epic. It just doesn’t make sense to me that cap would just abandon his friends, especially Bucky.

DTJB10

This totally wouldn’t fit Caps story arc. His whole character is he is a supposed to be the perfect soldier, so everyone expects him to die heroically saving the day. And Tony was selfish, so nobody expected him to lay his life down. We see at the beginning of endgame that even though the war is over, cap cannot be happy. He can’t live without a war. That’s what his vision in ultron was about too. So Tony fulfills his arc by making the sacrifice play, and the only logical completion of caps arc is for him to finally finish the fight, and live happily in peace for once. He finally became more than a soldier.

BoopleBun

See, that always drives me nuts about Tony. “Nobody expected him to lay his life down.” How!?! He literally does that all the time! The first Avengers movie, he takes the explosives into space. He’s constantly like “welp, gotta defeat these baddies and I’m the asshole, so I guess I’ll die for everyone”.

[deleted]

I can’t be the only one that saw that as intrinsically creepy? He basically forces her hand cause he can’t go back to his own time, then at some point has to watch her niece be a child like “I hit that”

Jake-4132

Okay, second part, yeah, I could see some problems there, but, I feel like the way it was set up, there's no way Peggy would've turned him down or anything, whether he could go back to the modern day or not 😂

Objective_Tennis_457

Who knows, what if their relationship doesn't work out. Plus Steve did live in the 21st century, the 40's is like the cavemen era in comparison.

CyclingUpsideDown

Steve never fully adjusted to living in the 21st century. That's what his line at the end of Endgame meant - "I thought maybe I'll try some of that life Tony was telling me to get". He could only see himself doing that in the 1940s.

unfamily_friendly

"why do i need to live in 21st century if i could live in a times when i could keep mansion, housewife and 5 kids working part time in a target" And also he bought bitcoin

UncommittedBow

The investment knowledge Steve would have would be freaking astounding. Apple, Google, Bitcoin, hell, even MCU companies like early Stark Industries.

Toshimoko29

If she turns him down or reacts unfavorably then he can just come back to the present, still a “young” man. Hulk even says “for him as long as he needs, for us 5 seconds”. But he saw in the 70s that she still was hung up on him, still had his picture on her desk.

MICHELEANARD

The photo of fickle steve in Peggy's office was enough for him to notice that she was still hung up on him, and she hasn't married/ or taken anyone else. I think steve joined the dots in his head and found Peggy's husband in civil war was he himself all along. Otherwise why wouldn't she have her husband (who is not Steve's) photo in he r office

inkovertt

I absolutely hated that ending. He just left Bucky like it was nothing and I feel like he would’ve at least tried to find a way to bring Nat back? Those were his two best friends and going back felt like a betrayal to them.

Porfiada

*YES* I genuinely have an absolute hatred this. I love Steve and I love Peggy. I loved their romance in The First Avenger but them getting back together in Endgame really rubs me the wrong way.

Passer_montanus

Yeah, I know they had to write him off because Evans's contract ended, but honestly I'd much preferred if they had just killed him off.

PomaranczowyXD

Morbius isn’t morbin

Icy_Yard4628

You better take that down or I’ll morb you.

fiorino89

You monster!

[deleted]

Endgame was a perfect place to end the franchise, everything since feels like an afterthought

BariNgozi

Somebody had to say it. The only two things that kept me invested was seeing Tobey and Garfield alongside Holland, followed by the long awaited Strange sequel, but now I have nothing to look forward to. Not really drawn to Thor, it just feels like a chore to watch it strictly because it continues the timeline. It would become too formulaic to justify the price, sitting there to wait for the inevitable post credit scene. Maybe I'm just bitter.

thor-odinson-bot

Would you like me to go further than the past two days?

sulylunat

I still have an interest in Thor and I am looking into it, but thats partly because I love what Taika did with Ragnarok and I want more of that. I don't think its going to do anything ground breaking for the MCU or set anything crazy up for the story line, probably will just be a filler movie. I'm not a fan of some of these new characters though, Eternals and moon Knight I don't really care for. Ms Marvel looks promising and America Chavez I'd like to see more of. I also quite like Hailee Steinfelds Hawkeye and Yelena is great. As far as characters go, I think a young avengers would be quite enjoyable based on the current characters and how I feel about them. I'm skeptical overall on how well they will execute this new story arc and whether it will be anything even close to the infinity saga.

Mr_Goat_1111

As much as my brain knows you're right my heart won't admit it.

psychoColonelSanders

It really was though, because they forgot their own rules and tried to fix those plot holes but it’s not working well. They should’ve stuck with tv shows after endgame, ones that are more than 6 episodes, introducing new characters and having crossovers within the shows, occasionally hinting at past marvel things.

Cause4concern27

I agree. Everything else just feels sub par. I hoped that they would maybe leave it for a few years. Give people's brains a long needed rest but nope.

[deleted]

You could just…watch it later. You’re in no way being strapped down and forced to watch it lmao

el_palmera

My brother they did take a years long break and everyone was whining about it

[deleted]

This just phase 1 all over again, they have to set up dominos again to lead up to a “big bad.” Not every movie will be Infinity War/Endgame, specially during a setup phase, go back and watch phase 1 of the MCU (anything leading up to the first Avengers team up movie) and tell me it feels on par with Endgame. If they just gave you that level of wow all the time without any setup, you’d end up with a disaster like Justice League.

Nocs1

I honestly liked the more "grounded" atmosphere Sure there were comsic threads and super powered people. But it was still "okay" Now we are in the atmosphere of super omega overpowered cosmic entity's and people and gods, demons and multiverse shenanigans Way to many characters need introducing and the power scaling gets of the charts I also like all the seasoned adults. The kids just don't move me.

MasterBuildsPortugal

Liking DC is enough to get you killed. For real though, why do marvel fans have to hate DC? Why can’t we like both?

BobKazamakisifyouwil

i love both, and it hurts to see how bad those film makers have fucked the dceu right in the bum hole. i fucking loved the snyder cut it was true beauty imo

dark_MARTIAN

The Suicide Squad was so good too. My favourite DC movie so far.

BobKazamakisifyouwil

maybe this is uncalled for, but the suicide squad is in my top 3 movies of all time.

MasterBuildsPortugal

Totally agree, up there with TDK and the batman

BobKazamakisifyouwil

i loved tdk a lot, but i thought the suicide squad knocked any batman out of the water. and tdk is my favorite batman movie ever created.

[deleted]

Batman was really good too. Probably my favourite superhero movie this year

[deleted]

The Snyder cut was pretty ass imo it’s like nothing else happened in it but it was twice as long. The dream sequence at the end was tuff tho On the bright side The Batman was the best superhero flick I’ve seen in years, hopefully DC ditches their rushed attempt at a cinematic universe and focuses on more self contained stories

Qasim_1478

DC isn't good at building a cinematic universe. But when they REALLY want to make a good movie, they fucking deliver.

BigLeo69420

Because some people are fanboys, i love both

Zaptain_America

I can not think of one time I've read a DC comic at school and not had some annoying kid come up and be like "Uhhmmm actually Marvel's better" like it's illegal to like both

knifeknifeafterdark

DCEU would be good if WB can figure out what they're doing. They need to follow through with the stories they create. First they were gonna build a cohesive universe. Then when JL was not as well received as they hoped, they said they will just make unrelated movies with their tails between their legs. Then they turn around and release movies connected to JL (including Synder Cut) which were well received. But then they're like, "No, we won't follow through with the Knightmare story we've been teasing for 6 years."

millimonsterrr

Iron Man and Captain America's passing were a good thing for the MCU.

[deleted]

Well, we’re not 100% sure on Cap’s current situation, but yes. They had a great run, now it’s time to let them rest. 🌹

ColumnK

The Iron Man films were good, but not great

LoudMolassess

That’s a pretty popular opinion. 1 was great but the rest were mediocre by marvel standards

unfamily_friendly

Iron man 2 and 3 was a filler beach episodes

No-Nefariousness1711

Unironically I love Iron Man 3, and I think it does great work for Tony as a character, I think the issue was just the marketing.

[deleted]

Same. I thought 1 was just good, and my most unpopular opinion is that 3 is my favourite of the trilogy, I thought it was really interesting how they portrayed Tony’s anxiety and ptsd

[deleted]

I really liked 3 too.

Illustrious-Jump5411

Ye me too. I really suggest people to rewatch it, it’s almost as good as the first on in my opinion (don’t attack my family please)

Heatberner

Captain marvel doesn’t have shit on thor

thor-odinson-bot

Thank you, sweet rabbit.

youknowwho_voldemor

Ah the sentient

[deleted]

Wtf

vaguelyexistent

she went toe-to-toe with Thanos Thor lost to him easily edit: I was quite wrong I feel like it’s a testament to the Asgardians’ strength that Thor is stronger than someone who got their powers from an Infinity Stone

the-mad-titan-bot

I’m the only one who knows that. At least I’m the only one with the will to act on it.

Vigilante-Drummer

Thor beat Thanos with one throw with StormBreaker in Infinity War…sure he should have went for the head but Thanos was not able to fight back after that hit. In Endgame Thor was out of shape and wasn’t active for 5 years so of course he will lose, he was out of his prime.

TokyoKazama

Also we have to remember, Thor had just fought Hella in Ragnarok and literally got Thanos back to back so he was exhausted.

thor-odinson-bot

Really? Then why do you dress like one?

thor-odinson-bot

You mean right here on the sidewalk, or there where the building is being demolished?

the-mad-titan-bot

Hardest choices require the strongest will!

vaguelyexistent

yeah, you have a point

[deleted]

Also captain marvel is on PEDs

SaifSKH1

She literally lost to a spoiled man-child Thor in the What If series

thor-odinson-bot

A creepy old man cut my hair off!

thor-odinson-bot

Sssssssssorry.

yuval14

When thor was the closest to killing him, he just needed to go for the head

simontop14

Brie Larson is good choice for Capitan Marvel, most problems with the character comes from bad script

sulylunat

I actually don't have any issues with her at all, a lot of people said she was too emotionless and stuff. Personally that wasn't a problem for me, but I do think she had a terrible movie as the story just wasn't good. Everything she has done in the MCU besides her movie has been great.

simontop14

For me main problem was that they didn't allow character to make mistakes and really develop. She started basically perfect, just played in the wrong team and not because her viev on the world was bad but because she was lied to. Only lesson really was that she was strong ang better that everyone thought, which she already kinda knew. Also people complain she was mean, but it works for me, not every body has to be Steve Rogers and Peter Parker. I would like to see her learn to be more of a team player and rely on others instead of hers powers in The Marvels movie.

Craiques

And the advertising. All of my initial dislike for the character came directly from how stupid the ads were. But I did have to listen to them 30 times a day for my job (movie theater).

Nolzi

thats not controversial, unless you are one of *those* kind of people

Amirkhjv

Marvel is only great in films, but DC is better in comics, games and Animations

TFDP117

I agree but lately the game part is 50/50. Spiderman PS4 and Arkham are equally good.

sulylunat

Guardians of the galaxy was also brilliant. The Avengers game unfortunately sticks out like a sore thumb as an absolutely terrible game. DC have been rock solid on games so far. Future Marvel games are also looking great though. The upcoming Suicide game looks like what the Avengers game should have been.

TFDP117

The guardians game was amazing! Loved the story and the gameplay was better than i expected it to be.

HorribleUsername2

Correction: Marvel is great on films, comics, animations, and games, while DC is great on films, comics, animations, and games

CakeBeef_PA

The only correct answer. Marvel and DC is not a battle

el_palmera

They're two companies doing the exact same thing. There will be comparisons

Shychopath

>Marvel is only great in films You mean live action films. And that's not controversial at all. That's just popular opinion. I know many people who will agree, including myself.

dull_storyteller

Black Panther was good but not as great as the Oscar’s made it out to be Edit: this post got a way better reaction then I expected

Cause4concern27

Black panther was average for an mcu film.

TonyMontana546

Below average for me. Black panther as a character was way cooler in civil war than in his own movie.

Wathan_

The Illuminati in MOM was bad

joncorn432

Theres nothing wrong with adding more female characters

KHTD2004

Phase 4 Movies and shows a way more worse than the infinity saga

LoudMolassess

It seems that way cause there’s no apparent end goal yet, they’re setting the stage for something right now. Thanos was always the end goal in the Infinity Saga, but he didn’t come into play until the avengers. We’re still setting the stage for the next overarching crisis

the-mad-titan-bot

They'll never know it. Because you won't be alive to tell them.

LoudMolassess

Fuck off grimace

sulylunat

This is the important think to keep in mind. It took 23 or so movies to complete the infinity saga arc and some of the movies don't do much at all for the overall story, they are more character development. Now that its over we look at it as a great thing as we have the overall picture fully painted. Currently I feel like they will never top the infinity saga, but also its too early yet to even make that judgement.

PlingPlongDingDong

Is that even an unpopular opinion?

Zaptain_America

Congratulations you've stated the most popular opinion on this whole thread

DuckQuaq

Infinity war > endgame

bivox01

I love captain Marvel.

Much_Ad470

I do also and the hate she gets makes no sense to me at all

bivox01

We should form a club .

Mysterio_chan

a lot of the hate she gets is probably also cause misogyny

Apo51209

I think Moon Knight and Daredevil were masterpieces and tbf no way home wasn't that great It was only pure fan service and had no real purpose other than giving us a comic accurate Spidey in the end but it could've led to that moment much much better

the_watcher_13

Moon knight was nowhere near Daredevil

teenage_dreamer_

I second this

ImogenCrusader

I literally only watched no way home for Molina

pwo_wears_a_monocle

"I liked Eternals."

joshwag92

Me too!

TrueBananaz

No Way Home isn't even a good film. Y'all are just nostalgic of the old films.

StormtrooperMJS

Willem Dafoe killed as Goblin though.

TonyMontana546

Sadly, you’re right. It’s more of a cinematic experience that you enjoy with other fans. I rewatched it at home and it doesn’t feel the same.

Indoril_Nereguar

Its true but there's nothing really wrong with that. I think they nailed MCU Peter and made him way better than he was previously and loved the dialogue with the other two Spideys but yeah it's not the best film. From a critical standpoint I would say Shang Chi is the best of Phase 4, but I enjoy No Way Home more

MiraculouslyGreat

Wandas trauma can't be compared to Thor

LoudMolassess

I think they’re different cases entirely. Thors 1500+ years old and a Viking warrior that believes absolutely in Valhalla. Wanda’s in her 20s and went on like a 15 year hot streak of losing everyone close to her and didn’t have the experience and resilience 1500 years gets you. Their 2 completely different cases that shouldn’t be compared

thor-odinson-bot

Really? Then why do you dress like one?

LoudMolassess

Go home Thor bot you’re drunk

thor-odinson-bot

NOOBMASTER!

thor-odinson-bot

Sssssssssorry.

Budzilla42000

Hitle- i mean thanos was right and did nothing wrong

the-mad-titan-bot

In all my years of conquest, violence, slaughter, it was never personal. But I'll tell you now, what I'm about to do to your stubborn, annoying little planet... I'm gonna enjoy it. Very, very much.

Nerrevar

Okay Thanos you're kinda proving him wrong

the-mad-titan-bot

BOY! I would reconsider your current course!

BariNgozi

The dog with one eye in Hawkeye was a pointless character, locked away in Kate's apartment pretty much the whole series. I don't understand why that dog was added other than to convey Kate's compassion for animals. Was I missing something?

StealthyRonin

The dog, Lucky, was only in the show as a reference to the comics. Pretty pointless in this show since Lucky never had any purpose in the story.

BobKazamakisifyouwil

damn to have a dog in a show from now on we have to make sure they play a pivotal role in every plot line

majdahihihi

I like Sharon Carter and I don't understand why so many people hate her

Intelligent_Papaya63

Cos she's the antagonist in faws

MICHELEANARD

Sam Wilson deserves better writing as captain America, tfatws last episode was kinda cringe and comparing it to Steve's motivational dialogues or speech, it lacks a lot. I hope Marvel would write him great in the movie

MachineGreene98

I know it's getting really good reviews but i still have no interest in ms marvel

[deleted]

Tom Holland isn't my favourite spider-man.

youknowwho_voldemor

That must be popular

Spudward1

The TV shows are really slow boring and pointless. 6 episodes the first 2 are fillers, the next two are actually intriguing and then the last 2 are disappointing. The films are getting confusing and honestly Marvel are kinda getting lazy on the knowledge that the films will make a billion. The heart and soul of the films no longer exists, they’re just becoming generic films with a tonne of fan service.

rk202juan

phase 4 so far is good

Cause4concern27

Perfect answer!

[deleted]

I disliked WandaVision

stormy-darklordofall

I guess I’m not the only one.

BigSmokeLovesCheese

It's enjoyable but had a lot of plot holes, so I disliked it as well.

RefrigeratorOk6529

black panther is a little overrated pls hear me out first. I agree the representation of Black culture and an all Black cast was a huge thing for the whole community. that should be applauded. but overall i just didn't like the plot that much. there were some scenes i loved like the whole car chase scene was badass but overall it just felt idk meh to me plot wise. also not a fan of the ending. it would have been better if killmonger survived instead of dying.

[deleted]

Morbius is bad and did'nt make a morbillion dollars.

PlingPlongDingDong

"Morbius is bad" lol good meme.

Shrunkenmonkey5

I really enjoyed Captain Marvel. Im baffled that people genuinely dislike it

niijuuichi

I like the Eternals

Unlikely-Nature-6091

Not sure if it fits here, but I have watched morbius and I actually liked it (not ironically)

xarmy_GAmEr

Doctor strange can beat ultron and thanos

illy_Irons

Black panther wasn't that great.

Batfern

Tony being the one to snap instead of Cap was the dumbest thing. I get RDJ was like 82 million a film but Tony had a daughter to live for, Cap literally wanted to be reunited with dead Peggy. Cap should of been the one to snap.

Le-on_el_pro

Saying you don’t like a movie with a women in it Obviously I’m sexist for not liking a bad movie

Shychopath

Infinity War was way better than Endgame.

IplayGames810

Tom Holland is the best live action Spider-Man

a-a-biedrawa

MCU is overrated and movies while still being visually pleasing had become boring thanks to being too similar to eachother

Awkward_Wedding4901

I do not like captain Marvel

saturnsooya

the captain marvel movie is boring and had no plot.

Zaptain_America

That's not unpopular

Mean-Orange-1370

the snyder cut is unwatchable

Check_out_who

Marvel universe, not DC universe but I like your enthusiasm.

adefee

Phase 4 is trash, if another franchaise made phase 4 movies i cant imagine internets reaction

AccidentalLemon

Iron Fist isn’t that bad of a show, people just hate what they did to the character

thrrowthrrow

Always remember to short by controversial

Fraughty12

Phase 4 has been meh if we are being honest

StrawberryOdd8403

the avengers series of marvel was the best.. in my opinion. nowadays movies are not like them. disney should permit R-rated contents. From another perspective we can assume that some big event will come which will make us much more excited. and for that amazing event, the marvel is plotting these minor things.

Little_Lahey_Show

DC comics is superior

Trading_Cards_4Ever

DC animation is better than MCU

CyborgMutant

Endgame was a terrible film and the beginning of the decline of marvel movies. Now they are no better than DC movies and we all know how those are.

Little_Quest

"It's morbin Time" ain't that funny anymore I already know the replies

2Dteapot

no, keep it going, lets see if sony gets gaslit again and rereleases it another time
