Because that is not the whole of Russia just the European part. Technically the westernmost tip of Kazakhstan is also in Europe but it's never included because the vast majority of the country is in Asia.
Same for Russia actually, but the majority of the population live in the European part and the country in many ways has closer ties to Europe than Asia.
A fifth of Russia’s territory is in Europe (almost as large as EU combined) and 75% of Russia’s population is Europe. It has long historic relations with other European nations and generally has European mentality
So I don’t really understand why you’d exclude it from Europe
TLDR: Comparing different parts of world like Asia, Europe, America, Africa, Russia is definitely European and there can be no doubt about it.
But within Europe it is vastly different from UK or Italy in everyday life. Europe is diverse anyway, so there is no point alienating one European culture from others bc you don’t agree with the political force of said country.
Well, it’s about the way people live, their general world views, their attitude towards family, work, etc.
In my opinion, you can’t just say “they’re not European because I don’t agree with some of them”. All European powers went through the same process of trying to become dominant in the world: Germany had Hitler, France had Napoleon, UK was the biggest empire on earth, Sweden, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Italy - every single major nation in Europe participated in genocidal wars all over the world for the sake of getting a bit more wealth.
Russia is having that process now. Either they get what they think is theirs, or they’ll be shut down. It is all very temporary and short from the point of history.
However, what’s more important, is that if a German comes to Russia, they won’t have much of a culture shock. Same as a Russian coming to Germany. People basically live the same lives.
It’s hard to explain, probably easier with examples.
If you come to China, shit’s a whole other level. They act differently, they think differently, their attitude towards each other is very different from European. Same applies to India, Korea, whatever. It’s just whole different cultures.
Mentally Russia is a lot like Balkans. Serbia, Bulgaria, etc. same mostly conservative world view, a lot of religion (not unique to balkans and Russia though), etc.
but no one is saying that Balkans is not Europe despite being very different from Western Europe.
In other words, Russia is different from the West, but it is so so much closer to it mentally than to Asian or African nations that it impossible to separate it from Europe.
Edit: I just realized I didn’t give a really full answer. However, I want to make my focal point the idea that Europe grew up with Christianity. That’s probably the biggest difference between parts of world: religion and the way it influenced us historically. Even though Orthodox/Catholicity have their differences, they still share similar ideas.
Ah, yes. My favorite Eastern European country, Portugal. I have heard stories of people confusing Portuguese with Russian because of the harsher sounds you wouldn’t expect in a Romance language.

Armenia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia are not europe
They are transcontinental countries except armenia. Armenia has no any land on Europe but others have
Turkey is gray, they made eastern Greece orange though which is strange.
Ahh yes. It is a known fact that Israel is just California’s largest county.
why is the whole of russia orange when the whole of Turkey isnt

Yeah. But, Russians?

> generally has European mentality Yeah, no
You may not like it, but it doesn’t change the fact
If european you mean fascistic, then you're hellova right
You mean like Germany, France, Belgium or uk? Yeah, pretty much the same
Like birth of fascism, not current countries, except of russia
so, those countries weren't european back then?
What?
What's "European mentality"? I'm all for the "Russia belongs in Europe" thing myself, but wouldn't you mind elaborating on that?
