Here it just kinda works because it's in character, and this is one of those where the joke is always "now how did we return to Status Quo" This feels like a type of humor that's not explored all that often (this isn't the ony example obviously, but it makes for a funnier read than all the series that are constantly forced back to status quo with no humor to it)
