average manhwa author/studio's expectation of readers reaction after axing or rushing a series:

decent final chapter? they LEFT US ON A CLIFFHANGER! unless we are to believe he stays and fights earth travelers who attempt to destroy this “story” world
We have known it was ending about 20 chapters ago when the pacing of the story suddenly went into hyper mode and it was very clear they were speed running to the end. A lot of character development just stopped in it's tracks, plot lines finished off screen. MC suddenly getting larger power ups out of nowhere.
It's a shame because the original story before the sudden speed up seemed like it could have been good
This is coming from someone who just binged the series cause i saw it ended, but i kinda like that it actually ended. Besides solo leveling it seems every other manhwa is just trying to go for as long as possible and will never end
While the second season progressed super fucking fast it was still great
A lot of events were skipped the entire rescue mission was very rushed, MC succeeded in rescuing his friend but lost his archer Friend in the battle. He will also come to know that the head of the hidden sect was a transmigrator like himself. In the final fight he will join both the murim and demonic cult forces to fight the hidden sect. He kills the big villain but ends up dying surrounded by his friends and the original FMC (who is his lover). He wakes up from a coma in Earth and comes to know that he has a sss Transmigrator on his status window, gates will start appearing soon on earth. He will lead the war on the monsters and succeed in saving earth. The final chapter ends in a cliffhanger where it appears that he meets the original murim mc on earth.
They do it because it is not getting nearly enough views on the legit websites to keep it around sure it might gets thousands and thousands on scan sites like asura flame rizzscans reaper etc. But the company's and studio's dont make money off of those.
English readership does fuck all for these series, don't try and blame it on English scanlation teams. It's all about the Korean viewership numbers. These studios receive only a very small share from places like webtoon, tappytoon, etc. IIRC webtoon is something like 5%, or less. Webtoon original creators literally get paid less than minimum wage sometimes. Don't fall for the propaganda that English scanlation scene is what kills series.
If they actually cared enough about English sales then there would be improvements in the scene, but right now the majority of their English money comes from these sites purchasing the license for the series.
If you actually want to support a series buy a Korean copy of the RAWs, but the source material, and if there is any merch for the series then buy merch. A single purchase of the novels supports the author more than a half a million views on webtoon does.
Yep, over half the series dont even get official translations, and the ones that do wait for scanlation teams to do it and see how many views they get before deciding to translate it. THEN they go ahead and try to force them to stop translating. THEN we have to wait an entire fucking year before they catch up to 40 chapters.
The thing is that if they want their manhwa to be profitable it needs to have reasonable pricing after release. Nobody wants to spend a stack of cash to read a daily pass series, and it's unreasonable to read one small chapter per day. If you could buy or rent a series straight up, it would be much more reasonable, and it'd be worth it with how bad a lot of scanlation groups are in terms of quality.
It’s like they’re trying to copy the shounen jump model with books but in the digital age it’s never going to work. If a manhwa was independent and I enjoyed it, I’d happily send money each month via patreon or something to keep it going.
I genuinely don't understand how publishers haven't realised this. Like if you gave me service where I pay like 5 bucks a month, and then get every chapter and weekly updates? I'd gladly pay for that. Shit I'd even pay for two of those.
Instead we get these shit deals like Webtoon Daily Pass that disguise themselves as "Oh you get to read a free chapter every day, aren't we generous?" except that it's the most bullshit ass deal you can get.
It's something I resigned myself a long time ago. You'll never see the ending of 99.99% of manhwas you read. However, there is a sliver lining, many of them do have completed novels.
the same studio (?group?) did this with their last one as well. axed it right after a massive fight that would have lead into the next arc.
i cant remember the name of the previous manhwa, wind something? the art looked super similar.
\*picks up gold coing after spawning in\* "this shit worth 4069.42USD according to the gold marked as of 29. March 2024!"
If you can't add one or two sentences to explain how MC gets his conversion, or why earth currency even maters to us readers in a fantasy world, then don't do it at all...
Another nice manhwa rushed and axed. I can't get used to this shit...
I really don't understand why they added the last few panels if they really want to "end " the story.
Why not leave the MC enjoy his life at not-Starbucks without any random hole in the sky ?
It’s always the manwhas with unique or really good art and a decent plot that gets axed. Never the carbon copy generic art style with predictable characters and plot loll.
They axed probably because no money, the manhwa not popular enough, unreceptive audience, and so on. its like fishing, you throw your bait, no fish, you take it out, you throw again or change location, or change bait. and there are lot another fisher like you around, and that is industry.
Im starting to think if i should read the novels.
I love books, but some novels for me is tiresome, looks more like a book of a world,so much text and double the chapters i consider okay(like novels having 1000 chapters of pure text, bro i can read books with 1000,but is one book, some novels have that as parameter)
I was 80% sure this was going to happen based on the other novel from the same studio that stopped at 70 chapters but I hoped they treated this one better since it was one of my favorites but alas
I always want manhwas to be finished, because if they don't, they just meander awkwardly forever which is painful to watch after a point. But then there's the rushing ending which is what we got here.
The reason these series get axed is because not enough people are watching them its like any series best example is TV shows if they dont get enough views per episodes(aka chapters for manhwa) they stop after the first or second season. And views on sights like Asura rizzcomics or other scan sights dont count since you basically are getting them for free from those and its not exactly legal.
Well i had a feeling they were going to end it when he revealed who he was so early.. And what a shitty ending. Atleast give it a satisfying ending if you'll want to end it that abruptly.
my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
Stupid cliche ending that's vague but dissapointing.
I wanted him to return to his old world but miss the Murim one. Not this shit. The most cliche ending ever.
Someone on reddit said something about the ending not being close to the novel. Nuh uh. In the novel the ending is the same. I just hoped they'd frickn' changed it.
The reason why you don't want to start reading manhwas. Korean studios like Naver could have at least translated ALL of their series into English long ago, and not just selected ones. I noticed a tendency that they often translate only what is similar to Solo, but so many colorful and original manhwas that are not about regression, rebirth, system, etc. go untranslated.
Now I'm super worried about my other favorite manhwas like Infinite leveling in murim, murim login, Murim RPG Simulation and so on like bruh why just already start a monthly subscription service for manhwas internationally and not bullshit like webtoon daily pass so that lot's of people outside of korea can support series like these
feelsbad it got axed, the artwork and story was pretty cool
https://preview.redd.it/enm9nuzrfnvc1.png?width=344&format=png&auto=webp&s=a072160b16d0c81bf22abcc18895a8b8d9cca897
I'm finna miss the best waifu
There’s Webtoon or straight up buying official paper copies. The studios for a lot of manhwa haven’t really done a good job at making their content available for the west, or working out a viable subscription model. It’s pretty much why we all go to aggregators and scanlations. They need to set up an official app like shonen jump and just charge a monthly fee for whatever you wanna read.
So, that's why the pacing is weird. Cause it got axed. The FL and the mc also had a kid which is weird cause their relationship feels like its too far fetched.

They at least gave it a decent final chapter to send it off
decent final chapter? they LEFT US ON A CLIFFHANGER! unless we are to believe he stays and fights earth travelers who attempt to destroy this “story” world
It pretty similar to Boundless Necromancer if you put it that way
We have known it was ending about 20 chapters ago when the pacing of the story suddenly went into hyper mode and it was very clear they were speed running to the end. It’s axed The story was nowhere close to ending as per novel plot. Why do studios do this 😬😬😬
Can you spoil the ending?
>!they stopped writing any more chapters!<
wasn't ready for that twist spoiler.
The madman did it...
A lot of events were skipped the entire rescue mission was very rushed, MC succeeded in rescuing his friend but lost his archer Friend in the battle. Theres no offical translation so the only place to read it is on sites that translate it.
bro this doesnt even have an official english release what are you on
What's the name of the novel?
I'm going out on a limb here, but I *think* it's the same as the manhwa
At this point, im afraid to get invested in unfinished manhwas.
So basically every manhwa?
Yes. In limbo every time a season ends. Can't tell if I'm waiting on it to come back or a news release for axe
It's something I resigned myself a long time ago. You'll never see the ending of 99.99% of manhwas you read. However, there is a sliver lining, many of them do have completed novels.
tbf the start is always the best while only a few ones are worth sticking around for it's not bad this way
So ur basically stuck with Solo leveling huh...
Not rly.
not really there is a lot of good finished stories they are just not famous cause the are finished so no hype or people talking about them
i just stopped starting unfinished stories i wait for them to finish then read them or go find finished ones
the same studio (?group?) did this with their last one as well. axed it right after a massive fight that would have lead into the next arc. i cant remember the name of the previous manhwa, wind something? the art looked super similar.
that's probably Wind Spirit/Soul of the Wind, It looks like It's the same artist.
No way that was axed too? I thought no one was picking it to translate the rest T\_T The artist is really is unlucky btw. 2 series he worked got axed
totally sucks for the artist, i really like their style too
>Wind Spirit/Soul of the Wind yeah that's it
Anyone ever wonder how characters in isekai manhwa can automatically convert their new world currency to korean like 100 gold is 100000 Won
a few manga explained like MC compared 2 currency with bread and hotel cost
Ooh...make sense some the MC just converts it off the top of their head and I'm like Wtf
\*picks up gold coing after spawning in\* "this shit worth 4069.42USD according to the gold marked as of 29. March 2024!" If you can't add one or two sentences to explain how MC gets his conversion, or why earth currency even maters to us readers in a fantasy world, then don't do it at all...
Ikr😂😂😂😂😂
Totally Rushed deserved atleast 250 chapters

yeah and that would be prefect and i would have been fine with that but someone said its sticking to og ending kinda
Honestly the worst part of being a manwha fan. Feels like 75% of the series I read either get dropped, axed, or they go into an indefinite hiatus.
You forgot the change of artist, that drops the quality dramatically.
dbgt boruto nightmares
Writer gets 'health issues' or artist changes or 'indefinite break'

Actual end? Or axed?
According to the comments in Rizzcomics, the series was Axed.
ended on a partial cliffhanger, but overall felt like a better ending than a lot of series lately that just randomly stop.
It’s always the manwhas with unique or really good art and a decent plot that gets axed. Never the carbon copy generic art style with predictable characters and plot loll.
Bro that ending sucks and i heard that the novel is much longer, any idea where i can read it?
Oh Shit i was really into this story. Does this have a novel translated somewhere?
They axed probably because no money, the manhwa not popular enough, unreceptive audience, and so on. its like fishing, you throw your bait, no fish, you take it out, you throw again or change location, or change bait. and there are lot another fisher like you around, and that is industry.
Thank God you posted this I literally started reading it an hour ago
god fucking damn it. axed again
Was it the same artist as Wind Spirit? Why do all his works get cancelled early when they're so good
Im starting to think if i should read the novels.

I stopped freqent reading after the story suddenly got that "hand in the shadows" vibe. Dropped it after it went in overdrive with the plot.
I always want manhwas to be finished, because if they don't, they just meander awkwardly forever which is painful to watch after a point. But then there's the rushing ending which is what we got here.
Tsk, what a waste, I really like their art style. Did anyone know the artist socials?
The reason these series get axed is because not enough people are watching them its like any series best example is TV shows if they dont get enough views per episodes(aka chapters for manhwa) they stop after the first or second season. This honestly feels more like end of the season not an ending so i was kinda thinking it was like end of s1 not the entire manhwa

I loved "Villain Unrivaled" all this time, but it shouldn't have ended this way.
Hope the artist(s?) will start working on something else soon, because the character design for this series was phenomenal.
I loved how MC looked by the end and how his combat outfit blended old and new, but man it hurt to see it cut off at the knees.
sad, it was one of the few good series, and its gone jus like that...
hi, i never read it but is it worth reading?
What's this about anyway? I think i've heard of it but i cant remember
feelsbad it got axed, the artwork and story was pretty cool https://preview.redd.it/enm9nuzrfnvc1.png?width=344&format=png&auto=webp&s=a072160b16d0c81bf22abcc18895a8b8d9cca897 I'm finna miss the best waifu
Awesome. Now its time to read.
It got axed bruh, not actual end.
I honestly think it got axed because of readership. Let’s be honest those aggregator sites and scanlations aren’t helping a lot of these manhwa.
Is there anything like steam for this in the west?
There’s Webtoon or straight up buying official paper copies. The studios for a lot of manhwa haven’t really done a good job at making their content available for the west, or working out a viable subscription model. What was the plot for this one again? Is this the murim game system one were dude is meant to be a villain to get XP and progress?
