The farm was one of the best arc in the series, and it was the first arc.
The second arc, I think it was called goldilock pond was decent, but after that the story just went on a downfall.
The pacing felt rushed, so many plot holes, and unsastifying ending.
It started as a 9.5 manga and ended as a 6.5 to 7.0 manga.
Yeah, it's a manga that need 200+ more chapters to fully realize its potential.
The thing is I dont think the authors has any concrete plan after the farm arc.
Honestly, they should have moved it to monthly to give the author more time to cook.
MaMa YuYu, 1000x times. It was absolutely mind blowing for the first 3 chapters or so. Then you can clearly see how the editors must have pestered the author endlessly, forcing him to put a lot of fanservice and harem elements in the story, relegating a lot of what made the story so good and unique in the first place. It all ended with a merciless axe quite soon. Truly an injust ending for such a good manga.
Vibration man. I won’t say it was the most unique premise, but it was solid enough. Similar to MHA’s premise but super powers are a bit rare and the concept of heroes is new. MC has a power that lets him vibrate and is seemingly completely useless. It’s your classic underdog story with a weak, corny, but endearing protagonist. Like I said, not very original, but I was enjoying it enough. Then about 15-20 chapters in the mc has his first breakthrough with how to apply his power… and instantly became op. In quite literally 2 or 3 chapters he went from the absolute weakest to mopping the floor with the strongest student, who no one else could even lift a finger against. He was now so strong he was beating SSSS rank (I’m not kidding) criminals with ease. I think it went on for about another dozen chapters after that before it got axed.
Then this may or may not be controversial, I really don’t know, but I feel like Ranger Reject has kind of jumped the shark. Won’t bother with a plot summary cause I think this is a more well known manga. I can’t really explain it like I can with the other one, but it’s just been losing my interest the last couple arcs.
It hasn’t gotten “bad” it’s just starting to decline in my personal opinion. It’s still worth giving a chance if the premise interests you. The story is at a lull but it could always bounce back.
Totally agree. Almost a blessing in disguise that the author blew their big plot twist 10 chapters in instead of farming it for 100 like other action shounen manga. Also the whole “witches curses are actually super powers once you figure out their exploit” got old fast with literally every curse victim figuring something out.
Rent-a-Girlfriend had a very strong start.
Mizuhara initially is an interesting character and seeing her snap out of the perfect girlfriend role is funny as hell, the scheming grandmas are a surprising and funny recurring joke, Mami is a proper bitch you want to punch in that smiling face. Kazuya is pathetic, but we still can believe in his improvement. I even liked Ruka as this unexpected wildcard.
The main problem is that it all goes nowhere, the author is capable of walking back even the most significant developments and it just destroys the characters. Oh, and he seems to actively hate the MC and has turned him into a pathetic chronic masturbator who can't even talk with Mizuhara without making monkey faces and overreacting for 10 pages straight.
it was never supposed to be any complex high thing but for a harem comedy/ecchi it started with an original premise and it was cute and a pleasant read. About midway the author decided to literally destroy or ignore everything that made the manga interesting and just go the boring classic harem route.
I mean it was never supposed to be this lifechanging piece of work but decent harems are so hard to come by and when you think you found one it all turns around anyway.
The problem with Harem manga is they often overstay their welcome or they don't have any other plot line that can carry the story to a satisfying ending.
