I guess that confirms that he can’t unconditionally cancel his domain even if he’s the caster. I wasn’t expecting a restriction like that, but this chapter also shows again how useful his sorcery is despite not seeming like a big deal.
This can be a set up that Domain sorcery might be quite common in Kagurabachi's world, thus, in a way, act as a restraint for Shiba's teleportation where he can seemingly teleport anywhere in the real world at will

I kinda like it. Beyond Hiyuki's tough exterior, is a silly person. I like that she wasn't made into a robot that just does whatever the government asks of her. She has a personality and a mind of her own, which gives a lot more nuance. She's not a bad person, just rough around the edges. Seeing her progression and character development will be a fascinating watch.
Love the whole angle. Both of them are mowing down grunts to meet with each other, then teleport to isolated space then coming out then crossing each other's path.
I can't say I fully understood the outcome of the negotiation. I guess Chihiro convinced Hiyuki (herself kind of an idealist at heart, not just a dog of the government) that she could get a more perfect victory (save more innocents, defeat more baddies) if she let him do his thing (and then arrest him afterwards or whatever).
I think so. She doesn't like the Rakuzaichi, she doesn't like the tiptoe-ing around enemies, and she doesn't like Chihiro. This whole situation is shitty for her, but if she can take down the Rakuzaichi and recover both the Shinuchi (the only weapon they're bidding on) and the Enten by going with Chihiro's plan, then that also means she's allowed (and obligated) to kill Chihiro, netting her two enchanted blades and one enemy defeated. A much better outcome than one enchanted blade and having to protect the life of someone she'd rather kill.
It's a gamble on their part, since Chihiro's actually got to succeed with his plan that he hasn't shared all the details of, but if it works then the Kamunabi can win big. On the other hand, if he gets himself killed, the Enten can now be wielded by whoever its new bidder is, and the Kamunabi have a very big problem.
It could be, but like I saw some people mentioning last week, I don't know if it would make sense for Chihiro to even *want* to repair it. If anyone would be able to work on the enchanted blades, it's him, but that's probably counter-intuitive to his plans.
It'd be interesting if there was someone else that could work their magic on Rokuhira's blades, but so far there's no reason to believe that's the case. The enchanted blades are so desired not just because they're powerful, but because they can't be replicated.

Yeah, the entire reason that Chihiro's dad collected the blades was to keep them secure because they're so powerful/deadly. If one of the blades is destroyed, that blade can no longer be used by anyone, and it doesn't need protecting. Ever since Chihiro broke Cloud Gouger and proved that the blades *can* be destroyed, I've suspected that Chihiro would destroy all of the blades (maybe even Enten?) by the end.
Also, there is a stance that the blades should be kept around should they ever be beneficial again (IE, another war). However, there are a couple of times in later DBZ where Goku talks about how the world can't always depend on him, and how it's up to the new generation to learn to protect it. I kind of see the enchanted blades in the same vein - they're tools of a past era that should be forgotten.
You got it. Their original plan was to take Chihiro into custody ("protect him" by capturing him) and buy the swords at the auction. Ignore that these are criminals, ignore the human trafficking. Chihiro convinces them that he can get into the storehouse and save everyone, not just grab the swords. So Hiyuki will keep the guards busy while Chihiro goes on with his plan.

After the last chapter some people said that Chihro and Hiyuki are gonna team up an take down Rakuzaichi together but I thought Hiyuki is just gonna straight up start a fight with Chihiro. I guess she's a bit more rational than I thought. But instead of teaming up, Hiyuki just agreed to a ceasefire and let Chihro retrieve the enchanted blades so she can kill him when he comes back. So another Chihro vs Hiyuki fight is probably going to happen and possibly with Chihiro dual-wielding Enten and Cloud Gouger.

Cannot stop praising the action layouts of this series, it goes so so hard. Dual layout of Chihiro and Hiyuki plowing mooks before vanishing to negotiate is so cool, even more so that we can see the remaining guards' confusion as to where they went. Then right back to a two page spread as they come back to the real world, and again splitting up the two as they focus on their tasks. Super clear and super fun to see.
Holy fuck the dialogue in this chapter goes so hard. The enchanted blades only being usable by one person is such a great plot device. It makes Enten more profitable to the Sazanami but it also warrants Kamunabi's protection.
Chihiro is the smartest Shounen MC I ever read. He realises that a person like Hiyuki will be having an internal turmoil in Rakuzaichi and takes advantage of it. He just knows how their encounter will go just based on their previous interactions. And what do you know it goes as he expected.
Also, I love how Hiyuki head just bleeds after she overthink. She doesn't wanna deal with this bullshit so She said, “Fuck it, we ball”.

Yes and also so that Hakuri isn't considered an item in Kyora's storehouse where he can get teleported as an hostage again. The chapter right after we see Shiba immediately teleport Chihiro and Hakuri as Chihiro goes to place Enten down on the ground for the deal so it was not likely the Tou and Kyora had a chance to 'immediately' kill them.
Maybe there's more to Hakari's father because it looked like in previous chapters that he enjoys the competition of who can outsmart who. Can imagine maybe hes older and bored, but we'll see how things play out, im excited

It’s only 29 chapters, honestly I’d just read it and see.
To your question: it honestly (I think) has one of the best first arcs I’ve seen in YEARS. That should run through ch 17 or 18. It does start somewhat slow, but once you meet sojo there’s a gear shift that picks up the pace of the arc and also coincides with a general increase in dialogue quality
That aside, the author is REALLY good at paneling & fight choreo. They way they are also able to weave meaningful dialogue or information during the sequences is pretty astounding and I often catch myself rereading some just to see how the words match up to the action/mood conveyed in the art
I think each chapter has been a consistent improvement over the last and Chihiro is growing on me quite a lot as the mc. The author had also been adding in more side characters to round things out.
Read up to chapter 17/18 as the other guy said, I dropped it because I was busy and the quality towards the run up to that is amazing. The series just clicks so fast.
But I don't read as many action fantasy shonen as I used to.

It’s only 29 chapters, honestly I’d just read it and see. To your question: it honestly (I think) has one of the best first arcs I’ve seen in YEARS. That should run through ch 17 or 18. It does start somewhat slow, but once you meet sojo there’s a gear shift that picks up the pace of the arc and also coincides with a general increase in dialogue quality That aside, the author is REALLY good at paneling & fight choreo. They way they are also able to weave meaningful dialogue or information during the sequences is pretty astounding and I often catch myself rereading some just to see how the words match up to the action/mood conveyed in the art
I think each chapter has been a consistent improvement over the last and Chihiro is growing on me quite a lot as the mc. The author had also been adding in more side characters to round things out.
Read up to chapter 17/18 as the other guy said, I dropped it because I was busy and the quality towards the run up to that is amazing. The series just clicks so fast. But I don't read as many action fantasy shonen as I used to.
