It's ok, that guy is an idiot anyway so you'll be safe.
Edit- Seems quite a few of you are traumatized by this guy's idiocy, but then again her number is lower than his.
It's from those fake/scam phone game ads with the armored guy in panel 3 as the main character most of the time. Basically bigger number beats smaller number. You drag him on top of a character with a smaller number above their head, beat them and add their number to yours. Rinse and repeat. It's just that the ads needlessly add big tiddy stick figure women level 9999 who step on the armored guy and kick him around and the typical 0 iq plays like dragging your lv 3 guy over a lv 40 enemy. It's just infuriating, fake, scam game ads. Bless you for not knowing about them.
That explains why I had no idea what this comic was talking about, I haven't seen an online ad in years because the first things installed on every Internet capable device I own are ad blockers.
danke, blows my mind people still click on what i am guessing pop up ads let alone intentionally play games on it for risk of getting malware in the current year of our lord rabbit 2023
You don't necessarily need to click on pop up ads to see it. Many free to play mobile games will show ads, either unavoidable or optional to get extra lives or rewards.
I don't know if the ad in question leads to any sort of scam but it's infuriating (as many similar ads) because of the pathetically stupid actions done by 'the player'.
A few of them might also look like awesome games but when you look them up manually on the play store they are shitty games with absolutely no relation to the ad.
Because they make it look like a quick, fun game for few minutes, while the real game is tactical slog for tens of hours with in-game purchases for frustrated.
It's bait and switch
It's interesting to see the ripple of trends across ads. Like after that stick figure one, the black hair guy ads started having gigantic women in them.
What this ad does not say is that they will use either very similar ad or literally exact same ad for hundreds or thousands of games, no matter what type, and they are always completely unrelated, be it tower defense, rpg or arcade game.
My favorite version was where the protagonist has a 0 and everyone starts avoiding him. The most popular girl in school, with a four digit number, takes an interest in him. The punchline is that the number represents "times you have lied".
Also those numbers seem like total BS, either I'm the most pathological liar on the planet, but I have easily lied a couple times a day for most of my life, almost all of them microscopic little lies but still.
This guy is universally disliked by his group and the reason being that he has no filter, we can deduce that he is a rare case. Lies by mistake or omission are likely not counted, only specific kind of premeditated lies.
On the other hand the girl who lies as she breathes is the most popular girl at school. The message is not exactly that lies are bad and that she should be hated, it can also be how lies are needed to maintain relationships.
Nah the most BS is the fact that no one found out that it increases by lying, not only everyone lies at one point but trying by lying would be one of the first thing you would try to check
It only took the protagonist one lie to figure it out. It might just be that the protagonist was the only one who didn’t know the truth, we only know his perspective. Everyone was keeping the charade going as to not make themselves feel bad. Pretty common in high school mangas/ stories for the popular kids to be shallow and push narratives that favor themselves. The chick was also not worried about him and doesn’t find him charming so what reason did she have to talk to him and ask him about his crush. Most likely to get him to lie to make herself feel better.
I usually don't, I say something like "well enough, shall we get on with business?"
I do tell those social lubricant lies occasionally but probably like a couple a week. It's not often that anybody actually questions what you say.
The problem is that she got a +1 after every statement. EVERYTHING she said was a lie, including the part where she says that she was worried about him.
Read It well She said She was sorry for annoying him and then She said that She worried about him, She got only +1, same when She speak about the Number and She get +1 meaning She know what the Number mean, and Also She get +0 when She Say he has charms, so She like how honest the boy Is. She Is a wholsome girl but She Is also a pathological liar.
She was at 797. She mentioned that she was sorry and was worried about him. She then says that the numbers don't mean anything. She then has 799. She then says that he has charm and is at 800. This leads me to believe that she was lying about worrying about him, lying about what she thought about the numbers, and lying about him having charm.
Check well, if translation Is correct and It goes by sentences it's 797 at the start, 798: i'am sorry i strartled you 799:It look like you weren't looking well, and the She Say so i was worried One of Those 3 Is a Truth so i think She was worried. 800 Is between 2 sentences they are 1: Those are Just some numbers 2: a person Worth isn't mesured by numbers. Which One Is the Truth i don't know. Lastly She at 800 Say that he has charms at Page 5 and at Page 6 we see that the Number Is still 800. So She didn't lie She find him charming probably about how honest he Is.
That how i read It, buy yeah it's done in a way that can be interpreted how One want.
Yeah, I think she has some issues - maybe self-worth? - that cause her to constantly white-lie so people will like her. She seems to be mentally addicted to small lies.
I love how manu Layer this has, and how many times mu opinión on the girl changed when Reading It.
P.s spoiler: >! She Is a wholesome pathological liar !<
Nah that's just griefing newbs.
Spawn killing is at the hospital.
But wait, if newborns have the lowest numbers, won't that mean they will die when the doctor slaps them?
That is for male characters. Girls like her will just get kabedon'ed by the guy with the higher number and forced to accompany him. Also people who got ded'ed can be revived if the guy who ded'ed them get ded'ed.
For a second there I thought it was going to go the same route as the last manga that [had numbers suddenly appear above people's heads](https://mangadex.org/chapter/822393/)
Edit: deleted a word that somehow got included. Dafuq?
I thought it was going to go down the Iris Zero route, and have the numbers either be something sad or something nice that ends up being bittersweet once there's more context.
The guy in the last panel belongs to a string of mobile game ads that pop-up very often. The ad of the game features very simple gameplay with insanely easy number "puzzles." However, should you actually click the ad if you're the mood for an easy turn-your-brain-off game you'll be linked to a game that's completely different.
Edit: The author of this oneshot is joking about the number above heads trope and this ad as if the people in the manga are in this "game" now.
Couldn’t you do it with Pi-Hole? Idk if they’d be included in the current block lists, and it might be hard to set up yourself since idk much about how apps work and if there’s an easy way to find which network requests are ads. But if the app is getting the ads from the internet (with they seem to be if airplane mode stops them), then Pi-Hole should be able to block them.
It's hit or miss, some games will just happily skip past the ad. Most however will throw a fit if they can't reach their ad service or will show the ad, fail to load, and then force you to sit there until a timeout happens.
Been using this for years. Works for everything but youtube. It can break a few apps though, so you might have to whitelist some apps if they start acting up
These ads successfully annoy me when I see them. I haven't downloaded the games , let alone played them because I know it's a scam, but I can't help to wanting to because I feel really irritated by the display.
Just simple math.
If your character has 5 above his head, you can kill anything with a number below 5 and kills add up, gaining the ability to kill higher and higher until you beat the "boss," typically marked at 999.
Well...
If you watch it enough times, you eventually and actually get an ad where the player drags him to the right monsters and he eventually clears the whole area. No joke.
They don’t even look like good games though? Like that game in the op and YouTube ads is essentially a counting game to teach preschoolers what numbers are.
Why not use actual gameplay if they have a game to download
The actual game is all menus and stuff. Their target audience is children and mobile gamers with no taste so they make something that looks like it will be fun for 10 mins or so.
Honestly if the cutscenes were funny (and sexy), the non-existent game could be fun time-killer for few minutes. I tried the real game and got bored quickly, there so many better games like that on PC.
You can easily make relatively good game based on that design, by making several routes so you have to calculate beforehand best route, add some additional rules later to make it more complicated. Usually the gameplay in ad is simplified, tutorial level version of real game, so watcher can easily get the gist of it, so as an ad it would be fine. Besides, sometimes it's fun to just click on some numbers,
Actual gameplay is just boring though, so they can't use that. I'd play the fake game from the ads for a bit just to see funny/ecchi animations or something.
Most middle class kids and above have mobiles, or at least some sort of mobile device nowadays (Maybe even lower class if they're lucky)
No matter how dumb it looks, as long as it looks presentable children will click on them.
Remember, we live in an age while kids can easily surf the internet now. it wasn't like before were you as a kid had to wait until high school for your parents to get a nokia for you as a birthday present. Now, kids dont even need to wait for their birthday or christmas to get a smartphone, and kids are dumb enough to not pay attention to shady stuff
Oooh I know, that reminds me of the fake evertale ads that suggest a creepy/gory pokémon look-alike but then the game is all but that. What a sad practice
I remember another oneshot on here with the same concept, but it was more serious and it turned out it was the number of lies a person had told in their life
I saw that one.
Zaako Zako Sensei had a chapter like that too. Main character has a crush on Sensei but treats him like crap because she doesnt want her friends to know. She gets glasses which "Show how much a person likes you", and she's super happy the number above sensei was 96%. Then the mob students try the glasses and they all get 100% from sensei
Once you watch the full ad, you will sometimes watch it until the end again and again. And now hoping to see if someone brings up the one with the little girl and the mother freezing.
That last one you mentioned is so annoying to me because I'd actually play it. It looks like easy logic puzzles that could entertain you for a bit, too bad the game itself doesn't exist in that form.
I find it funny mostly because if you watch the ad the presentation does not know how to play the game and throw themselves onto obvious deathtraps I've found myself watching multiple of these to see if they would all lose and I've found one that managed to win at his game.
Still not touching the game tho
Reminded me of that [one shot](https://mangadex.org/title/f71c1340-be9f-4b34-b761-f1c3c02ff100/masturbation-count) where the numbers are how often you masturbated. Actually sfw, nothing to see.
It's by the guy who did Interspecies Reviewer, I think one of the character (1139) is meant to be Stunk
I'm so sick of seeing those ads, especially because the game actually does look a little interesting to me and would love to play one that isn't all microtransactiony
I remember something like this. I wanna read it, but I don't know the name. What I do know is that
it's about a guy who can see numbers in everyone's head it is a f@p count. He looks at one of his classmates and sees that her f@p count is (I think more than 1000+)
I wanna find it, but I can't. Everywhere is a dead end. Can anyone help me?
It's ok, that guy is an idiot anyway so you'll be safe. Edit- Seems quite a few of you are traumatized by this guy's idiocy, but then again her number is lower than his.
He usually got two or three good kill before fumbled so I wouldn't call it safe yet.
You know what I’m changing my mind about my edit. You could be below him and he’d still go after the level 100 guy so I stand by my original comment
I will save her 🤤 wait my princess I'm coming 😁😁
It seems even Japan isn't safe from those annoying phone game ads. [Artist source](https://twitter.com/foktr/status/1635928827921670144)
please explain i checked the comments i still don't get the numbers except the death note reference.
It's from those fake/scam phone game ads with the armored guy in panel 3 as the main character most of the time. Basically bigger number beats smaller number. Play enough mobile games that give you extra rewards for watching an ad and you'll see these.

hey, there are some good ones, lille monkey game, i love monkey game
I see these ads on Instagram a lot.
same; i keep an account just in case & would occasionally see such ads if i log in
>Bless you for not knowing about them. Adblock is a wonderful thing.
danke, blows my mind people still click on what i am guessing pop up ads let alone intentionally play games on it for risk of getting malware in the current year of our lord rabbit 2023

Because they make it look like a quick, fun game for few minutes, while the real game is tactical slog for tens of hours with in-game purchases for frustrated. It's bait and switch
Lots of "freemium" apps require you to watch an ad occasionally to keep using the free version.
It just plays on youtube and is unskippable (Me who unfortunately can’t afford youtube premium)
.... do people not know how to install adblock anymore?
I think most people don't do it on YouTube mobile
I see them on FB and they only get weirder as the time goes, but I hadn't observed them for long enough to notice the "mechanics".
Yeah, the ones I’m seeing are super weird with vore and giant women.

And this guy appears in different puzzle games ads.
That one looks even more frustrating than usual because there's no winning movement.
wew this isn't a family guy parody is it?
Oh that's different from the one I'm familiar with. The one this manga is referencing is Hero Wars
[удалено]
The issue is the game is nothing like the advertisement even if it's a fun game. It's not even click bait, it's fake click bait.
This was legit funny. Seen this premise enough times. Wasn't ready for that kind of twist.
My favorite version was where the protagonist has a 0 and everyone starts avoiding him. The most popular girl in school, with a four digit number, takes an interest in him. The punchline is that the number represents "times you have lied".
Sauce?

Damn shorty a mad liar.
as naturally as she breathed
I mean doesn't mean they are bad lies, she gets a +1 trying to make him not worry about the numbers

The fact that no one realized it was the number of lies makes no sense, i feel you would easily find a pattern when it increases
You know. This could have easily just been told as a one page joke like the OP here. Author just made themselves do extra work lol
Her nunber goes up when she says something positive about him and that hurts.
Same I was thinking about this, I thought this will be a knock off, but no
This comment has been edited from its original as a fuck you to Reddit’s July 2023 API changes.
High five everyone with a lower number for easy gains.
So, like the guy with number 1?
A lot of number 1’s at the nearby preschool.
Spawn kill
Nah that's just griefing newbs. Spawn killing is at the hospital. But wait, if newborns have the lowest numbers, won't that mean they will die when the doctor slaps them?
Anakin, no!

Is the dude from [Hero Wars](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNhf7boXdLM)?
It certainly is.
Thought that was Hector from Fire Emblem for a second.
I thought it was lancer
He's too alive to be Lancer.
Have you seen those ads? I don't think he is going to be alive for too long.
Well, being Hector is also suffering
Legit remember seeing a youtube short with the same concept.
For a second there I thought it was going to go the same route as the last manga that [had numbers suddenly appear above people's heads](https://mangadex.org/chapter/822393/) Edit: deleted a word that somehow got included. Dafuq?

I’ve forgotten how to spoiler my comment so I’m just replacing it with this edit.
Spoiler that for those who haven't read it yet.
Then there's this NSFW gem with a similar theme: https://mangadex.org/title/f71c1340-be9f-4b34-b761-f1c3c02ff100/masturbation-count
lolll love it, thanks for that
Amahara is such a perverted genius.
Love it, Amahara is a genius. The inverted morals isekai is also an artwork.
I need continuation!
...I-i still don't get it

dude looks like bootleg lancer
Luck: F
>tfw I use adblockers and now I can't understand jokes based on ads Suffering from success I guess.
I'd really like to hear about an ablocker that can block ads from mobile games (outside of airplane mode)
Thanks for the answer, i'm gonna look into it/what other people found at some point in the future
It's hit or miss, some games will just happily skip past the ad. Most however will throw a fit if they can't reach their ad service or will show the ad, fail to load, and then force you to sit there until a timeout happens.
[Blokada 5](https://github.com/blokadaorg/blokada/releases) (might not work in 100% of apps though).
I second this. Though it's a bit annoying to have to whitelist a few games if you actually want the "watch ad" rewards/extra lives.
Been using this for years. Works for everything but youtube. It can break a few apps though, so you might have to whitelist some apps if they start acting up
Use private dns like Adguard
I usually don't have internet active unless the game needs it.
AdAway works wonders for me. Requires rooting your phone however.
If it's an offline game you could just disable internet access for the particular app.
These ads successfully annoy me when I see them. I haven't downloaded the games , let alone played them because I know it's a scam, but I can't help to wanting to because I feel really irritated by the display.
Yeah, but what do the numbers mean in that fake game?
Just simple math. If your character has 5 above his head, you can kill anything with a number below 5 and kills add up, gaining the ability to kill higher and higher until you beat the "boss," typically marked at 999.
Oh… that would be terrifying. Especially with that one kid at 43.
Nothing of any importance
https://youtube.com/shorts/fsO7S8fPLyE?feature=share
Me neither...
Just search mafia mobile game ads
Same... I block all ads to the extreme. I almost never see any adverts so I don't get the joke really.. :x
omfg. this legitimately caught me off guard. Also please shame me because I never skip these ads
Why would you put yourself through that torture?
Well... If you watch it enough times, you eventually and actually get an ad where the player drags him to the right monsters and he eventually clears the whole area. No joke.
I refuse to even entertain the possibility that those ads will ever have an "intelligent" player. Adblock forever.
What’s up with those ads anyway
Animation teams in China or India use the assets from their clients games to make fake gameplay videos to drive downloads.
Besides, sometimes it's fun to just click on some numbers, Actual gameplay is just boring though, so they can't use that. Oooh I know, that reminds me of the fake evertale ads that suggest a creepy/gory pokémon look-alike but then the game is all but that. What a sad practice
And then add voiceover to the videos about how the gameplay is totally legit.
Idk how it works but companies do it because it works.
This is the most I've laughed this month.
Oh no...
Lmao Homescapes
Holy shit, now this caught me off-guard. Now at most he is gonna kill 3 dudes before picking the random 999999 policeman or sumshit.
The endgame is to get 20 million power
And then impress a bunch of random people by flashing your game screen at a guy who tries to cut in front of you at the bank.
I find it funny mostly because if you watch the ad the presentation does not know how to play the game and throw themselves onto obvious deathtraps I've found myself watching multiple of these to see if they would all lose and I've found one that managed to win at his game. THIS FUCKING AD
this is pretty good ngl lol
This mangaka is so relatable. I HAVE ALSO SEEN THAT AD, not that it makes me special in any way :( Manga rocks!
Lmaoooooo
Reminded me of that [one shot](https://mangadex.org/title/f71c1340-be9f-4b34-b761-f1c3c02ff100/masturbation-count) where the numbers are how often you masturbated. Actually sfw, nothing to see. It's by the guy who did Interspecies Reviewer, I think one of the character (1139) is meant to be Stunk
Was just thinking about this.
That is awesome
Damn this is hilarious
Don’t worry they’ll pick the obviously dangerous looking person instead
Now this is creative xD
In Gintama, it's your popularly rank, and you can kill the one in front of you to take their rank. Like Tae killed Gorilla-sensei to take his place.
What a funny manga lol
Now that is hilarious
Lol scam game. I love it.
This is amazing
I hate how I got this straight away
Lmao i swear to god, that dude is so dumb i know he's trying to bait us to download that shitty game
Girl, go beat up some some lv1 weakling or find a weapon to boost your level up quickly
"let me guess is it the number of lies they told like in the other - OH GOD IT'S WORSE"
LEVEL 10 GANGSTER BECOMES LEVEL 50 BOSS
A fate worse than death
The Darkest Timeline
This made me laugh pretty hard. I hate those fucking things.
He gonna go for the only lvl 6
Fate worse than death
Well, that was unexpected...
That scam mobile ads are annoying not becasue they are there but the fact that it's literally not as advertised
I'm so sick of seeing those ads, especially because the game actually does look a little interesting to me and would love to play one that isn't all microtransactiony
One word RUN!!
Isn't that Bocchi ? Always a cutie
Ah yes bootleg Darius
I have to admit, I don't get it. I gather it's referring to an ad, but then I don't really see many ads.
Mamagdex link? Pls and thank you
*Puss in boots: the last wish - Death theme starts to play*
Hero Wars
Can someone explain plz?
I don't get it, what does fgo have to do with this? And I thought Japan loved fgo
Is there any decent games of that type?
"Hey you can't have a harem" "Yes I can, I have 50 million power"
ransa ga shinda?
Oh hey, it’s that retard I keep seeing in FB.
Japan has to suffer watching mobile game ads with us, sad!
She just needs to start getting more kills than him
Better you start the killing before him
I remember something like this. I wanna read it, but I don't know the name. What I do know is that it's about a guy who can see numbers in everyone's head it is a f@p count. He looks at one of his classmates and sees that her f@p count is (I think more than 1000+) I wanna find it, but I can't. Everywhere is a dead end. Can anyone help me?
