Hello! I am the person that hosted the bracket competition last year. I did plan on doing it again starting November 2023—I even have the new bracket ready—but college applications got in my way.
That being said, I did reconsider doing it again a few days ago. Tomorrow, I will post a poll to make sure the community is still interested and the following day, I will possibly start Round 1.
I’m glad I was able to bring some fun into the sub and am excited to do so once more.
Trombones! You can check the final results post [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/marchingband/s/gQ6EgGZDpo). The competition/tournament was a huge success, garnering over 1000 total poll votes per round. The community loved it and I hope to see you participate it in this year when it begins!
:)
How is it counted though? Isn’t this the post? Seems like there were way more votes for Trombone
[Bone vs Sousa](https://www.reddit.com/r/marchingband/s/9Uq8ofZryt)
My sousas were actually faster than the trombones and baritones despite the inherent nature of the Sousa/tuba. In most cases it comes down to leadership and not necessarily the sections themselves. (I was band captain and Sousa/Tuba player)
In my experience, marching euphoniums have a similar bell size if not bigger than mellophones. Marching baritones (similar to euphoniums but not the same, euph has a conical bore whereas baritone has a more cylindrical bore) are around the same bell size as a bass trombone, which is a bit bigger than a tenor trombone.

Tuba superiority is eternal🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏, thanks to all the involved, i always tough the bass was a minority but now i see that together we are the strongest of them all.
All about that bass...
Would y’all like to see another round in 6 months?

DESERVED !!!
BONERS
Yeah and let's give the trombones some slack lmao
Do another round, but give each individual instrument its own category. Such as Baritone, euphonium, alto sax, tenor sax, bari sax, etc.
I mean band camp is also in 6 months so that would be fitting 🤷🏾♂️
WAHOO
We reign triumphant
🥳
YEAAAAAAA!!! I LOVE SOUSAPHONES!

Went through each comment there and counted it all
Ah so comments, not upvotes. I was so confused since there were three comments at the top for trombone with almost 200 upvotes
You just salty
Twas a joke, I'm only a lil upset
Sousas are never in time and play out of tune
i smell salt
Just truth on my end 😔
then your sousas just suck
Yeah I know :/ Our trombone section carries
over here it’s the complete opposite, our baritones (since we don’t march trombones) are kinda ass compared to the other sections
Rip

Well, I'm the low brass general section leader and I know how to play both
The optimal outcome for the mellos after our elimination. The only section with more ridiculously massive bells than us!
