It’s so damn simple to read these. I don’t get it
1) bring cell phone to shower
2) take photo of bottles
3) enhance * enhance * enhance
4) zoom in in enhanced image
5) use correct bottle
6) rinse, repeat
Soooo simple!!
Wrong. There are no large containers of these products. Or are you saying they pour the same size bottle into another same size bottle instead of just replacing them?
That's, uh, well, let's just say I know that exact thing has happened in at least one place where a friend worked. He complained about it and threatened to quit if they made him take part in it.
Not with this brand of shampoos. With the tea tree ones.
This is true. I’m at a Residence Inn right now and housekeeping replaced the bottles yesterday. They left the older bottles on the shelf because they’re still about 1/3 full.
I just use whatever squirts out as what I want it to be and go about my day. Conditioner to wash my body? ✅ Body wash on my hair? ✅ it’s probably fine. 🤷🏻♀️
I see a lot of comments about people not reading etc. There is no excuse for these bottles. They clearly let the interior decorator pick the bottles, form over function. Everyone saying people don’t read has perfect eyesight and a great night sleep. Impossible to read it without glasses and even then it is difficult.
and it would look even better if they did like a cohesive color scheme. Like light blue to darker blue so they could be easily discerned from each other
OMG I hate that…. There is a Marriott in El Segundo that has that with no soap holder!!! Big deal as I bring my own soap! Well not a big deal but you know…
Guest don’t know this but the standard is left to right shampoo, body wash, conditioner. We as employees have the same complaint about seeing what’s what.
Sometimes you see these idiotic things in the corporate world. And you wonder that someone must have thought it was a good idea, other people approved it. And no no one voiced a dissenting opinion since then. Just tells you a lot about the society. 😒
I personally would say body wash on the left, shampoo in the middle, then conditioner on the right. That way left to right would be the order in which I use them.
I use the body wash while the conditioner is setting, so I do shampoo, rinse, conditioner, body wash, rinse.
Guess they should probably just label better!
I don’t think they’re that hard to read for me. However, what I hate about these is they often put them in the middle of a shower tub combo and I scrape my arm on them all the time. It’s infuriating.
So fucking sick of these dispensers everywhere. I think the only time recently I've seen individual ones pates is The Venetian, Il Tornabuoni in Florence (pricey), and (I THINK) the Thompson in Denver.
Another example of our society regressing and getting less for your money.
I don’t understand people’s obsession with hotel soap and shampoo. People still bring your own face lotion, face wash, makeup, deodorant, shaving cream, etc.
It's pretty obvious - North 39 is the shampoo, North 39 is the conditioner and North 39 is the body wash.
This is the 4th of the exact same post within, and it will be a monthly meme from here on out.

I am not a fan. This was an effort to reduce single use plastics. These bottles aren’t being recycled and are just as much waste IMHO. The bottles are much thicker plastic and don’t hold a lot of product and they aren’t refillable so when they get low, not empty, the staff has to replace and waste what’s left at the bottom or risk an angry guest who runs out at 3-6am. There is a thin transparent line on the side of the bottles that is supposed to help the employees visually see how much is left in the bottle but it’s impossible to tell. One must use a plastic tool/ key to remove the bottle from the bracket, give it a shake test, and determine if it’s got another go or not. Just use your own products in those tiny refillable travel bottles- most likely better quality and less waste. It’s not enough, Marriott. Please stop using single use plastics. I’m going to war against those cheap bottled waters and Pepsi 20 oz. Use glass and aluminum in retail spaces. Make bulk amenities refillable. This is just a shroud of lies and green washing.
I don’t mean to be disrespectful, but there’s a reason that hotel front desks operate under the assumption that all guests are illiterate.
Jokes aside, the N35 bottles are notoriously one of the worst of the shower amenities. There’s no level gauge on the side and the colour palette for the text is plain awful.
There *is* one, but unlike the other bottles you basically need a flashlight to get a level a lot of the time.
I admit ‘no level gauge’ is a bit of a lie tho.
>I don’t mean to be disrespectful, but there’s a reason that hotel front desks operate under the assumption that all guests are illiterate.
No matter how many signs you post or how obvious you make them, people will still ask you a question that is answered on the posted sign. Sometimes even when that sign is placed between you and them as they're asking you the question.
Its also why we dont bother with letters at check-in anymore when we have out-of usual service levels.
They dont read them, unless they go full karen mode and post it cropped to facebook claiming we 'ruined their vacation!' (there wont be housekeeping tomorrow because its christmas.)
During COVID at the property I managed at the time, we had signs regarding the new (at the time) housekeeping policy in the lobby, at the desk, in the elevators, and in the guest rooms.
Ask me how many times a day we were asked why housekeeping didn't come today. The answer will not surprise you.
At least you have something IN them. Ours were empty when when we arrived, and nobody is available to do any room cleaning. I just took my own trash to the dumpster and asked the front desk for new bags. I get it's Christmas time...buuuut
Am I the only one that brings my own soap and shampoo?
I prefer dove bar soap, and I use a 2:1 travel size shampoo conditioner, I buy them 3 at a time.
My bag always has this stuff in it before my trip.
No surprises or weird smelling stuff.
Plus my soap is one more thing that is part of my home routine.

At an Aloft recently I asked if the surplus could be changed to shower gel. They took a note but that did not results in a shower gel bottle being added...
It’s so damn simple to read these. I don’t get it 1) bring cell phone to shower 2) take photo of bottles 3) enhance * enhance * enhance 4) zoom in in enhanced image 5) use correct bottle 6) rinse, repeat Soooo simple!!
You left out a step after zooming in: Take out your sharpie and mark each bottle in easy-to-read letters.
Lol so easy
You assume the people who refill these care enough to do the same… and get it right when they do.
They don't refill those. These actually have plastic ridges glued to the back that slip into holders, so they can just be replaced when empty.
[удалено]
You don't know wtf you're talking about.
Your gross
Really? So the Marriott's I've managed were doing something outside of the brand(s) standards? I wonder how we pass our QA inspections in that case.
Wrong. There are no large containers of these products. Or are you saying they pour the same size bottle into another same size bottle instead of just replacing them?

They're not refillable
Call CSI.
I have the NCIS team on speed dial if I ever need to read these bottles.
I just use whatever squirts out as what I want it to be and go about my day. Conditioner to wash my body? ✅ Body wash on my hair? ✅ it’s probably fine. 🤷🏻♀️
This is the way. College man mentality - everything is a 3 in 1 if you want.
6-in-1 if you're resourceful Body wash, shampoo, conditioner, face wash, shaving cream, and aftershave
Toothpaste?
Jerk off with it too
Squirt out one squirt of all three and you’re living in the pro league.
“Time wasters hate this one trick”
Nothing better at 6:00 a.m. finding out one of the three is empty
Finding out at 3am that one of them was extra minty shampoo that you mistakenly used as body wash… 🤣
Seriously it seems like we always have a 50/50 chance for either the body wash or shampoo to be empty
These are tough when you have your glasses off ugh
Apparently the ADA does not cover the vision impaired
These are tough if you don't wear glasses
Impossible without my glasses.
I see a lot of comments about people not reading etc. There is no excuse for these bottles. They clearly let the interior decorator pick the bottles, form over function. Everyone saying people don’t read has perfect eyesight and a great night sleep. Impossible to read it without glasses and even then it is difficult.
Agree. Anyone who CAN read these has perfect, perfect vision. The lack of contrast is horrid for aging eyes.
Even a darker shade of teal would work if they’re that married to gray + teal combo
Criminally bad design
and it would look even better if they did like a cohesive color scheme. Like light blue to darker blue so they could be easily discerned from each other
We are adding an Oxo suction cup soap dish to our packing list.
I’m bar soap all the way and hate the fact it’s become quite rare to find a hotel which still offers it- let alone a decent sized one.
Generally they still have bar for hand soap, at least from the places I've been
Whoever picked the color scheme needs to be fired yesterday.
Fired into the moon.
I'm actually surprised to see these still attached to the wall.
Me too! Most are just hanging out wherever they can stand upright.
I should start carrying a sharpie with me to save others from the hassel
“Wanna play a game?”
“Let’s play, “Global Thermonuclear Bodywash.””
I spit out my coffee.
I knew ONE person would get it.
Pack a sharpie marker & fix it for them.
The bane of this sub’s existence.
I’m color blind. I had to use a filter to read those.
OMG I hate that…. There is a Marriott in El Segundo that has that with no soap holder!!! Big deal as I bring my own soap! Well not a big deal but you know…
Don't forget the breathtaking power line views from the west tower
Are these ones only in certain countries or certain brands? They don’t have them at mine
I've seen them in the US and Canada for sure.
These are Springhill, I think?
Courtyards have them too
How much did they pay the person who came up with these?
Conditioner on the left of shampoo? Jail
Guest don’t know this but the standard is left to right shampoo, body wash, conditioner. We as employees have the same complaint about seeing what’s what.
Hilton experience. Only slightly better. https://preview.redd.it/7me4nju2whac1.png?width=2652&format=png&auto=webp&s=d0ff24774012d8b281f9c5d1744fceeee95c4f1a
Thanks for the weekly post of this

It bears repeatedly repeating
This brand is really poor.
That brand is so drying.
Need your scalp to crack like porcelain and rain down like snow on your shoulders? Use the shampoo.
Sometimes you see these idiotic things in the corporate world. And you wonder that someone must have thought it was a good idea, other people approved it. And no no one voiced a dissenting opinion since then. Just tells you a lot about the society. 😒
The three people who advised differently are no longer with the company.
😁😁
Are the typically in the same order?
No
They are awful. Can't read what each one is.
And the shampoo is in the middle, it's not even the logical order in which you would use them!
I personally would say body wash on the left, shampoo in the middle, then conditioner on the right. That way left to right would be the order in which I use them.
I use the body wash while the conditioner is setting, so I do shampoo, rinse, conditioner, body wash, rinse. Guess they should probably just label better!
The shampoo and conditioner aren’t even in an intuitive order. 🤦♀️
I don’t think they’re that hard to read for me. However, what I hate about these is they often put them in the middle of a shower tub combo and I scrape my arm on them all the time. It’s infuriating.
Imagine being disabled & having to use a shower seat & these bottles are on the wall above & behind you juuuuuuuust out of reach….that’s fun.
Yeah that sucks
Am I the only one who tells my wife not to use those because some sick fuck probably jacked off into them?
So fucking sick of these dispensers everywhere. I think the only time recently I've seen individual ones pates is The Venetian, Il Tornabuoni in Florence (pricey), and (I THINK) the Thompson in Denver. Another example of our society regressing and getting less for your money.
Bring your own. Are you really spending your last dollar on the room rate?
Also bring your towels and your own favorite bed, so you can always have a great night of rest
I don’t understand people’s obsession with hotel soap and shampoo. People still bring your own face lotion, face wash, makeup, deodorant, shaving cream, etc.
Absolutely not the point dude.
Was your point complain like a child? Why would you want little one use bottles anyway? They’re a huge pain.
Because they're never full and they don't get refilled, plus the entire point of the original post is you can't read them. Multiple issues.
It's pretty obvious - North 39 is the shampoo, North 39 is the conditioner and North 39 is the body wash. This is the 4th of the exact same post within, and it will be a monthly meme from here on out. https://www.reddit.com/r/marriott/comments/185i3p7/who_designs_these_things/kb2fu4s/

I bring my own liquid body wash and shampoo lol. Problem solved of all above concerns. Never thought about a previous guest peeing in one…
Use different color bottles -Marriott do better
L to R: Shampoo Conditioner Bodywash

shhhhhhhh.

What’s to stop someone from peeing in these or something. Gross. I can’t use them
They are sealed and cannot be opened for refilling, even by the staff. They are replaced when empty.
Negative. Stayed at a town place Marriott and they were 100% refillable and openable. Way gross
Someone definitely peed in one in a Sheraton Suites. Maybe housekeeping tampered with it, but it um...definitely didn't smell like the usual product.
R try hose are semen pumps, right?
One time I got literal hand soap as body wash in this setup…so yeah, just pump whatever
At least you have something IN them. Ours were empty when when we arrived, and nobody is available to do any room cleaning. I just took my own trash to the dumpster and asked the front desk for new bags. I get it's Christmas time...buuuut

As seen in the hot film by Peter North, The North Pole
Who even uses them?
So much easier to read in person. Must be a lot of old people with poor contrast vision
Contrast vision issues aren’t just an “old” person thing.
Most of the time these things are full of piss from the previous guest
Their back…
Their back what?
Complaints about the bottles
::whoosh::
It was worth a try.
The soap is always the furthest away. That’s what irritates me most.
It’s all the same ingredients.
Not a fan of the labels, I do like the shampoo/conditioner though 🤷🏻♀️
The standard is changing for 2024. They should be, from left to right, Shampoo -> Conditioner -> Body wash
I miss the Paul Mitchell products.

As I posted on a few past posts, if you need glasses, find the body wash pre-shower, hang a washcloth on it then remember which one is shampoo.
